He is relatively weak with black voters. The prevailing theories are
-Joe's coasting on his close ties to Obama (applies to Hillary in 2016 as well)
-black voters are cynical about white people's willingness to vote for real change thus biden is seen as the safe option to take out Trump
-Bernie does not have a history of working with black Democratic leadership and his campaign suffered kn 2016 because he did not make strong outreach efforts to black voters

I think all three are valid to some extent. It's worth pointing out that Bernie actually beats Biden among black voters under 30 iirc but Biden is completely domonant among older black voters.

It's less that he's unpalatable, it's that (and I'm basing this off @Sommerswerd's posts) black voters tend to go primarily to the candidate they think they can win the general.

I also think the Obama tie can't be discounted either.

Do you find this to be a realistic estimate as to why they voted for Biden?
I think it is just that he was Obama's vice president.

I think it's a realistic estimate as to why many people are voting for him. There has to be a ton of people like me who are fond of his Obama years but otherwise think he's not a great candidate.

But at the end of the day he's the devil you know and that counts for so much.

My point is he's done everything that could be reasonably expected to turn them out. It's not that they're turning out because they're not satisfied by him, it's that apparently they won't turn out for anything.

They turned out for him last time, when he was "the firebrand revolutionary who we can elect to burn it all down." There weren't enough to elect him. So he faced a choice. He either runs as "the firebrand revolutionary who can't get the votes to be elected but would burn it all down" or he makes some sort of compromise to get votes that involves not burning the country to the ground so the young people can have their "fresh start." Not really sure which of those he went for, but neither will turn out the youth vote.

And yes @GoodEnoughForMe Obama did manage to convince the youth vote that he was that firebrand and convince everyone else that he really wasn't at the same time. Deceptive? Probably. Are we lucky that it was the youth he deceived and not everyone else? In terms of the outcome, I think so, but I don't think it was just luck. The harsh truth is that the young will always be easier to deceive.

There comes a point where democratic primary voters will just vote for the democrat whether he has been right on their doorstep campaigning or not. Clearly, we are at that point.

Lighten up, it’s a good joke on a bleak political reality. Spicy maybe but they’ve earned it. Was it 65% Biden? And what 65% Republican in -18? I’m pretty sure most Alabaman Bernie supporters would see the humour.

Actually in the 2018 governors race in Alabama the Republican got less than 60% for the first time in a long time. Progress is being made. I actually did think your joke was funny, but would agree that it probably doesn't help...and it does sort of forward the idea that Sanders "movement" is a "write off whoever doesn't agree with us" sort of thing which is definitely not productive to drawing in the votes that he is currently lacking.

It's pretty simple, if Biden is the nomination, he has a small chance to win and only in the case he gets a plurality of delegates in the first round of primaries.
If he doesn't have a plurality, and still ends up being the candidate, he has already lost the election.

Second, your ongoing divisiveness as a non citizen encourages the re-election of the orange baboon among those who will be actually voting. Go be a Bernie supporter, tell everyone how great he is, but stop being a public Biden hater. There is no reason for that except to support Trump and create animosity among democrats.

I will assume you are just too involved to realize how ridiculous your claim that I influence the US election sounds. Long story short: I am not the issue with the Us elections, and as a poster I can obviously post without caring about your reaction.

Re Biden, I don't like him as a potus candidate, cause he is senile. I think he has a tiny chance of winning, assuming of course he gets a plurality of delegates. I think Trump is the massive favorite in an election against Biden.
