Calipers and tongs.

Fighting Satan is a bit like practicing a video game. You can develop a strategy & a mindset & reflexes in order to fight Satan. You can learn about Satan to gain insight into his powers & goals. You can then endeavour to battle Satan through faith, works, & knowledge.

But in the end, you're basically wasting your time on a fantasy. Yeah, sure, there may be downstream benefits. Having faith & works can be a net good. And videogames can help with reflexes. Sure.

But believing in Satan not only biases you to blame certain absurdities on Satan, but also encourages you to describe certain absurdities as being due to Satan. And then you'll waste time trying to defeat Satan instead of just fixing the problem or getting past it.

You're better off just being a good person, and doing good things.

A related question I asked a few years ago.

How powerful is Satan?

Faith. And we don't really have to "fight him" as it were. God's gonna take care of him in his own time. We just have to resist him.

Not attacking you Agent, but how / when will God do this? I've heard that God was going to let Satan rule for 1000 years, but it's been 2000 so far. Or am I missing something? Is there actually no time limit?

Satan is too big and powerful to fight - he could crush you in an instant with his brimstone testicles.

*swoon*

Now I know what I'd die for, thanks Munch !

Satan gets the last 1000 years before Earth is consumed by the dying Sun.

Unless, of course, humanity's descendants decide Earth has sufficient sentimental value to them to preserve, in which case He'll have to settle for Mercury and Venus.

mmm, sulfuric fumes /pedantic comment

I think having Jebus on your side helps...

Darn it, I can't put heart into the following, kinda thought I could have been going somewhere, but far too late now: "Relics like Stormbringer probably wouldn't work so well in an "ends justifies the means" dilemna. Also, there's the age-old problem of silver versus cold iron. However, there are yet adequate ways to be prepared, and the poll should read 'Hawaiian Shirt'."

Here's why:

Ah right, actually, if kulade would give his permission that this is worthy, I have something I think could generally add to the thread: An Edgar Allen Poe story:

The Duc De L'Omlette

Let us not forget America's greatest weapon against Satan.
