The Presidency as well as other government positions ala VP is protected from such "criminal" indictments via the SCOTUS ruling 1982 Nixon v. Fitzgerald
-Presidential Immunity
-Absolute Immunity
-Qualified Immunity
These would be your three legal terms which protects those who hold government positions, office, etc.
The only time a member of the government may be tried, sued, etc for a specific action is if it can be proven to be outside the scope of his office held. Thus "illegal wars" as has been mentioned in the numerous times in the past few pages are well within the purview of the office of the presidency, VP, and by extension of voting Senators and Congressmen. Outside of this President Trump will be liable for actions committed prior to his Presidency as they had no official government purpose as it was prior to him holding office.
And, thus, the United States ceased to be a Republic in 1982, and became a "semi-elective dictatorship restricted by a partially-representative, but unaccountable and non-transparent to it's constituents, legislative branch and Federal divisions of power between National and State governments," with powerful, de facto tolerated, and encouraged, corruption and bribery by corporate lobbies and moneyed, special interest groups, and the whole set of principals and ideals the nation was founded on died, 199 years after the Treaty of Paris. Thank-you for bringing this act of "judicial national suicide and diminutive chrysalid mutation," - and arguably act of high treason of the worst sort by that particular Supreme Court bench - to my attention.
