Show me your orders/battle plans!

Thats known as psychodiphotoautocidiccyclophobia.

And that's known as drunkeness.

Anyway, here's my orders for the last turn of DaNES. I kind of want to know more of how good they were more than anything.

Spoiler Peru's orders :
Time for some action here in South America.

Military Stuff
Mobilise the 5 infantry divisions. Even though we have a numerical and tactical advantage, it's still best to make sure. Keep one guy in Arequipa and one guy by the two cities along the river in case my neighbours don't approve of all this. It won't stop them, but it should slow them down.

First, send the fighter squadrons to scout the western part of the country, focusing on the three major cities (Cuenca, Guayaquil, and Quito, I assume).

Have my cruisers approach the enemy destroyers head-on (which I presume are in the harbour of Guayaquil), with 10 destroyers as backup. If a ship gets heavily damaged, have it pull back and replace it with a destroyer. We want to minimise losses here.

Take two of the remaining destroyers and load them with an infantry division each. Details will follow.

If the reconnaissance finds no divisions in Cuenca
Since it is in mountainous territory, we will want to take it soon so we can get the high ground. Send five infantry to head to and take the city, while the other six and the artillery move to Guayaquil. If they send their forces from Guayaquil to meet the threat, then have the infantry stationed on the destroyers to take the now-undefended city. Meanwhile, Cuenca should be easy to take, although it may take a while to get there through the mountains.

If they don't move away from Guayaquil, then have the six infantry and the artillery brigades move to the city. Once there, have the forces stationed on the destroyers disembark, surrounding the enemy.

If the reconnaissance finds a division in Cuenca
Have the forces take the path in green (attached map) rather than red. It will take longer, but we have the advantage in that we surround them in difficult terrain. Other than that, see above.

Finally, to Quito
Quito is high up, so trying to send artillery up there won't be much good (if it is, let me know). Leave two infantry divisions in each of the conquered cities, guarding three artillery brigades each. The remaining infantry divisions (hopefully still numbering seven) will march up along the flat areas before finally turning east to reach Quito. We will need to get there as soon as possible before they can regroup, and the mountainous terrain will slow us down a lot. Once there, we should have superiority by numbers, and hopefully by the time we take the city, we will have defeated Ecuador's military before they have a chance to fully mobilise their reserves.

Once Quito falls, garrison three infantry inside the city, while have the rest of the forces take care of the unconquered regions, especially to the east and northwest, and try to weed out any resistance.

Economic stuff
I have 3 EP to spend, all of which will be going to military. So we have,
3 EP - 1 EP = 2 EP (military upkeep)
2 EP - 1 EP = 1 EP (mobilise 5 infantry divisions)
1 EP - 1 EP = 0 EP (taking over Ecuador)

Okay, I hope that's understandable. And I hope I can pull this off.

AFSNES Orders fo the turn I destroyed Capua.

Liguria
Capital: Belesova
Ruler: ?/Flavius Aetius
Government: Decentralised Feudal Theocratic Monarchy with growing bureaucratic elements
Culture: Ligurian with minor Tartessian, Hellenic and Germanic influences and admixtures, mostly in the past; heavily xenophobic; fanatically Belenist; repressed underground Ashaist and Agade Dag minorities; also, suppressed, minor Athanoi and Illyrian populations; the Ligurians themselves are culturally united and nationalistic; increasingly assimilated (though largely Ashaist) Latin populations in the south.
Technology: Steel Age, somewhat backwards in several fields, especially naval technology
Army: 6 regiments, 17 Sons of Belenu, 30 levy regiments
Army Description: Fanatical, loyal and organised warriors, chiefly light and medium infantry (including particularily masterful archers); largely defensive and not very flexible.
Navy: 3 ships
Navy Description: Comparatively primitive, but sturdy galleys with dedicated and experienced crews.
Economy (Base/Manufacturing/Trade): Strained (2/2/2)
Area (Points Required): 2
Infrastructure: Improving
Bureaucracy: Blundering
Population (Points Required): 3
Military Cap: 30
Education: Educated
Living Standards: Tolerable
Confidence: Loving
Projects: Centralisation (+more centralised form of government, +1 Bureaucracy, +1 Manufacturing) (Done!), Belenu’s Military Thoughts (+10 Military Cap, +assimilation, +1 Base Economy) (Done!)
Colonies (Government/Income/Population/Militia/Loyalty):
Nation Background: The ancient priest-kingdom of Liguria had weathered many storms thanks to its mighty and zealously-guarded mountain strongholds; in the chaos the Dark Age, the determined and well-organised Ligurians had achieved unprecedented heights, conquering many territories and eliminating numerous threats. Though the expanded Ligurian realm had grown much decentralised, the Priest-King in Belesova still commands great authority. Though traditionally quite isolationistic, Liguria has recently begun to open up to foreign trade, to a very limited extent ofcourse.

