The ivermectin thing: time and again it has been observed that the stuff has anti-viral properties. There are plenty of studies showing it. If the mechanisms are unknown, more the reason to research further.

One random thing I thought about is, if covid is 10x deadlier than the flu, and the vaccine reduces the chance of dying by a factor of 10, does that mean the vaccine makes covid about as severe as the flu for vaccinated people?

It might, not counting long-covid. I mean, you're using approximate numbers, but in my region the number of vaccinated deaths are kinda in-line with normal years flu. Contagiousness will be a different statistic, since the risk is the odds of damage times the odds of getting it.

The utter mismanagement of the pandemic and the consequent socioeconomic crisis has resulted in a far heavier defeat for the misgovernment than almost anybody forecast. TBH I have no idea how somebody could not have gotten a test yet. I did recently a count, I had 6 PCR tests, 3 antigen tests, plus I think 3-5 self tests. The last one I did yesterday, since I anyways had to go to a laboratory for a blood check, and I've had just returned from a trip.

Was looking at provincial numbers, and about 47% of the population has been tested zero times. (Minus anyone who's done rapid tests but no PCR tests... but I can't imagine there are many of them.)

I don't think we have good data on usefulness of tests in general, since we've never done a good job of defining what their use is.

There was a bar in my home state years ago that tried to thwart the smoking ban through a loophole in the law that allowed stage productions to have indoor smoking, so this bar said that every night was a performance and handed you a slip of paper with one line on it to read.
