City graphics: Europe and Mediterranean - combined!

Where? Can you provide a link?

Theres Arne's African Citys...They are fantastic and look "Ace" in game as R8XFT would say.

R8XFT linked up two varietys of Goody Huts plus the Medival and Industrial era of the Latino City graphics to create Native American City graphics. I would have taken the present American industrial and modern for that however...but thats a non-issue.

Of the cultures that could still use their own cities there are:

Polynesians
South Asians(India, Kymer, Siam)
American(as in Canada and the USA)

There are probably more...but I can't think of anything else right now.

Any way someone could make an all ancient era city graphics for these? Like they did for Rise of Rome city graphics in conquest.

I'm not sure what your refering to.

R8XFT combined the european and mediterrenean culture groups (to make room for an african one) and Supa was referring to my cities in 'they are perfect' (at least I hope ;) )

btw, I think I might try some Indian subcontinent graphics next (or something like that)

I think I will do the same thing as last time for indian/south east asian graphics: combine city graphics (as I so much enjoy it :) ). A careful balance between MidEast, Asian, and even American would do the trick, I'd say. I am, however, not exactly sure what south east asian cities look like, but does this look any good? Suggestions are most welcome.

Thank you, Sword of Geddon. I would not have even thought to make the cities look like that. You (or anyone I guess) wouldn't have happened to find any pictures from mainland southeast asian or indonesian pictures? I want to get the best mix of them and indian I can.

Hey, 500th post! :king:  :whipped:
:spear:

Oh, excellent! Thanks again.

I think I'll make the middle ages a combination of ankor-wat style while throwing in some middle eastern building. It will probably take some work to balance the two and make them look good.

For industrial ages I'm definately going for that Birla temple look

And hey, I just thought of a couple places where I can get some graphics from :D

I'm using Paint Shop Pro 8. Just got it, so I haven't figured out everything yet, but it was surprisingly easy to get the hang of. Very handy and actually quite fun to use, IMO.

Bad news though, I lost all the work I had done so far on the south east asian city graphics. I had only got half the ancient ones done, so its not a big problem. Good thing I posted that preview; I can use it for reference to make my cities just like I had them before!

Here's a preview of the new and improved ancient era :D

These South Asian graphics look really nice! So nice that I feel I must use them. Except....

I was planning on splitting Asia into 2 culture groups-West Asia & East Asia. India & Mongols would go into West Asia with Persia, Ottomons, Arabs, etc. Malays, Thais & Khmer would go in East Asia, with Japan, Korea & China.

So culture groups would be:

African
American
East Asian
European
West Asian

How would you suggest grouping Mideast Civs using your South Asia/East Asia/combined with Mideast civs? Maybe group Europeans with the Near East, possibly as a "Mediterranean" culture group?

That way it'd look like:

African
American
East Asian
Mediterranean
South Asian

@ Rita Poon - Eventually, I'm planning on expiramenting/mixing and matching city graphics from different culture groups (so that would probably include what you want) Eventually . But in the immediate future it will just be these southeast asian cities, and I might even try those North American cities Sword of Geddon mentioned earlier.

@ Sword of Geddon - You like those, eh? Well, here's the medieval ones ;)
And to think a week ago I wouldn't have thought I had it in me.