ECONOMIC ORDERS

Spend 2 Eco Points to raise 10 Regiments; With this Regiments I will add to my Army some Cavarly Regiment, with horses imported from Lughenburg, possibily very good trained and mobile, to circle the Enemy's army in battle.

Spend 2 Eco Points in Navy;

Spend 2 Eco Points for Logistic;

MILITARY ORDERS

Firts, mantain the levy, and raise some more if possible, but not crippling the economy of the nation.
Then, send reinforcements to Saena Julia to reassembly the Army and then restart to campaign aganist Capuan.
I will continue to raid and plunder Capuan territories, partcularly around Capua itself; even a cavarly regiments will be used to do very fast Raid deep into Capua. Also Lughenburg regiments will be added to my army.
leave some Levy regiments and 4 regular regiments on the frontline.
The main army will march to Capua itself: the plan is the same as the update before: go to Capua as rapid as possible, and encircle the city. Then build siege weapons and a defensive sistem with forts, walls and hidden holes aroun my army and the city, using Caesar tatic with the siege of Alesia.
Most of my resources will be used to conquer Capua: I will carefully look for Numa III if he try to run away from the city. If I capture Numa III, inside or outside the city, I will kill immediatly Capuan King and I will send the head to city defenders if they remain of to remaining Capuan Forces.
Capua will be heavily bombarded with siege weapons, and many holes will be digged under walls.
The walls will be destroyed with some days, then I will launch the attack with Sons Of Belenu to the city.
When Capua falls, and with King Numa possibly eliminated, remaining forces will be panicked, so a lot of attacks will be launched to overrun remaining army and to conquer remaing territories.
If my Capuan siege fails, I will try to regroup, to recruit new Levyes and to Re-Siege Capua. If I fail another time, I will return to current frontline and I will defend it from Capuan attacks.
If my army get attacked in open space, I will use encirclement tatic to win the battle: Son Of Belanu Infantry will get the heavyest hit in the middle, Light Infantry will hit attackers with arrows, a lot of arrows, and when attackers morale ge criplled, my Cavaly in the Wings of the army will encircle and attack Enemy's army from everywhere.
My rebuilted navy will make piracy actions, attacking Capuan ships that carry supplies, making occasional blockades in enemy ports and Hitting and running away with fast action. If anyone ships will approach to help Capua, my fleet will immediatly try to destroy the, or inflict the biggest number of damage.

INTERNAL ORDERS

My population will be probably tired by the war, so King Genu XLIII will talk to the population, using Religious reasons to justify the continued war, if possible gettin more Levyes.
Spreading of Belanuis will continue in Langobardia, continuing to send Priest-Merchants in Langobardian Cityes.

Economy:
12 points from 12 economy centres.
4 points from economy level.
Sacrifice 2 levels (Richer +4 > Rich +3) for 12 points.

28 points total.

Spend 14 points (28 < 14) on army size, recruiting 70 thousands
Spend 4 points (14 > 10) on sustaining the army's training.
Spend 6 points (10 > 4) on training 120 Professional thousands to Elite. I should now have 120 Elite thousands, 2 Professional thousands and 2 Normal thousands.
Send 1 point (4 > 3) to Lithuania to incite revolt against the Grand Duke.
Spend 1 point (3 > 2) on Bristol's trade infrastructure
Spend 2 points (2 > 0) on logistics for the invasion of Sweden.

Domestic Policy:

Step up our counterintelligence activities. Our spies report that Sweden is conspiring with Aquitaine to attack us, so we can expect them to attempt to assassinate our leadership, steal intelligence and commit other acts of espionage, prior to the invasion. Keep tabs on all known or suspected spies, and monitor all Swedish commerce with our empire. If we discover a mole, try to feed him false information; specifically, feed him information that we are planning a massive invasion of Aquitaine. At the outbreak of hostilities, all Swedish nationals in our empire are to be imprisoned.

Invest in the trade infrastructure of Bristol:
Bristol is in an excellent position for trade, but has not yet taken a great share of it. We aim to change that. Expand the port, lower tariffs and move much of our shipbuilding industry there. Hopefully, Bristol will be able to capture much trade with Ireland and Avalon.

