We have one in Newcastle.. its called a Pub...

BCLG are you intent in staying down there.. random thoughts of getting a really early train on sat, returning on a very very early train on sunday to avoid hotel cost...

You could always go to a club on the saturday night that closes at 6 or 7am and just get a train home at 9 on sunday!

Thats what i thought we were going to end up doing.....is that not what's actually happening???

but yeah ill probs end up doin that! :D

Just the one?

You poor, poor southerners ;)

As for what's actually happening on the day, I don't think we've actually gotten beyond 'meet at 11am on Saturday somewhere.'

Last time the plan was: meet->shopping->museum->eat

What we actually did was: meet->beer->food->beer->food->beer

Although they may well have been another beer in there somewhere.
Yeah pretty much!

Well when we say 'somehwere' make it 'somewhere in Central London, most likley a coffe shop, most likely near Tottenham Court Road tibe station!' though we still need to conforim.

Shopping and museum are turn-offs for me, personally. Not that I don't love the museums, but if I'm doing that sort of thing, I'll take the kids rather than hang around with you lot :p Alternating alcohol and food sounds good to me, OTOH. If necessary, I'm happy being dropped off anywhere that serves a decent margerita while the rest of you do shopping and museums - after three or four, I doubt if I'll be bothered about being picked back up or not...

Eating's cheating.

Well warm beer is almost bread... :mischief:

Irish Breakfast? Guiness with Baileys and an Egg in it? Yummy

EW!@ that sounds revolting!

Well up for finishing off at a club then hungover train home :_)

Seems live the trip down isnt going to be shared....

Perhaps its worth a tenner rather than 20... you get a train that would hook up with my journey, or visa versa and it wouldnt be too expencive to get a journey together?

Say what now? :S I dont mind tbh but im really looking forward to the hungover train home at 9 the next day :D but aye if we can find a train where its only like a tenner each to meet inbetweeny then go for it.

we could make it into a competition so others do it for us :mischief:

Aha, indeed...i would gander it could even be new thread worthy :)

Basically i was looking at early train sat morning (prob leave newcastle near 6am?) and return after an all nighter on the sunday?

Trains that go via birmingham or sheffield (so we could meet) cost about £20 more...so if we both dip in for one of us to do that.. its only £10 more.. worth it?

Abaddon, when I went to York we took a megabus for £16 or so to Leeds and then a train to York for £6 (w/ young person's rail card). It took about 6 hours but it's a hell of a lot less costly than a £40 train. If I were you I'd go on a megabus at some unspeakable hour in the morning and aim to get to Victoria Coach Station for 10am or so.

You would have thought one of them would be resourceful enough just to nick a car from somewhere and pick the other one up. Young people today, eh ?

Aye i spose that'd be more worth it, my train goes to Sheffield anyways-i have to change there i think so if you can get to there then we can just split twenty quid?

Or we could do what mise is suggesting-not sure what that is :D

and ram lam notice how for the majority i ignored you two with your senile old ramblings :p go back to playing chess.:mischief:
