No, but the insulting deformations like Haldir and the elves marching into Rohan through a horde of Orcs or Tom Bomadil, Glorfindel and everything else West of the Misty Mountains being cut was heresy.
While I agree with you about the travesty of Glorifindel being cut, I don't find the Elves at Helm's Deep all that bad. Sure, it never happened in the books but it accomplished two things:No, but the insulting deformations like Haldir and the elves marching into Rohan through a horde of Orcs or Tom Bomadil, Glorfindel and everything else West of the Misty Mountains being cut was heresy.
From someone who knows jack about Lord of the Rings, this post was hilarious.
Is it just me or is is snarky how they make the second book a movie before the first book is made into a movie? Star Wars????
No idea.
When I read the Hobbit, I got about a hundred or so pages in before I got bored, so maybe that factored into the decision.

1) There's a reason why the Elves (Except Legolas) don't appear after Lothlórien until the end of the War. They're withdrawing already. Never mind the fact that Legolas shouldn't be blonde at all while we're at it. The only blondes were the Vanyar (including Galadriel, this is the origin of her famed locks). The Teleri and their Sindar offshoots were silver/grey-haired. The Noldor had dark hair. While I agree with you about the travesty of Glorifindel being cut, I don't find the Elves at Helm's Deep all that bad. Sure, it never happened in the books but it accomplished two things:
1) In a broad way, it showed the Elves still fought against the forces of Sauron openly in the Third Age, which had only been read about in the Appendix.
2) Using using all the grace and dignity a movie can muster, it was able to ram home the Decline of the Elves and the Dominion of Men very well.
2.5) The fanboy in me got to see elves! (Of course, it would have been better if they were Sindarin rather then Silvan. Noldor would have been even better, but that wouldn't really be fair for the poor Uruk-Hai.)
I should run you over in a kittenkatten bus!No idea.