Encourage the formation of joint-stock trading companies. These will have authority over any lands that they colonize and will take all profits from those lands, but must acknowledge the Norse crown and institute free trade in their territories.

Military Policy:
Dispositions:
Baltic Fleet: 45 Good ships and 10 Better ships
Home Fleet: 15 Good ships
Army of Norway: 55 Elite thousands
Army of Denmark: 30 Elite thousands
Army of France: 25 Elite thousands

The Swedish War:
Our spies report that Sweden is preparing to attack us. If possible, let Sweden make the first move. If not, announce that we have information that Sweden is conspiring against us, and go ahead with our plans anyway.

At the outbreak of hostilities, the Baltic fleet is move immediately to block the Skaggerak, and bottle the Swedish fleet in the Baltic. We will probably outnumbered, so harass the Swedish fleet, and try to avoid a decisive engagement.

If the Swedes try large scale amphibious landings across our North Sea holdings, their fleet will have to split up, which should allow our fleet to inflict heavy casualties.

We expect the main Swedish blow to fall on Denmark. The Army of Denmark is stationed there and will oppose the Swedish thrust.

The purpose of the Army of Denmark is to slow the Swedes. They fortify the land border with Sweden. They should fight a defensive war, and try to inflict maximum casualties with minimal loss. They should destroy bridges, use irregulars to ambush Swedish supply lines and use other tactics to slow the Swedes. The Swedes will probably attempt amphibious landings, so they also should be prepared for that.

The Swedish invasion should greatly alarm the Danish populace, so we should be able to raise irregulars and conscripts from the population.

If Sweden for some reason does not conduct a large invasion of Denmark and the surrounding territories, the Army of Denmark should advance into Swedish territory.

The Norwegian Front:
The Army of Norway is to be stationed along the Swedish border. Take steps to conceal their presence from the Swedes. Once the war begins, they are to strike what will hopefully be a decisive blow into the Swedish heartland.

Speed is of the essence in this campaign. The Swedish defenders should be hopelessly outnumbered and out gunned, so surround them and pound them into oblivion with cannons. Once the border defenses have been destroyed, the Army is to split in two pieces. 20 thousands should march towards Goteborg and southern Sweden. The remaining 35 thousand are to head towards Stockholm and Uppsala.

Captured Swedish territories are to be treated harshly. At the first sign of insurrection, young men are to be rounded up and executed, and we should make it clear that local elites will be exterminated if there is any trouble. However, we should take steps to preserve any economy centres. Also, try to recruit some men from the Danish rebels in Skane.

The French Front:

Bavaria should invade Lothringen, so we will only have 10 Elite thousands there. They should fortify and make sure that Lothringen does not mount a breakout before Bavaria arrives.

The Army of France will oppose Aquitaine's invasion. Again, they are to use delaying tactics against the invaders.

If Bavaria betrays us, and invades France, the Army of France should wheel to meet it. It should adopt extreme scorched earth methods to slow the Bavarians. It is to fight delaying actions, to buy us the time to knock Sweden out of the war.

Other Military Orders:

Greatly expand our military intelligence service. It, in conjunction with our other intelligence services, is to work in close concert with the military. Our aim is for our generals to always have better information than their counterparts.

The Home Fleet is to defend Britain, and should be on high alert, in case of Irish invasion.

Remaining forces are assigned to defense of Britain. In case of Irish invasion, introduce mass conscription.

Foreign Policy:

Incite rebellion in Aquitaine's Basque provinces. Promise the Basques independence, following Aquitaine's defeat. If we are successful in provoking revolt, send some advisers to coordinate the revolt.

Assassinate as many of Aquitaine's officials and generals as possible.

Send 1 economy to Lithuanian dissidents, to incite them to rise up in revolt against the Grand Duke. Again, if we provoke a revolt, send some advisers to coordinate.

Continue our efforts to infiltrate surrounding nations, particularly Ireland and Brittany.

