Random Raves XXVI: I Get High With a Little Help from My Friends

Thundersnow is shockingly chill, I'll have to admit.

I'm still going through these old floppy disks and I had to install another ancient program to open some proprietary files. Anyways this one asked that I put in a company name.

I'm getting tanned again just by going to and from school. :)

Lucky. I'm buried under inches of snow at school, and I can't leave.

Rave: I had no idea llamas serve as guard animals. They're hilariously awesome.

I just got out of rugby practice and went straight to class. I now have to spend the next 2.5 hours listening to a crappy prof, wearing athletic shorts. It's 26 degrees outside. I suppose I'm pretty grateful to be indoors, but this is still pretty unpleasant.

Edit: And apparently I can't read anymore.

freezing rain overnight so naturally a three-hour delay. hahahahaha

That's it? When I lived in Fayetteville, if they saw a snowflake, everything shut down for a week.
;)

Anyways, SNOW SNOW GLORIOUS SNOW

Actually having to march home from night class was awesome, a truly winter experience.

I walked in to class yesterday and it was all winter-wonderlandy for a good five minutes. Then the freezing rain and hail started to slice my face up. It was pouring glass shards in me and thats no fun. We never even got snow, just ice falling from the sky all day, which was another first for me.

If I shout SCREW MISSOURI loud enough, do y'all think it will bait VRWCAgent into posting again? Miss that guys posts...

I'm having a serious meltdown here. I can't contain myself.

Boeing is hiring.

They are hiring student interns.

They want these student interns to work on this:

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

I know a guy at Boeing. I am going to make this happen, even if I have to trade a kidney for a bus ride down to Huntsville to convince them in person that they need me. This rocket cannot lift off without my input. I know this because I was made to do this. I spent 4 effing years going from PRE-Algebra to Differential Equations, all so I could transfer to a real school just so I'd have this chance to apply for this job.

I will make this happen. OMGOMGOMG

meltdown emminent

Wait, what about that nailed interview and the job associated with it?

That was with a valve company. Though I tell myself rocket engines have lots of valves, it's not my dream job. So I am still looking for other jobs and this SLS job with Boeing just opened up (and it is my dream job) so I am going for it.

The valve company job is not even a sure thing either because even though I nailed the interview, it will be up to HR people to make the final decision to call me back. My University was the last one they recruited at, so even though the recruiter told me they are desperate for help and have to hire more interns than they initially thought, I am still competing with a ton of other students from multiple disciplines.

It sucks that I nailed the interview but I still feel like I have low odds of getting a callback to interview in Iowa. :/

And as for the Boeing job, I have no hope at all of getting even an interview. I just got hyper-excited when I saw the job posting.

I was about to wish you luck but what happened?
Well I have hit the point where my study time is more valuable than what I get paid as a student worker. I worked 20 hr/week last semester and it hurt my grades. So I tried to quit working for this semester so I could focus on studying but they coerced me into staying. However, I have cut my hours down to just 3 per week and will be quitting altogether soon.

It will help my studying but I won't have a job lined up for the summer (the position I have converts to full time when class isn't in session). Thats one reason why I need an internship for the summer.

Though if worse comes to worse we can live off our savings during the summer.

Aww. :(

At least, moar time for CFC. :D

Spoiler :
And moar time to respond to pm's. :mischief:

Possibly. I haven't had a summer 'off' since high school so it's tempting to bum around like normal college students. But I could also take a course or two and even if an internship doesn't materialize, I have never had problems lining up a job of some sort. So chances are I will do something other than bum and consequently won't have a ton of time for CFC. We'll see, everything is up in the air.

A customer yesterday had a Mazda Tribute to trade in. After the valuation he asked me what I thought of it.

I said (mostly for my own amusement as I figured it would slip under the radar) "Well, it's not the greatest car in the world"

Quick as flash, he replied "Yeah, it's just a Tribute"

And we both pissed ourselves laughing and business ensued.

This vanilla coke is hitting the spot after a juicy burger done medium rare with an onion ring, pepper jack cheese, bacon and potato bun. Awww baby this is the life.
