Why we (America) should just conquer the Lands of Canada

Technically, Canada didn't exist yet.....
Well, Canada existed, but it didn't have any army to burn down anything. I would say it wasn't a sovereign nation, independent of the British Crown yet... but it still isn't so things are pretty much the same in that regard :p

I'm not sure of the exact niceties of the joint crowns, but Canada is a sovereign member of the UN, whose head of state happens to be the same head of state as fifteen other nations in the world.

Ummm Excuse me? "Your" hockey players already "play for our flag"... your best ones anyway. NHL means National Hockey League, not "North American" Hockey League. It's called the National... "National" meaning United States, Hockey League, precisely because its a US League with a couple Canadian teams sprinkled in... and its the best hockey in the world, bar-none... All Your Hockey Are Belong To US.

They play for $$$, they do not play for the Star spangled banner.

Besides, the NHL was originally a Canadian league and expanded into the U.S. You didn't know that? Come on! The state of hockey education in your country is embarrasing

YES THEY DO!!!

Fake news.

Anyway...whatever, its headquartered in New York City, so all your base are belong to US. Plus, most of the teams are Murican, and the current Undisputed Champions of all Hockey are none other than our USA#1 Capital's team, the US Murican Washington D.C. Capitals!

So again, All your hockey are belong to US anyway.:p

They closed my building on Tuesday because of the victory parade, 1 like = 1 prayer

TIL that the French speaking Quebec is producing almost all the Canadian Maple Syrup.
To get a more fair distribution between French and English speaking areas producing our national Maple Syrup, scouts were send out to look for prospects in English speaking areas.
One scout reported abominations taking place South of our border, where in some sneaky way Maple Syrup is produced, the biggest one Vermont.
We will therefore send our Sasquatch hordes to Vermont and then on to New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin to take hold of our national elixir.

Four out of the original six teams were in the US, and still are.

You were saying about "the state of hockey education"?

All your White House are burned by us!

Nope, thats fake news. The British burned the White House not the Canadians

I wonder what would happen if Trudeau took a stronger stance and actively tried to goad Trump.
"Didn't you guys burn down the White House."
"Yes, and if keep going like this we may have to do it again !"

You're forgetting your Hockey 101

The NHL evolved out of the NHA, which was a Canadian lague operating in Ontario and Quebec.

In short, the NHA was a Canadian league, and the NHL is, was, and always has been an American league that allows Canadian teams as a gesture of good will. :mischief:

Not all the hockey in Canada is contained within the NHL. :coffee:

Trudeau has much more class than that.

Besides, why be openly rude when you can just give Trump a framed photo of the first hotel his grandfather owned in British Columbia... which Trump's groupies were impressed with, but which was in reality nothing more than a brothel? We had a good laugh about that on this side of the border.

Too bad Trudeau just doesn't have it in him to actually stand up for himself.
In what way?

Trudeau grew up in 24 Sussex Drive, in Ottawa. That's the Canadian equivalent of the White House, and he also traveled extensively with his father, Pierre Trudeau. He's met more heads of state than most of us have ever heard of, and learned diplomacy first-hand.

Diplomacy is something your president is totally clueless about. Trump doesn't understand the first thing about it.

I'm not sure there was really a difference then.
There was only even a perceived difference if you were Canadien or Acadien (former denizens of New France who still spoke French and maintained New France colonial culture) or Indigenous.

The Star Spangled banner is for me to poop on
Or take a knee... apparently its WAAAAY more disrespectful and offensive to "real" Muricans... or so I've heard.

Anyway, let's end this... I got yer Star Spangled Banner right here... Enjoy:

TL;DR the glorious ladies of the US America#1 spectacularly defeated the Canadians in hockey to win Gold at the 2018 Olympics

ALL YOUR HOCKEY ARE BELONG TO US
Not all the hockey in Canada is contained within the NHL. :coffee:
Worldsbesthockey is wholly contained within the NHL. That is beyond dispute even for a fine Canadian lass. ;)
Too bad Trudeau just doesn't have it in him to actually stand up for himself.
Nah, he did, he did! He stood up to the Donald... albeit in a very apologetic, polite, Canadian way... but he damn sure told Trump that he was for Canada first and he was fighting back. Dude stood up for his country. I will give him that.

He stood up in a diplomatic, adult way. He wasn't actually apologizing for anything.

It's an interesting development here... what Donald Trump may have done because of his boorish tweets and his subordinates' even more boorish blustering is guarantee that the Liberals will win re-election next year, depending on what happens in the meantime. It's unusual for both the Reformacons and their predecessors the Progressive Conservatives to both defend Justin Trudeau's actions, but it happened.

He stood up in a diplomatic, adult way.

Bah! There's no room for any of that in international politics. If you aren't showing utter contempt for your opponents, you're doing it wrong. And the more childish your insults, the better. In fact, I'm very, very disappointed Trump didn't call Trudeau a poopyhead while sticking his tongue out at him.
