Fallout mod.

A new computer ?
BG needed a Pentium 166mhz to run in 1998, it had an addon. BGII, a 266 in 2000. Also an addon. NWN needed a 455mhz in 2002. Two add-on.

They are not THAT power hungry. If anything, NWN has a much less interessant solo story, but they were so much good mods..

Anyway, I'm not worried about Bethesda's Fallout. They proved they can make a game with a very good ambiance.

-Off topic:Agreed, you mention some of my fave games graphically. I don't see why we have to improve on that. Spend the money on better code, storylines and updates.-
 
As long as it has the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system, the dark offensive humour, and the isometric view point, and the classic fallout dialogue, ill be happy. And you know, I don't think ANYONE would complain if bethsheda hired some ex-black isle employees as outside consultants... chris avellone anyone? It'll ensure the fans get what they want. why the HELL would they screw that up?

Back on Topic: Does anyone here know the approx. release date of this mod? If its in beta testing, it cant be much longer.

Well for the thor's WOTW mod beta testing was 3 months long. Thor will release the mod when he feels it is done. And regardless of any badgering that might happen he won't release it any sooner.
 
i would love to help to, jus need to know which progs to use and how (kinda new to modding)
~off topic~ i really really hope bethesda doesnt make a first person Fallout... but if they do, this upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. better be good! i agree Morrowind is OK... but they appear to be workin more towards the new gen systems instead of PC! }:(
~back on topic~ i have been wondering how to transfer fallout 1/2 and FoT images, ie. character models into my Civ 3 game... help? if i can learn this, i would love to help on this mod any way possible

Hi, everyone, I`ve got to say...the way you guys are working, there should be no bug reports after the release! This mod was the first one I checked out when i first found CFC. It looks amazing!

One thing... did anyone saw, somewhere, a unit that could nicely replace the pip boy graphics? Or maybe the maker of the original one can make me a normal-size-headed version if I asked him nicely? Pretty Please? I know, I know, if you guys didn`t like him he wouldn`t be in the mod, but he just kind of sticks out... maybe he wouldn`t if you make all human units with huge heads :)

A FELLOW VIKING! hello stormrage! i also agree with you... the pipboy has too large of a head. i think he looks something like Stewy (for all of you who watch Family Guy) and a smaller head would look better (i think the pipboy doesnt fit at all... but its up to the mod makers) i think it would be a better decision to make a building with the pipboy gfx! called Honor of Pipboy, and raises all science in all cities... but whatever totally stupid idea...

Actually I like your idea, but maybe just because my memory on fallout games has slowly faded out :)
Keep up the good work! And I mean it, keep it up, don`t play Civ4 all the time ;)
 
where did everyone go? no comments for a long time... is this like some big gaming industries? the game has been cancelled?! or more likely... your almost done!! yeah... new pics would be MUCH appriciated and proof that you havent left us here to talk about the mod...

Well I can tell you that it's neither of those. I've been to busy to update this thread often.
 
There so much stuff concerning post apocalyptic storylines you'll be seeing much more than one mods about it. I wouldn't worry with updates.

Sometime updates increase the arrival dates, if you don't have much time to spare. There has been constant input during the entire beta so far, but that's for us so it's added. The beta changes periodically every 2-3 weeks, so there's improvement and movement. You guys just don't see it.

If you have much input you'll spot possible glitches that will not be there in the final release and none wants that.
 
the forum has been abandoned! and ive been sucked into Civ 4!! help me! ok so forum hasnt been abandoned totally... cuz im still here... are the mates workin on the mod in overdrive... or totally not carin cuz its near ThanksGivin and busy with the holiday... i really hope yer still workin on it! reply if you read this ok so i know im not alone!

I think they have another site for where they work on the mod, folks just post updates and ideas here. Otherwise, if you have stopped working on the mod, please just release the beta version. :)

I'm a programmer myself and I know how ridiculously off a release date is, but dagnabbit, I want to play this thing. :p
 
Not earlier than summer 2006(or more), provided they'll wait for some units I was asked to convert(I said I was going to deliver them after the units for my mod are ready). No worries. I'm sure you'll get previews from time to time till then.

Since Thorgrimm doesn't have a software company and we don't get a cent for it, so we care not for such trivialities like release dates. :p

If you're actually a programmer, perhaps you should contact Thorgrimm to maybe join the testers if there's a place for you.(But it's a heavy load job, be warned).

Blacken, if you are a programmer, how good are you at making tools for gfx conversions? For example a tool for converting a .FRM animation to a .GIF animation without having to breakdown the .FRM animation into single frames?

If you can do that, you would be most welcome on the team!

And Flame is correct, we have no understanding what the term 'release date' means.;) It will be released when we feel it is finished. The big hold up is gfx right now.

Eh, I can give it a look. If you can give me a FRM file spec and specify what GIF format you're using, I can at least attempt it.

I'm not a graphics programmer, but this is just data juggling. Easy enough.
