I am reminded of all the times when the guys here have wondered why there aren't more women who post in OT. Comments like this don't serve as much of a welcoming attitude.

What's a vBulletin?

At the very bottom of the page, you will see this: "Powered by vBulletin®". In other words, it's the software that runs this forum and every other vBulletin forum. There are several versions in use, and we're not using the most up-to-date one. I honestly think it would help fix some of the ongoing glitches around here if we at least upgraded to something newer than what we have.

But since there may be $$$ involved, obviously it's Thunderfall's decision to make.

No. Your assertion that wanting to talk about dick pics is scaring away women doesn't really hold up. Jezebel, a blog both written and read, in very large part, by women talks about dick pics. Quite a lot, actually. So I don't think that's quite it.

And I'm sure it does violate the 1-click rule. But my point was achieved, so what happens to it now is largely irrelevant.

Well, it may not be scaring them away, but it's certainly not something that's an inducement for me to stick around OT.

RE: vBulletin - the decision not to upgrade from this version was actually a deliberate one (at least for the first few years). I believe a licence for the next version (v4?) was bought, but never exercised because it was generally considered to be inferior. The version after that, though, is probably a different story.

So there's a version that's newer than the inferior one that was paid for but never used? If there are no significant problems with that one, why not upgrade? Plainly the current one has problems, and they're not going to get fixed by ignoring the situation.

I'd say the end of the year is the not too distant future. Though keep in mind that's saying an upgrade is likely by then, not a certainty.
