I was thinking about finally adding some Civilopedia Icons for the resources I had added to my own personal mod. In the process, I started making generic backgrounds so I could use 'em. Well, I thought some of you might find it useful. So, here it is. They are the Yellow, Blue, and Red (large and small) resource icons, the large unit background, and the large building background (these last two are easily resized for the small icon).

Now, keep in mind, you'll have to adjust the pallets a bit to accomodate different images. I'm not sure of the best procedure. You could increase colors to 16 bit temporarily, paste in a new image, then decrease colors back to 256.

However, I'm not sure if you have to leave the last few colors as bright green, pink, pink, pink, pink.

Does anyone know? And, if yes, is there a better way?

Thanks,

CK

I go to RGB, make the image I want and then reduce to 256 colours. In photoshop I get the transparencies right by going to Image\Mode *something* \ Indexed colors.
I choose black and white as forced colors (don't click ok yet), and then choose custom (at forced, again). This brings up the black and white first in the palette (the other colours are all greyed out), and you can double click on them. I do that, and change the black to magenta (easiest by using the 255, 0, 255 RGB values) and the white to green (0, 255, 0).

CK, you only have to think of two colours that shouldn't be in the pic, the first two (in photoshop) or the last two (in PSP). Not five ;)
