WH Discussion Thread

I don't think that the fact the GW renamed their barbarian tribes is a reason to rename the civs in the mod. ;)
The Kurgan are already included in the mod in the Chaos civ, as far as I'm concerned.

AFAIK no one has given a good suggestion on how to include Grail Knights, including stats and gfx. kairob's suggestion is interesting, but it needs more work.

I don't like Stormrage's suggestion for the O&G's.

Supa, how do you stop spelling Bananananana Daqry?

Start unit: Bray, 3/2/1, recoloured vanilla Warrior? (It should be easy to do this)
1st defense: Ungor, 2/4/1, +1 HP
1st offense; Gor, 6/4/1, +1 HP, iron (rename the "Beastman" unit in the mod)
2nd defense; Bestigor, 6/6/1, +1 HP, iron
2nd offense; Minotaur, Probably give it the stats it has now in the mod.
1st mage; Bray-Shaman, 3(3)/3/1 +1 HP, lacks gfx, though we could always use that boring old Star Wars emperor...
2nd mage; Great Bray-Shaman, 4(6)/4/1, +1 HP, same gfx as Bray-Shaman.
1st cavalry; Tuskgor Chariot, 6/2/2, probably +2 HP, req Beasts.
2nd cavalry; Centigor, probably 8/4/2, +1 HP, maybe require Beasts, and possibly iron?
Warhound; Warhound of Chaos, dunno about the stats, maybe as Direwolves or Flesh hound? Req Beasts.
Chaos Troll, as for Chaos.
All Ogre units.
Dragon equivalent units; Dragon Ogre and Shaggoth, lacks gfx. Could use ordinary dragons, I suppose, or maybe demons, if no one makes a Dragon Ogre unit. ;)
No war machines.
Only the simplest ships.

No leaderhead available, the leader should probably be Gorthor. I don't know how hard it would be to come up with a city list, seeing as how they're mostly nomadic?

I'd probably remove about half the beastman units from the Chaos (renamed to Hordes of Chaos?) civ, and let the remaining ones require beasts as they are. This way they can get a few beastmen allies, but they won't be dominant.

I just made this list, and as you see, as soon that we got a LH made we could add this civ to the mod.

How bout making Gors the first offensive and defensive unit, 4.6.1 (or 4.5.1.) and mebbe cheaper, I dunno. Something like the greek Hoplite in vanilla, why build swordmen, when you have kewl, strong Hoplites.
Then the Ungors, who have a shield and a spear, could be the second def, and the Bestigors would be second off, and Minotaurs would be much stronger units.

Also, Kinboat has some great beast props, there is a goat model, could be used for the LH...

Um, then just switch names, I was talking about gfx mostly :)
Well, aaglo based the gfx on the GW "units". Ungors have spears and tiny horns, Gors have goat horns and are bigger/cooler.
BTW, Brays are Beastmen that are unlucky enough to be borned mutated, without horns ( ), and they are getting mobbed by all other beastmen for their cowardly, humanly looks.

I have been reading the Beasts of Chaos armybook, if you didn't notice. ;)

:( Shame about the leaderheads man....

My biggest concern is where to add them to the world maps :mischief: because the old world is already overcrowded and they really wouldn’t suit the northern waists, although that should really be discussed in the map section right?

I have been reading the Beasts of Chaos armybook, if you didn't notice.
Good on ya Mrtn!

Well I think a beastmen LH should always look angry (and maybe drunk) anyway :mischief:

It is a shame tho.. But what about all those scenarios with flag LHs? I mean, its pretty obvious from the diplo text how they feel towards you... Would be a shame if we got everything except the LH :(

I don`t think I ever saw a bray on the GW site.. All art showing shaman-like units has guys with horns..

I think we can discuss the location here too, cos this is a discussion thread for the mod, and maps are made for the mod too, and there are several maps, would be hard to pick one for discussing, and even harder doing it in all of the map threads :)

This is a preview of the Beastman LH i made a while ago while working on one of my WH scenarios.

It is static and single era, but i like it! :D

Well, LHs should be less of a problem, seeing that I convinced aaglo that "Yes, you can do it!". ATM he's trying to convert a beastman LH to a flc, and I can tell you, it looks awesome. :)
Stormrage, GW don't have any Bray minis AFAIK, they're too useless for the beastmen, but there are some pics in the beginning of the Beasts of Chaos armybook, when they're mutating, that has some pics.

You're gonna be happy with the new Tilean civ colour, I think. ;)

Those new colours look good too, mrtn

So aaglo's making a beastmen LH, is he? This is a good sign!

As for the unit lists, in the tabletop game the beastmen and hordes of chaos lists are interchangeable, but in a beastman army HoC units are rare, and vice versa.

do you think that the beastmen should be able to build some mortal units? like marauders or cultists? since the hordes of chaos can build some beastmen units?
