NOTW L: The Immortals [Game Thread]

"In fact, you may need to do this before Day Ends today, because I still need time to perform the actual spell."

People may be glad to know that mana has been transferred out of my hands to a party that the regent's familiar with.

I would like to be spared today's lynch and be murdered tonight by vampires instead.

"I know I'm going to regret this.

I've just been informed that Seon is handing off his Chaos mana, which is precisely what I expect him to pretend to do to save himself.

And yet, if he's innocent, we're about to find out, because someone HE doesn't even trust and is DEFINITELY not in league with him is about to find Chaos mana in his chambers tonight if he's telling the truth. In fact, if King Exar is around, this may yet happen before Day Ends.

As such, I would welcome some kind of counter-wagon to Seon. Name your suspects.

I can go with Backwards Logic, or Verarde, right now.

If that Chaos Mana is not actually in someone else's possession by end of day, my vote returns to you, Seon-y boy.

I swear it on your life, and mine."

Why do you care about letting him fulfill his personal goal? I was under the impression you thought he was guilty. Is it in vogue now to help those we accuse achieve their dreams?

I'm interested in why you keep coming up with excuses to not lynch Seon, day after day.

"This is precisely why I'm about to regret this.

As soon as the Chaos mana is in the hands of someone, I'll have them SHOW the mana to absolutely every single person who asks.

Removing the Chaos mana from Seon means the following:

1) It will expend precisely one lynch to lynch him, not two

2) We can even destroy/convert the mana into something like, I dunno, Death Mana for King Exar. Which you will all be able to see happen right before your eyes.

3) If Seon is guilty, he's so very, very, very dead, that I can afford slightly more patience. And again, if the Mana is not transferred, Seon is lynched today and the Chaos Mana is expended in the process.

4) I am still concerned about Seon being something that can harm us when we attack him, and that his PG is a ruse. As such, I'll consult with my vampire friends and discuss the matter of whether we attack him to death, or lynch him once his chaos mana is gone.

Is any of this unreasonable or far-fetched?

This council is a democracy. Seon has told me he will still hand over the Chaos mana even if I fail to convince people to lynch anyone else.

As such, keep voting him if you like."

The Regent spots King Exar returning to the chambers.

"Well, if Seon is being truthful, hopefully I am about to find out.

I'm prepared to reverse my vote after I find out he's lying."

"According to Exar, the Mana cannot legally become someone else's property for 24 hours after the transfer request"

Spoiler :
(OOC 24 real time hours)
"Which means I'll have no way of knowing whether Seon is being truthful until after it is too late for it to matter."

Which is what I had expected.

I'm not gonna take back my word, pizza, that chaos mana is being sent to that person, as long as you keep your end of the bargain.

"Well as is my understanding, this means you will be lynched with it still in your possession, before the item even gets transferred.

It simply goes up for the vote tomorrow, or you're using it to defend yourself.

I'm keeping my word, if you're innocent you need to keep yours, or it will be difficult to call this anything but sabotage of the innocent team."

"You know what, I'm not even going to go there.

Self-protecting from the lynch as an innocent isn't sabotage.

It's REALLY unwise if you're just going to be lynched again, and I will be extremely disappointed, but it's not sabotage. Do as you feel necessary."

Well, I currently haven't sent king exam anything to change my transfer order so it will either turn up to that person tonight or it will appear beside my body tomorrow.

"If you're being honest about this, I thank you. This is a much better outcome regardless of what you are. If you die as an honorable man, your deed will be remembered."

Arguably, self-protecting from the lynch can be the right choice as innocent. After all, you know you're innocent and your death would hurt the town. But if you don't have some way of making the town not lynch you the following day, then it's the wrong move and does nothing but waste time.

{OOC: Seon, help me out here. Have you admitted somewhere back there in the thread to being the cause of the Sheaim-Calabim relations drop last night? Or are you claiming innocent of that and the real culprit's still up in the air?}

I for one don't trust Seon. As Pizza said, if his claims are correct, he will just survive today's lynch and the mana will then be transferred or put up for vote tomorrow morning. If his claims are false then he will die in today's lynch and be reveled to be the enemy. In either case, lynching him (or her) is the correct decision

OOC: The mana will actually be consumed if he uses it today.

So he's a viable lynch today/tomorrow regardless of what he does right now.

I concur.

Self-protect from lynch here is 100% anti-innocent, because he has no powers or abilities which can exonerate him. In fact they all look pretty difficult to explain.

So basically we have put seon in a box whereby there is no other option but to lynch him?

So basically we have put seon in a box whereby there is no other option but to lynch him?

"We always have choices.

However, it's difficult to argue the point- Seon either is guilty or is innocent.

If he's innocent, for one, he shouldn't have put us in this situation to begin with by threatening to use chaos mana to waste our lynches, and lying to everyone in this council.

If he's innocent, we should be lynching Demons instead of Seon.

But that requires doing a cold read of Seon, and reaching down deep in your manly balls and pulling out testicular fortitude enough to not kill him, even though he's done scummy things, looks totally scummy based on his powers and goals, and his behavior, and his lies...

And yet the correct move is still lynch a Demon. Even after all that.

And then of course, if you're wrong about Seon being innocent, we all look really really foolish.

I'm the kind of guy who is a little bit afraid to look foolish, but brave enough to make really gutsy calls that look completely scummy and wrong. Like saying someone is innocent even after I've personally scanned them as totally corrupt.

That's the kind of fortitude you'd need here to not lynch Seon.

If you don't, and the Chaos mana actually ends up in my hands, I'll show it to everyone, and I'll personally melt the thing down and turn it into Death Mana and give it to Exar.

And we will have learned something very interesting about Seon's reliability regardless of what he actually is.

But I can't make that argument. That's a personal judgment call you all must make.

Personally, I'm willing to lynch suspected Demons and be brave.

But then, I'm a really crazy SOB who does really crazy things."
