got the letter for the 5 year bs/ms program at my university back today, after applying in september! good news (though expected, as it's like 100% if you had the gpa to qualify).

so yay! Grad school is guaranteed open to me as long as I keep my grades up (and its not binding to boot!).

Ah yeah, I just started playing civ 5 this past 2 weeks. Now I get to be all hipster and complain about what the expansion can ruin. Or say how espionage isn't good in BtS and won't be good in GnK (or G&K? G&k? needs a good official acronym).

Rave: Got to see two former Israeli soldiers come in and speak to my class today. One grew up in the Soviet Union and the other was openly gay. Pretty cool.

A lot of it is a parody, a combination of some incredibly straight-faced trolls and some equally gullible moderators. What's telling is that it's almost impossible to figure out which parts are the parody and which parts are real.
