UNIT REQUESTS - Godzilla and Friends!

I am pretty happy with the big G models I already have from Supa, but what excites me most on that link is the Gigan model. Godzuki would be a nice addition too, and I could always use more zillas and dinos.

Well, I plan on using all the Firaxis Dinos unless I find one I like better, as well as Kinboats Pteradactyls. I would love a plesiosaur or other aquatic dino. Currently I am using Supas Megalodon for the aquatic Ancient One, but there is always room for more, right? :)

Basically, any Dino unit not done by Firaxis I will definitely add if it is of better quality (and if it comes from you I am sure it will be) or is of a different dino.

Well, on the Wiki site for Zoo Tycoon 2, the list of Dino's is near the bottom under extinct animals exp pack... I'm not sure what half of them even are, but those are the one's included.

There is quite a few, ZT2 is 3d, so I still need to check it out to see what's involved with the conversion process.

Tom

Well, I'd like something different that we don't already have, so in order here would be my top 5:

1. Dimetrodon
2. UtahRaptor
3. Mastodon (I think Plotinus has one in progress though)
4. Carnotaurus
5. Narwhal (not a Dino or even extinct, but just awesome :) )

Well, Tom made the Raptor, and Plotinus the Mastodon. That leaves the Dimetrodon up to you :)

Spoiler :
...but I would love to see that Anguirus....

Of course, I appreciate all of these great beasts, and I'm thrilled to hear of your plans to make more, but I'd remind you guys that nobody has yet made any of the giant sauropods. When I was a kid and thought of a dinosaur, I thought of a sauropod (..which was well before Jurassic Park, where they were used only as eye candy)

I just looked (to refresh my memory) & the closest the PTW extras has is a puny plateosaur. How'd they miss a whole order?

Tom that would be great - I was going to use KinBoats Pteranadon for Rodan, but this looks a bit more Rodanish, so if you do make it it will be Rodan :)

I'll take the redone raptor, too :)

Good pick, Tom ! You might even reskin him in dark brown hue to match Rodan closer.

I used Scott Ayer's model, so it's a little retro-looking Apatosaur (and not Brontosaur) we're having here. Obviously, the sheer length of this animal is a problem for Civilization III. It does look good here but East and West directions crop a lot of the tail. If I adjust the size, it looks too small. A Brachiosaur or a Camarasaur would look better in a Civ-III square, they're bigger than they're long. I'm not sure other types of sauropods would really work for Civ-III.

WOW Supa that is AWESOME! About the size, can you make the tail slightly smaller and curl in a bit, or is that too difficult and\or unrealistic? If that doesn't work, one that is scaled too small is still better than none at all :)

Curling the tail and arching the neck only gain us a few pixels, I can only advance the unit so much before it starts crushing other units in combat. Beside, as good as Scott's models are, they are also a little stiff: there are only 4 movable parts in the tail, so I can't curve it too much.

Doing so, I can also go full old-school, a little like Zdeněk Burian or Charles R. Knight. I actually think it got more presence like this and the bulky chest now enhances the figure. I'll see what I can do.

The harder is done.

I tried to channel the old flicks "The Lost World" and "King Kong" for this archaic sauropod. I haven't seen them in a while but I think I succeeded.

For the W/E/N problem, I'll just make the very last bit of tail disappears. It looks fine like this and the tail doesn't just stop at an invisible barrier anymore.

About the Pleiosaur: There is a Pleiosaur Transport unit.. I think it's one of the first 3D unit created on these boards.
