Why did the only woman that Meatloaf ever loved leave him during a stormy night?

I don't know why she specifically chose a stormy night, but she left him because, even though she both wanted and needed needed him, there ain't no way she was ever going to love him....

Right, but they're in bed. No precipitating cause. She gives him a kiss. Nothing about the situation demands departure during that stormy night.

And, follow-up question: why does he balk at leaving just because some snow happens to be piling up outside?

On a stormy night she would leave no tracks!

Beats those November rains.

The arrow that Paris shot into Achilles' heel was guided by Apollo himself. If you want an "epic fail" from Achilles, try his awful behaviour with dragging Hector's corpse around the city of Troy for hours.

The fault lies with Thetis. Had it occurred to her to give the lad a second coating of Styx, that nasty arrow business could have been prevented entirely

Would he have answered ‘domo arigato’?

oh sure blame the woman 🙄

idk dude you got one tiny weak point. if you cant make it work while all them other dudes are running around vulnerable all over that sounds like a skill issue to me

Apollo was always on the side of the Trojans. Too bad Diomedes (of Argos) didn't cut him like he did with Aphrodite and Ares ^^
And while what he did to Hector's corpse was terrible, Hector himself rather didn't act like a hero when he was running away from Achilles until the gods made him falsely believe he would be a match - and then instantly was slain.

Though at least this way we know (by inference) that Ajax (of Salamis) wasn't really fit to inherit the weapons of Achilles.

Speaking of horrible, the father of Diomedes did a lot worse, in the siege of Thebes.

If you get a free forum, the only cost is your time and effort.

Proboards were very popular around 2010, but they're probably ad supported. As with everything, you get what you pay for.

Where do I get a free forum?

You can do a Google search for free forum hosts, and see if any of them appeal to you.

The one closest to the old InvisionFree forums from over a decade ago is Jcink - it's not difficult to work with, but then it doesn't offer as many bells and whistles as other types of forums.

The type you choose can depend on what you want to do with it. Some are better than others when it comes to things like embedding videos and images, and of course there are some that are much easier to skin then others (that's the older term for themes).

I'm a member of three Proboards forums now, all of them for gaming. I haven't tried to moderate or admin one, so am unsure how easy it is to tinker with the guts.

One thing I've noticed is that they no longer harass me about ads or donations - not sure if it's due to ABP, or if the owners decided to disable that.

How big a forum did you want, @Narz? (as in how many people do you anticipate using it)

I have no idea, as many as want to join. I figure if it's just text and a few smileys (and linked images from offsite) it wouldn't take up much bandwidth no matter how many posters/ings

You'll need to be careful about the linked images. Some sites absolutely don't allow hotlinking, so you'll need a reliable image host. You'd need that anyway if you want to change the default theme or add smileys.

How expensive is it to start and host a forum?

The cheapest cloud hosting plan of our provider (Xenforo itself) is 60€/month, with vbulletin apparently 20€/month.

Renting your own server where you can install software as you like can be from 1-20€/month (just checked 2 providers) and a software license (which you'd need to install yourself) is e.g. for vbulletin 250€/year, for Xenforo 160€/year.
Or a subreddit is free.

If you are going to set it up yourself I would go with docker these days. I have not done it with a forum, but there are pre-built images with OS forum software, and setup is really easy with docker.

Be the change you want to see.
