An analysis of provisional ballots in PA has shown they are breaking blue at a 3:1 clip. This means we can expect that counting these votes will only increase Biden's lead there which makes it much easier for the networks to call.

I don't think it is possible for the Democrats to win the rural vote, barring any unique factors like college town or demographics. The Democrat brand is just too toxic. No matter how much rural areas say they aren't interested in a culture war and just want rural healthcare and economic development (and how many urban/suburban Democrats are going to say no to increased health care spending to win votes?); those areas consistently vote against Democrats offering such things and vote for the party least open to such policies. Rather than organize and pressure their congresscritters into taking action on rural healthcare and economic development, it really seems to me rural areas are content to whine about culture war issues and how those darn Democrats don't represent my interests.

Pretty vanilla take. Win? You need margins. Like Republicans pursue and sometimes get with Hispanics. That's a long term winning strategy. You'd be surprised, though, particularly with local branding(which is what you need to carry you up on nationals). Is it Florida the last standing statewide Democrat leads their department of Ag or something? If you can do the job, they tend to keep you. No statewide R's in say, IL. The party purges from the bricks are a bit more hardnosed about things.

Absolutely nothing to do with it. News outlets very very cautious on making the call.

Closing wins in these other states irrelevant as far as electoral victory, but the other states relevant for the mandate.
