Are you saying the count duration could stretch to infinity?

This could be one of Zeno's paradoxes.
No its just that this has dragged on for 4 full days and I'm sure volunteers have had to leave to go back to work and such. Each volunteer loss means the count itself slows down. It seems to me that the rate that ballots are counted has steadily fallen each day but I could be off.

You can, actually. There's fancy tech for that, but it's also something plants do entirely on their own.
Edit: See this for example: https://blogs.ei.columbia.edu/2018/11/27/carbon-dioxide-removal-climate-change/

Someone's been feeding you nonsense :(

The technology is too expensive and can't be made profitable. Otherwise this kind of stuff would be wide spread. I heard about this existing 20 years ago, so where the hell is it's implementation? No thank you, I'm not naïve, any one with half a brain would know that's fairy tech that can only be practical if it breaks the second law of thermodynamics. Never gonna happen. Just like how they say fusion is 30 years away, never gonna happen.

I read an article after Trump's election that put forward a pretty good argument that Putin would have preferred to work with Clinton. Clinton is a committed Atlanticist and places great value in maintaining the alliance with Europe - specifically Germany and France. France is always grumpy about the American role in Europe and Germany has surprisingly close economic and political ties with Russia they are loath to lose. Lean on Germany and stoke French grumpiness and Clinton is under pressure to soften her Russia stance to maintain good relations. Plus Clinton is more reliable than His Trumpiness and would have an easier time selling anything to deal with Russia to the US establishment.

But some of those ties between Germany and Russia were only maintained, because the entirety of Germany decided that the US government was literally insane. So when the US called to severe some of those ties, not only did those calls fall on deaf ears, they actually resulted in Germany doubling down on them, just in spite.

After four years of talking about incompetence, now you actually have a President who is not competent.
Honestly, I expected more from you.

So even if we achieved zero carbon emissions, the Earth will still continue to warm.
Yes, but not as quickly, which gives both ecosystems and people time to adapt. Part of the cost of AGW is the rapidity. Amortizing a cost out to a longer time period changes the entire cost/benefit analysis.

It also provides a ceiling to the damage.

As an aside, some people don't have optimism regarding alternative energy sources. This actually makes conservation more important, not less. It means there is no Plan B to work towards. As someone who thinks alternatives are possible, I am just interested in making sure that enough of the profits from fossil fuel go into the necessary R&D and future infrastructure changes. But if my only hope is to delay emissions to give ecosystems and people adaptation time, then conservations is more important.

We cannot even burn our proven reserves safely. We need to wean while there are still assets on BP's books.

If volunteers drop off quickly enough the counting might never get finished!

Congratulations. After four years of talking about incompetence, now you actually have a President who is not competent.
Please flesh out your argument OneJ. Please tell us how the guy who cooperated in getting America out of the worst crisis in decades is less competent than the guy who propelled you gleefully in to one.

Please? It will entertain me. I love to be entertained, so use that power of love :)

Thanks!

Wow. A bunch of stuff posted in two days. It seems talk radio is now conceding the election. Suits will continue and recounts will occur, but it seems to be pro-forma at this point. Congratulations. After four years of talking about incompetence, now you actually have a President who is not competent.

Jason Whitlock had an interesting take. He called it a parable of the power of love and the power of hate. Hate won.

How can hate have won when trump lost lol

it’s the GOP if you don’t buy into the zero tax let the poor and weak die and work to death modus operandi you are hateful. Extra points if you defend minorities.

Are you saying the count duration could stretch to infinity?

This could be one of Zeno's paradoxes.

Actually, if it dragged out long enough, Congress would be inaugurated and be empowered to do something, wouldn't they?

It would be sad if he what he was saying wasn't so dangerous. It seems like he genuinely believes that there is a massive conspiracy against him. How does one get so far divorced from reality?
I'm catching up on pages here, but I want to clarify something on this point. Yes, his speech is most certainly dangerous. However, he does not genuinely believe what he is saying. He is a liar. His words have the purpose of inciting, and in his mind, possibly disrupting the vote and changing the outcome.

It's also the same thing a lot of the pundits over on FoxNews are doing as well, like Sucker Carlson.

it’s the GOP if you don’t buy into the zero tax.

That hasn't been a traditional GOP trope. They didn't for get funds for their huge, overbloated military (that was only won two wars in the post-WW2 era - Granada and Desert Storm), corporate welfare schemes, arming and funding bloody-handed tyrants, guerilla groups, and terrorist groups abroad to stop other bloody-handed tyrants, guerilla groups, and terrorist from getting an upper hand, financing the largest, most well-prolific, and well-funded terrorist group in the world (the CIA), completely, and four Unconstitutional and illegal, but still operating, secret police agencies (KGB, Stasi, and Gestapo light), the NSA, the CSC, the FBI, and the DHS, and other horrid projects, out of donations and the pockets of their party members and corporate backers alone. Republicans just tend to have different priorities of tax burden distribution than Democrats. The big problem, and the big hoodwink, is that, the opposition party, at any given time, does not put much of a fight at all - only tokenism for the cameras, at best - in preventing the governing party from getting their tax scheme, regardless of whose in which position at any time. Also, Democratic budgets don't help the poor or minorities nearly as much as they should - in the riches country in the world - and many other First World Nations' do far more. It's really telling when Canadian Conservative Parties do more in this regard a lot of the time than U.S. Democrats often do, in results, not just rhetoric.
