Dear MisterCooper, the world is not a complicated place. Liberals are aborting black babies because they're racists. The world is therefore a simple place. Liberals are evil and engaged in conspiracies to commit racial genocide, stopping along the way only to marry gay people to one another, or marry cats and dogs together, while peeing on slices of toast which look like the virgin mary.
As your political views become more extreme, everything becomes much clearer. The less you read, the simpler it all becomes.
But since you brought up economics, I can tell you that I am pretty sure the jobs numbers that just came out have been cooked by someone somewhere and that we are in fact in recession right here and right now.
The best part about it, is being
certain of things you just made up on the spot. That's a leap of faith over a cliff, usually only attempted by the most hardcore fanatics. That's
belief right there. When you believe something so strongly, that you don't let things like contradicting facts or an absence of any evidence for what you're saying get in the way of your certainty.
I tell you, were it not for certainty, mankind wouldn't be where it is today. Since we're certain the Earth is flat, we needn't try to circumnavigate the globe. Since we're certain the Earth is at the center of the universe, and the sun goes around it, we can freely persecute those who spread the heresy that the Earth goes around the sun. Since we're certain that people are witches, and we're certain that they have magic powers, it's even more necessary to be certain that the people we accuse of witchcraft are actually witches before we murder them.
Certainty. Why choose progress?
Certainty is a traditional
value. It has stood the test of time. If it was good for our ancestors, it's good enough for us. Who are we to have such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to ask questions?
It is the
humble man who knows, without seeing any data, that the official numbers are wrong. He is
humble enough to know with certainty that if it disagrees with his well-founded opinions, it is
wrong.