DOMESTIC POLICY:
1) Begin new project: The [insert name of my dynasty] Revolution ( +2 civilian leadership, +2 economy, +2 culture, +2 confidence)(SECRET)(0/?>1/?). This will consist of a series of measures designed to introduce modern bureaucratic government to the Empire and eliminate the influence of the Church. The last aim comes first. I assume that we have some sort of parliament. Engineer some sort of important case that will be appealed out of the Empire to Rome, who will rule in an unacceptable manner. Once this happens, support an uproar. Manufacture a petition in the parliament protesting the corruption of the Church and its influence in our lands. Make a great show of regretting the actions that we are forced to take, but go to the Pope and insist that he comply with our demands. He will refuse, and we will be forced to take action. Inflame the public over this attack on our sovereignty, and use our war with the Catholic League to appeal to nascent nationalist sentiments. With the public on our side, pass the following acts. Pass the Act in Restraint of Appeals, restricting appeals from the Archbishop of Jorvick to the Emperor, instead of the Pope. Then raise an outcry over annates, which take wealth out of our empire. Pass the Act of Annates, redirecting these revenues to the crown. Then influence the Norse convocation to pass the Submission of the Clergy, abrogating the Church's ability to pass canon law without the assent of the Crown. Finally, the Act of Supremacy will make the entire Norse church subservient to the Emperor and force clergyman to recite an oath of subservience to the Emperor. This will complete the break with Rome. To enforce these acts, pass a Treason Law greatly increasing the definition of treason, the punishment for treason and the monarchy's powers to prosecute treason. Any clergyman who refuses to take the oath will be prosecuted for treason. After the break is complete, conduct an investigation into our monasteries under the Emperor's authority as head of the church. They will be found to be corrupt and this will be used as an excuse to dissolve them. Their wealth will be confiscated by the Crown and redistributed. Once the Norse Church has been established as a separate entity, we can begin the second phase of the project. This phase involves abolishing the household government that has been the order of the day and replacing it with a independent bureaucratic system. Reform the privy council, and turn it into something along the lines of the Cabinet, with each councilor responsible for a certain area. Set up a separate court under Imperial authority and use it to break any overmighty subjects and generally secure central rule. Set up the position of Imperial Secretary of State, to run the government. All this is not to be done in one fell swoop. These actions will be taken over the course of the project. Also, there should not be any great uproar over this, due to our war with the Catholic League and the fact that it is a project. All the money we are going to have to invest in this has to go somewhere, and we suppose that it is going to keeping the peace. Also, although it is not a specific effect of the project, these reforms should probably help to propel us into the next age as a side effect. Keep the effects secret, because we don't to unduly alarm our neighbors. Each particular reform may be revealed, as it could scarcely be concealed, but hide the long term plan.
2) Support a revival of interest in Old Norse and Old English culture. Sponsor transcriptions of old lays and sagas and generally promote our mythology. We probably will not see any great advances, due to a lack of investment, but prepare for later investment. This will be part of our broader attempt to build a distinct Norse-English culture.
3) Begin research into improving our arquebuses. Try to develop a better way of firing; matchlock is unreliable. Direct our men to look into some way of creating a spark by using a metal or stone. Try to improve our metallurgy to permit guns to be shortened and lightened. Try to simplify the reloading process.
4) Begin research into developing better field artillery. Work in concert with the musket research to improve our metallurgy to allow for light guns that can be easily transported around the battlefield. We do not expect much progress to made in either of these areas yet, as we are not yet investing significant amounts of money, but we should lay the groundwork for later investment.
5) Spread pro-Empire propaganda. We expect that news of our treaty with Lothringen and Aquitaine will be unsettling to the people. Take measures to combat this. Trumpet that only territories filled with rebellious French were given away, and try to convince people that this strengthened the Empire. Emphasize the Anglo-Scandinavian nature of the Empire. Play down the news of the treaty, and emphasize our victories over Sweden, which is a historic enemy, and Bavaria, which has been belligerent towards Denmark.
6) Encourage a population shift. Encourage Norse and English in the territories that will be ceded to leave for the Empire and encourage Frenchmen in the Empire to leave for territories that will be ceded. Some of the people moved should be encouraged to go to Avalon.
7) Promise a significant amount of autonomy to rebellious Germans in former Swedish territories, if they stop rebelling and join us. Their administrators will come from their own people and they will have a significant amount of control over their internal affairs. They will, of course, have to pay taxes to the Imperial government and will have no control over foreign affairs, but other than that can do more or less as they please.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS:
1) Sign the peace treaty with Lothringen and Aquitaine that we have agreed to. Cede the territories on the following map to those two countries. Send 4 economy points to Lothringen in compensation. Apologize for the war and sign defensive and non-aggression pacts with both of them.

