The Presidency as well as other government positions ala VP is protected from such "criminal" indictments via the SCOTUS ruling 1982 Nixon v. Fitzgerald

-Presidential Immunity
-Absolute Immunity
-Qualified Immunity

These would be your three legal terms which protects those who hold government positions, office, etc.

The only time a member of the government may be tried, sued, etc for a specific action is if it can be proven to be outside the scope of his office held. Thus "illegal wars" as has been mentioned in the numerous times in the past few pages are well within the purview of the office of the presidency, VP, and by extension of voting Senators and Congressmen. Outside of this President Trump will be liable for actions committed prior to his Presidency as they had no official government purpose as it was prior to him holding office.

And, thus, the United States ceased to be a Republic in 1982, and became a "semi-elective dictatorship restricted by a partially-representative, but unaccountable and non-transparent to it's constituents, legislative branch and Federal divisions of power between National and State governments," with powerful, de facto tolerated, and encouraged, corruption and bribery by corporate lobbies and moneyed, special interest groups, and the whole set of principals and ideals the nation was founded on died, 199 years after the Treaty of Paris. Thank-you for bringing this act of "judicial national suicide and diminutive chrysalid mutation," - and arguably act of high treason of the worst sort by that particular Supreme Court bench - to my attention.

No, they're not.

Any political party in the world that has won any significant elections is cutthroat. Some just sugarcoat it better than others.

If the Democrats were cutthroat the world would be a very different place.

No, it wouldn't. If the Global Greens were cutthroat, the world would be a very different place. Take off your partisan blinders. Politics is a cesspool, and it doesn't attract or breed the best of humanity.

"Sugarcoated Cutthroats" was the name of the B-52 cover band I played in in college.

I'm starting to find these serendipitous references to cover bands you played in becoming VERY dubious by now.

"Dubious Serendipity" was the title of a chapbook of haiku I published in my mid twenties, as it turns out.

No, they're not.

Well lets see:

1) They rigged their own primaries and got caught, so...
2) They shouted Russia Russia Russia and Putin's Puppet for 4 years
3) They used Russia to badger social media into censoring Americans
4) They lied to a Fisa court to spy on political opponents
5) They impeached a President for trying to investigate them
6) They armed terrorists to overthrow the Syrian government
7) They destroyed Libya and Yemen too
8) They solicited, endorsed or condoned domestic terrorism
9) They administered a cancel culture reminiscent of McCarthyism
10) They elected a mass murderer and called him the lesser evil

And they did it all while looking down their noses from the moral high ground

And don't forget the institutional suppression of Third Party and Independent candidates and all electoral representation of ideologies outside the narrowing bailiwicks of the Duopoly Parties' platforms by BOTH major parties - something that, though I've brought it up quite a few times, no one even wants to acknowledge the existence of as a problem, as a very real form of electoral fraud, malfeasance, and suppression.

The Ukraine issue is viewed as Trump trying to initiate an investigation into a corrupt Obama administration ("Biden used taxpayer dollars to attack someone investigating Hunter").

It's not seen as Trump using American taxdollars in order to either initiate a foreign investigation into an American citizen OR as an effort to provide clickbait with which to sully Biden.

Trump, of course, gets the benefit of the doubt here. He'd already uncovered Obama corruption on his own dime with huge success. He's not the type to use clickbait lies to attack an opponent.

Senate Democrats threatened Ukraine to help investigate Trump first and Trump gets the benefit of the doubt because there is no doubt the Bidens sullied themselves

Biden at 79 mil and some change. Can he break 80? Holy hells.

If the Democrats were cutthroat the world would be a very different place.

**** Tamnany Hall would be absolutely ashamed of the Dems today just in their tactics (to say nothing of party drift) while probably saying the Republicans took their playbook and wrote a thesaurus to add to it.

You mean you give Trump the benefit of the doubt because you, like him, are a liar and a charlatan.

It really is too bad that Trump crapped all his credibility before he was allowed to do anything important, eh? Don't think I'm defending Hunter and Joe here, I'm not. I'm honestly lamenting that the (R) chose a terrible liar to spearhead important issues

Trump fires election security official who contradicted him

Donald Trump says he has fired a top election official who contradicted the US president's claims of voter fraud.

President Trump said he "terminated" Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (Cisa) chief Chris Krebs for his "highly inaccurate" remarks on vote integrity.

Mr Trump has refused to concede the US election, and has made unsubstantiated claims of "massive" voter fraud.

Election officials said the vote was the "most secure" in US history.

Mr Krebs is the latest official to be dismissed by the US president following his defeat, with Defense Secretary Mark Esper also shown the door amid reports Mr Trump doubted the Pentagon chief's loyalty.

There is speculation in Washington DC that before Mr Trump leaves office in January, CIA director Gina Haspel and FBI director Christopher Wray could also be for the chopping block.
