I think he's just yet another wacko on the street. While I'm surprised his bullet actually hit the White House, I'm not surprised that he tried. Hopefully, he'll have the book thrown at him so we'll never have to see the likes of him again.

This guy's an idiot - not only does he not do his research and know the President's away(given that whenever a President makes visits, it's kind of hard NOT to hear), but he leaves a receipt that helps them track down his identity?

Thank God this wasn't a smart assassin, or someone could have been easily killed.

At least the windows are pretty bulletproof it sounds like - he only managed to crack them. Sounds like they didn't get inside. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Hopefully he gets the maximum sentence.

I wouldn't call this an assassination attempt. Sounds more like a messed up guy with a gun. An assassin has a plan, but this guy just shot a gun at the White House.
