Fallout mod.

Since I can't do anything to the Fallout BIQ till MC gets done with the x y coords, Here is a little something I have been messing around with.

This screenie is a test if the new wastelands gfx combo I was thinking of using, what do you folks think of it? Comments are welcome and requested.

Pounder, thanks bud, I had not known you had updated your ruins. Will add the new version ASAP. :goodjob:

Ok folks, I see I have to make a massive redo to the mod. WAAAY TOO many units being built. So I am going to tone down the barbs and the increase the initial cost, maint cost, along with requiring a pop cost for ALL, except initial, units. You should care about each and every unit you build.

Those armies my testers have been building should not be in existance in a post apoc setting.

Hell with my mutie army I had at most 20 units, and most of those were garrisoning the cities. So it looks like I have to apply the same rules to the other civs. Gotta keep the unit density down.

Supa, that is Pounder's Radmarsh he made for the mod. It represents the irradiated terrain around the nuked cities. :)

About the new terrain graphics (It's a terrain, right ? Not pollution ?), I think the green is too flashy.

I think that it may be a bit to much as well, but that is what was requested.

BTW Supa, you are right, I see there is mrtn's pollution sitting on top of those marshes as well.

Edit: I did initially make one that was not as full of florescent green, but was told that there wasn't enough green, I could post it if it looks better.

Pounder if you are taking requests, ;) what I am looking for is not so much water, but an irradiated wasteland. That was the reason I did not use your other marsh and requested more flourescent green. As I knew that the brighter green would pull the eye away from the 'water'.

Actually I am using Mrtn's pollution as craters, that way the player does not have to put up with 50 million global warmings. :D

So Pounder, if you would like to make a new Wastelands, here is what I would like, :D mostly land, then a few pools of irradiated green goo. And then possibly dead vegetation like trees.

My military

Thor says that since he changed the requirements for unit building this is last time I can build my land armada

At first I thought the terrain was too flashy as well. OR at least there seems to be too much for fallout. But, I realized that that flashy green is actually pretty close to what it looks like in the games. Anyone who's played them knows what I'm talking about... with ghouls and oversized rats included. :)

So I don't think it's too bright or anything.... but maybe the "amount" needs to be toned down... or maybe the puddles of ooze should be spaced out a bit more. I don't know how much adjusting can be done while still keeping the effect though.

EDIT: perhaps the dark dark brown could be made to match the rest of the terrain. Or even make it lighter... as most of the irradiated areas in the fallout games were more of a light dirt/desert color.

First pass, looking for comments. I have made some color changes and incorporated some of mrtn's pollution with colour changes on the marsh file, so you can use your craters file for something else.

Pounder, thanks for working on my request. most of the 'marsh' tile should look like it is rocky burned dirt with some burned out vegetation, then with some pools of green goo.

I like the way you have incorporated the craters into the terrain tile. :goodjob:

Good to see this still chugging along. Sorry for my abrupt dissapearances early in the mod Thorgrim, but life has it way of interrupting gaming. At least the new job is more pay and less hours ;) Aside from resources, my graphics aren't the best anyway. :(

Good to see all the progress you've made on it - I have been following the thread if not actively participating in it. Are you using any of the resources I gave you?

I am getting married in about 5 weeks, so won't have time to do anything significant until after the honeymoon, but if you need some help still come November I can dedicate some time between my own modding to help with this.

Can't wait to see Pounders goo - he does great stuff and I like the progress already made. There is that one goo puddle resource I gave you that might be a good base for him to use - it has the exact shade af green the goo has in the Fallout games.

AmesJustin, glad to see you found an old lady. :D Lets hope it lasts. :)
If you look carefully, you should recognise the resources. ;) :D

Pounder, do you mean the xdgp pcx? As I could not find a xdpg pcx.

In case you meant the xdgp pcx, that is what I have attached. :D

I have been thinking that the vanilla civ irrigations are just too blah, so I am trying out different irrigations. So far the one I like the best is Pounder's darker fitted irrigation. Let me know what you think. :)

That's the one, thanks. I thought it would be best to start with a palette that would match the terrain you are using.

I'll start working on it in the morning.

Rocks and rubble and puddles of green goo and maybe a some burnt vegetation.

Pounder, thanks a lot sir, between you and Reddog, this mod is going to have a damn dood post apoc terrain set. :goodjob:
