And because it is impossible to screen every individual person and every individual pint of blood

This isn't accurate, everyone who donates blood in Canada is individually tested for Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C, HIV 1 and 2, Human T-Cell lymphotropic virus HTLV-I and II,
West Nile Virus and Chagas Disease.

So why can't gay people donate blood.

On our screenings at least, there are no questions about being gay. You're barred from donating if you're a man who's had sex with a man since 1977, regardless of whether you're gay.

I went on Rotten Tomatoes to check out some movie stuff . I've never signed up to anything or entered any details , however it gave me the option to rate the film and had my Facebook photo there ?? I always use the same computer . What's happening ?

Facebook is taking over the Internet.

Facebook has been doing this for ages - I think it gets the account you're currently logged in to and puts your profile picture there with a like button.

Which culture can be said to have the slackest work ethic?

Some ancient members of my family lived in south-east asia for a while, singapore i think.
Whilst the Chinese, Indians and Europeans got up and went to work - the Malay's just slacked around all day. There favourite word was "later" [i'll do it later].

Which culture can be said to have the slackest work ethic?
So as to encompass all cultures with slackest work ethics while not being racist, I'll just say American.

Which culture can be said to have the slackest work ethic?
I'd say that work ethic varies more within any given culture on a class basis than between cultures. The difference in work ethic between a British aristocrat and an upper class Briton and a working class Briton is very likely to be far greater than that between a working class Briton and a working class Indian.

(Noting that "work ethic" has some implications of input/reward; I'm perfectly aware that many upper-class folk work quite hard, but that means rather less when you're on £1.5M/year than on £15K/year.)

Alright, I'd like to know possible answers for the middle and working classes then.

None of them because that's a ridiculous question.
What a fascinating non-answer, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

The US has the highest labor productivity in the world. :nope:

Isn't that due more to very high levels of capital investment?

It's impossible to attribute a work ethic to one culture or another. What do you mean by culture? If you include religion, then ascetic religions like Jainism or less-so Hinduism and maybe Christianity would be less productive than maybe Buddhism or maybe Christianity. But of course you can interpret most religious texts to go either way on the value of making money or being productive in your work. However, if you mean cultural areas like Western Europe or Eastern Europe or Eastern Asia, it's almost impossible to say without reverting to somewhat meaningless statistics on the number of hours worked or to resort to stereotypes.

The US does have a high level of capital investment. Americans also work their butts off. The idea that we're lazy is just bad managers and political ranters.

I am thinking in terms of nationality, preferably native-born people.

somewhat meaningless statistics on the number of hours worked

Oh do pray tell, how does the typical length of one's working day have absolutely zero correlation with one's work ethic?

Well sure, but our production rate would be even higher if we didn't have [insert culture with a poor work ethic].

The determination of hours is made by the employer. I don't see how it applies to how driven the employee is if the employer gives them more or less hours.
