DMI XI - Hyborem's Whisper (FfH2)

Unless Orthus waits until he is fully promoted he does not really stand a chance against a couple of fortified warriors. we will not be able to hunt him maybe :)
 
Stopped philo as I felt cottages would be more helpful. Finished Edu and Philo.
Killed lots of barbs, but I inherited a bit of Immy's luck :sad:
Orthus was slain in a far away land. We finally met another baddy, Flauros.
On my last turn, FoL was founded in a distant land.

I think we should cast Worldbreak on our last turn as Sheaim to avoid it being used on us. Sorry for the terse report, the Red Sox and Yankees are playing.

Good point on world break. Another thing to consider is switch out of AV near end of infernal pact. This seems to increase the odds of Hyborem getting Rosier the Fallen. Once the research is started, you can switch out of AV and still research IP.

With Flaurous, expect river of blood soom.

Wait- do we need to be in AV to research IP, or just to begin researching it?
 
Reverend, in my practice games, to start IP you must be AV. Once started you can change out of AV and still research IP.

Do we plan on another city? Options look pretty weak. I'll slow build a settler ( to inhibit groth).
 
Played 24 turns, upto the point I completed the mage guild in Galvehome.

I'll research AH after WotW since that finishes 5 turns before the GS is born.

102 - Arendal converts to FotL. Galveholm completes brewery, start another warrior.

103 - Song of Autumn BIFL.

104 - Warrior in, start another. Like some more myself.

Flourous' scouts are helping. I count four and haven't seen a barb yet. Elf hunter to the south and luchuirp scout to the west.

107 - Warrior in. Start settler in Galvehome (18 turns).

110 - I have a weed moment; didn't notice the happy cap so I take off settler and start obelisk to continue groth in Galvehome. Start a brewery
in Grottiburg.

111 - WotW done, start AH. Time is five turns which is when GS is born. GS will bulb KotE so we can start on CoS. Corn guard wins against
goblin. I do not switch to slavery.

116 - GS born, bulb CoS and start mage guild at Galvehome. 32 turns at 90% till AV.

121 IBT - West warrior beat by a goblin.

123 IBT - declined OB with Luchuirp. Didn't see the point since to trade route exists.

124 - Mage guild done. I set construction to an adept. A settler is still in the que.

Minor barb activity in the south. The workers built some more cottages and mined the plains hill near Grottiburg. Now they are working the road network to improve defensive maneuvering.

Set research back to 100% (-3gpt) for 19 turns on CoS.

Lol. We're the Sheaim. I think its been pretty corrupted already.
 
All seems to be going well in the Kingdom of the Sheaim.

The population of Galveholm is stabilised at 8.

We meet our closest neighbour.



Flauros casts River of Blood.



We train an adept who builds a skeleton.

We interrupt some sort of global conference. Note the location revealed a turn or two later of Arendel.



Arendel starts her usual push for religious victory and has Flauros and Garrim convert to FoL, 36% already. We have to keep our borders closed to these three.

Next turn Flauros wants OB, no way boyo.

Ashen Veil is in, we convert and start Infernal Pact (35 turns). We should convert out again with 1 turn left on Infernal Pact (as the Sheaim will have a 5 or 10 turn wait until they can convert again).





We have a settler with escort for the lands of the east.

Flauros has Trade. I see no real problem in trading to get Hunting and Writing if we can but have not done so.

That would be my suggestion, but it's fine with me also if either slowcar or myself takes the game on Tuesday.
 
i am back in. i would have used the GS for the religious wonder of the AV, guess it's too late to get a second one now. but this way we'll be a few turns earlier, maybe not too bad.
 
I played until turn 160, 16 turns, to bring us to a round number again. Good news. We're almost there, only 13 turns between us and the rampage :trouble: :spank: :D !

Well, this game seems to head in the intentioned direction finally. Just keep building warriors and work commerce tiles, and we're set. This game looks interesting enough with the Luichirp (whom I suspect to have founded RoK), Arendel and Einon together with Tebryn and Flauros. Arendel will become powerful very fast I deem...

Remember not to open borders to anyone and to switch out of AV with 1 turn to go an Infernal Pact. And please do every available trade on that last turn.
