For once in your life, can you not be condescending?

Unlike the display shown by the left in the last four years toward Trump since 2016. I do hope the best for Biden, if he wins, and hope he does not repeat the mistakes made by the Obama Administration.

I just hope the radical elements of the left don't create a commission that persecutes straight white males and makes em into third class citizens, and other insane revanchist ideas. I just want the culture war garbage to be done with and I'm left alone.

You make me laugh, you're barely one step away from claiming that the radical homocommunist, radisexual transdemocratic left are going to go around lynching poor, innocent white straight males, you're almost indistinguishable from a parody of a conservative

Come on, let's be honest. Trump was such an unbelievable hateful clown that you could NOT throw crap at him if you had even an ounce of dignity or common sense. He is a guy it's literally impossible to caricature FFS. The regressive left is certainly tons of toxic and hateful, but Trump was far worse. I'd say, if you are a Republican, you are the one that should despise him the most, as he's defiling your own party.

Also it's not like the right took Obama well either, lol. If we remember who was a big proponent of the birther conspiracy.

Fair enough.

"I just hope the radical elements of the left don't create a commission that persecutes straight white males and makes em into third class citizens, and other insane revanchist ideas. I just want the culture war garbage to be done with and I'm left alone."

I figured that was over-dramatization and in jest, so I responded likewise in a ridiculing manner. I was right in that, right? You were kidding there.

The Electoral College is not FPTP. It's worse than FPTP. FPTP is how what their House of Representatives uses, adopted from the British House of Commons (there weren't a lot of other elected national legislative bodies to model after in 1787) - one member per geographical electoral district, with the most votes (even if it is a small plurality) within the district, with each district supposed to be as close to each other in population as possible. THAT'S FPTP. The Electoral College is far wonkier, less representative, more easily manipulated, leads to far more cheated elections, and reinforces and empowers political Duopolies - in other words, yes, it is indeed a terrible system, antagonistic to true democracy or respect for the will of the people and the great enabler for the soft tyranny, beyond all true and realistic accountability and transparency by it's people, shown by the U.S. Government, regardless of which major party is in power for a VERY long time now...

Indeed, I've been wondering about these references to FPTP in this election, thinking it Does Not Mean What I Think It Means.

Here in Canada, we take FPTP to mean what we have, where our PM is almost NEVER representing a party with a majority of the popular vote, and indeed an elected PM's party may not even have the largest plurality of the popular vote.

Ironically, in 2015 we elected a government that promised we'd never have a FPTP election again. Yeah right.

Anyway, what part of the US elections is FPTP? (Besides House of Reps) I see the senators cannot get elected on pluralities alone as they are calling 2 runoff elections in GA.

I would describe the Electoral College as a "Winner takes all" situation. Except Nebraska and Maine.

Pretty much, send a few in the GoP are sick if him as well or not exactly backing his fraud claims.

I don't expect the Senate to go progressive but hopefully the GoP gets the message they di to do something minimal to run the country to win in the future.

No, they are actually serious

Now, let's see. If the high military brass had to decide, who would they choose - a former long-standing Chairman of Senate Military Affairs Committee who would give them the action they've been chomping at the bit for, or the most incompetent Commander-in-Chief they've had whose insulted them several times. This may be not a typical, stereotyped partisan decision, in this case, if they had to step in.
I don't live in USA but even for me it is obvious the military would prefer Biden any day. Trump seems to work for the Russians doing everything in his hand to weaken US political influence in the world.

Anyway I was not speaking about the military deciding who should be president, but keeping the current rule of the law for supporting whoever candidate wins the elections.

Hum seems a bit far-fetched no? Btw how's that bottle of Port? :D

haha

So no... I was not in delirium with my perhaps... generals

I guess I have to wait for what Biden is gonna say

I do not characterize most of the last 80 pages as hostile and openly belittling but maybe I am misreading.
Its not. I think that from election day up to today, not just CFC but the US in general has been mostly pretty damn civil, considering all we've been through these last 4 years. I think it may be about time to start patting ourselves on the back :D

Looking at PA and GA... Jo Jorgenson is in for a rough time. Her admittedly small percentages of the vote could have made the difference for Trump in both states. In fact, if we'd had ranked choice voting and the vast majority of Libertarians put Republican as their second choice... things might be looking very different right now.

Hey! I think I just made the Republican case for embracing ranked choice voting.
