My mod currently under construction, The Age of Man, has approximately 90 new city improvements for a wide range of civilizations. I have depended on C3C graphics, previously-made improvement graphics, and a laundry list of requests that I've made to Ukas. But I've also taken the liberty of making my own graphics as well, and I've decided to share them with you... if I make any more, I'll post them here.

In the mod, these are just regular improvements, so I've included no wonder splashes. I'm sure Rufus or Ukas could easily provide any if people really want them... yeah, this is pretty no frills :D

We have in order from left to right:

Calmecac - Although I don't actually know what the calmecacs looked like, this is my representation of one. A Calmecac was an Aztec military school for the elite children of the Aztec empire.

Sacred Cenote - In Mayan culture, sacrifices to the gods were often made by throwing people into cenotes... cenotes are wonders of geology that are formed by rainwater eroding large areas of limestone creating deep caverns filled with usually clear, blue water.

Tribute Authority - Just an Aztec building that in the mod gives a bonus in trade.

Millet - A district of a Turkish city where non-Muslims were contained, free to practice their own religion but at the expense of having to pay a tax.

Hillfort - the Iron Age people of Europe used to build primitive fortifications called Hillforts.

Tribute Depot - Although not actually a real structure, the buildings inside the walls are what actual Aztec granaries looked like... their odd design with a sort of goblet-shaped base was intended to keep out squirrels. I may release a version with just one granary for MesoAmerican mods.

Mission - The classic old Spanish-style mission as seen in Old West movies.

Telpochalli - This is almost certainly not what a telpochalli (the commoner Aztec school) looked like, you can use it for whatever you want. I think I'm going to wind up changing this graphic with something else later that's more school-like.

Nice, very nice! You are a Jack-of-all-trades methinks... :)

I'm definitely going to be releasing at least two more: A Muslim medressa and ribat, which function as a university and mission/fort respectively.

I'm going to probably wind up making several Indian/Hindu buildings as well: Mandir and Agrahara.

And unfortunately, I'll have to build the Iroquois Longhouse from scratch I believe since I've not seen any buildings on the net that resemble what I need.

And there will probably be more buildings I'll need that will look a bit more just like generic buildings that differ by cultural architectural style... I need a lot of bureaucratic structures which will really not have a whole lot of specificity to them.

All in all, while the building materials I've gotten from the net are great, I think a lot of these new ones are going to have to be made from scratch... so I'll definitely get to flex my modeling muscles in the near future ;)

Very nice :D

I especially like the calmecac and mission graphics. I think I'll use the calmecac as the university graphic for American cultures in my mod. Thanks DPII!

The Colors are very Vibrant, and everything is wholly nice looking.

Nice! I love the Aztec Tribute Authority and the Millet. I still owe you some help on the mod... Especially after you put those screenies up for me. Is there anything specific you need ideas on still? Point me to the thread or PM me. (Better yet, E-mail me!) I've got an entire AP World History book at my fingertips... mwahahahahaha...

Hillfort is my favorite! And that Cenute is strangely captivating to look at. Very good buildings you have here. :goodjob:

Btw, have a half made mission but no it moves to the end of my list to wait for those sunny no-rush days far far ahead.
