Oxford would be alright, I have a friend there that I haven't seen in 3 years or so, so I can justify the extra money spent either way.

I'd probably prefer London though, because I'm lazy.

hmmm i can maybe stay with a Uni friend at oxford.

I'd prefer manchester as anywhere would be in walking distance :D

as ram said though it'll be London my guess is 10 pages though with this strong support for Oxford.

Yup. But not in December!! Because I won't be able to get time off work, as I already need a weekend off and then a bit more then anyways. And December in a shop = busy busy busy.

Mebbe late November though...i'm gonna be in London anyways on November 27th (a monday..to see Tool) so could possiably get that weekend off...travel up saturday morning stay with a friend kinda thing.

Well, Oxford's a lot smaller than London, with no massive shops, but in the beer and food department, we are pretty well stocked.

We've also got a number of nice museums, such as the Pitt Rivers, which is a world renound anthropological museum, and a nice natural history museum, very old (get your ass down here, Carlos :D)

London, preferably. And I suggest November rather than December, if possible.

I'd prefer a weekday to a weekend, but I guess I might be able to persuade myself to put up with the trains etc on a Saturday once more (they were shot to hell last night, and as I'd already had a flight delay and a tube delay, finding the trains no longer wanted to come near Marks Tey was a bit upsetting. Never travel on a Saturday, that's the learning).

Oxford sounds a good central location and one that I could drive to.

:) You know, I might move to the UK. But I'm not sure if this is going to happen in January, March, or September 2007. And I could only come to some place close to Lonond unfortunately. If you'll ever do an "UK CFC meetup mark III", somewhere near London, then count me in.

I might be interested. Anywhere in the South would be fine with me, my transport options are limited. Oxford sounds ideal actually..!

Another vote for Oxford. I'll meet everyone if you come here.
I'll be in the US for much of December though, so if that's the sort of timing, I will probably not be around.

I voted for London, nice and easy to get into and out of late by train. I could do Oxford (or elsewhere - I had been wondering about Cambridge) but would probably drive there which would mean no booze for me :(. But it's got to be London if Holly and Whomp can make it! Timing wise, as long as it's a weekend I can make pretty much anytime.

As Ram said, I'm not married, so if Kan wants to propose we might be able to come up with a wedding to invite Rik to. Kan might get a bit of a shock when he sees the old hag he's proposed to though....

We could have a CFC wedding though. A battleship to represent Thunderfall, the whole UK CFC crowd as our witnesses. Etc etc.

I said i'd go last time and didn't. So here I am saying i'll go again.

Currently resident in London. (yeah yeah I know it always says Worthing, but home is where the heart lies, right?)

Since Oxford and London are the frontrunners, how about we compromise and go to Oxford Street in London? No? Ok ;)

Thanks for the consideration Furiey. Don't worry about venue. We travel well especially if Kan is proposing! :D

Sounds good to me - and it's a typical Londoner's attempt at a compromise, if I may say so.

For what it's worth, I'll pass if you're doing it in Oxford. Too far away, and IMHO a quite dreary place with inhabitants who are far too proud of themselves and their self-satisfied town. (Nothing personal, noncon... ;))

I must throw Leeds into the mix simply because it's the best night out I've ever been. Having said that, I don't want you Southern Pooftees realising how great the North is and moving up here so Darn Sarth it is.

I vote Cambridge. I have a friend who lives there so it would save me $$ by staying with him :smug:

I would need to think of something so that I retain my internet annonymity. Any Ideas?