tnes2pc8.png

2) Continue our efforts to infiltrate the Irish Empire and Brittany. Things should be somewhat disorganized in Avalon, so we should try to infiltrate their colonies there. There, our men should not be subjected to a particularly rigourous inspection. The new Avalon Fur Company should be particularly susceptible to infiltration. Hopefully, our men will be able to enter their organizations in Avalon, establish their bona fides there, and then infiltrate Europe.
3) Send men to agitate in any Norse or Catholic communities in Ireland and Brittany. They will probably have little effect, but it is worth a try.
4) Provide aid to the Four Nations against Ireland. We are too stretched to send much material aid, but send what we can and send some advisors. Promise more material aid in the future.
5) Begin to very quietly sound out pirates, if there are any. Make it known that the Norse navy will not attack them, if they concentrate on Irish and Spanish shipping. Make it known that our colony in Avalon will be something of a safe haven for pirates. Again, we can not yet provide much material support, but promise such aid in the future.
6) Spread propaganda in Bavaria. Try to incite revolts. While Bavaria may be riding high at the moment, the crushing defeats that we should inflict upon them, coupled with Lothringen turning on them, should severely damage their confidence. Exploit this, and try to incite the old German states to desert the sinking ship of Bavaria.
7) Direct a segment of our military intelligence to investigate the Irish armed forces. Try to find any weaknesses in their ship construction or coastal defenses.

MILITARY POLICY:
1) Create a new UU, the Tredje. They are based on the Spanish Tercio concept, but adapted to meet our ends. As we see it, the weaknesses of the Tercio are its lack of mobility and the fact that it wastes a great many arquebusiers on the rear. The Tredje is an attempt to remedy these defects. While it will be a mixture of pikes and firearms, it will be tilted more towards gunpowder; slightly more than half of the unit should be arquebusiers. They will be organized in smaller groups, to allow for greater tactical mobility, and will fight in a flatter formation than the Tercio square, to allow more of the arquebusiers to fire at any time.
2) Reform our military organization. We seem to have a professional army already; if we don't, make it a professional army. Begin taking steps to make promotion based on seniority and merit, not social rank. Do not do anything too drastic, but lay the groundwork for later reforms.
3) Standardize our cannons. Reduce the myriad calibres and weights of before to just six or seven. This should improve our logistics, because we will not need as many different balls, and improve the quality and flexibility of our gunnery, because crews will only need know a few guns. Cancel this if it would have an unduly adverse effect on our campaigns.
4) Reform our cavalry organization. Conventional heavy cavalry take massive casualties in the face of massed musketry, and can no longer rule the battlefield. However, with changes in equipment and tactics, we believe that cavalry can still play an important role. They must changed from a heavy force that relies on weight, to a lighter force that is far more manoeuverable and relies on speed. First, equipment: their armament must be increased and their lances should be hollowed out, to allow for a longer and lighter lance. This will give them the advantage of reach over pikemen. Their diversity of equipment should allow them to be useful in many situations. Tactics will undergo a greater change. They will adopt the tactic of late concentration. In the initial advance, they will be widely spaced, to allow for greater mobility and, will minimize casualties due to gunfire. They should advance at a slow pace for much of the distance between them and the enemy, to maintain formation and keep the horses fresh, if they must charge again. Once the arquebuses fire, the cavalry should rapidly close ranks to a tight formation and charge at a gallop. Hopefully, the arquebuses will not have time for a second volley. At contact, the greater reach of our lances should allow the pikemen defending the arquebusiers to be hit first. The great speed of our men will cause struck pikemen to be thrown backwards, disrupting the formation. Once the formation is broken, the pikemen and arquebusiers will be easy targets. If the formation does not break, they should use their mobility to retreat and charge again. (OOC: Model them after Polish Hussars.)

MILITARY ORDERS:
Deployments:
Total: 4 Elite+1 Thousands, 117 Elite Thousands, 40 Elite+1 Tredje Thousands, 60 Good Ships, 1 Better Ship

Home Fleet: 10 Good Ships
Baltic Fleet: 50 Good Ships, 1 Better Ship

Army of Norway: 15 Tredje Thousands, 40 Thousands
Army of Holland: 5 Tredje Thousands, 30 Thousands
1st Army of Germany: 20 Tredje Thousands, 4 Elite +1 Thousands, 26 Thousands
2nd Army of Germany: 10 Thousands
Army of Britain: 11 Thousands

THE CAMPAIGNS:
SWEDEN:

The Army of Norway will continue to oppose the Swedes in Sweden. We expect the Swedes to raise a large conscript force and mount a counterattack. This counterattack will almost certainly be against our forces on the outskirts of Stockholm. Our forces may be outnumbered by the Swedish conscripts, but they are much better trained. To take advantage of this, they should fortify. Build defensive emplacements, fortified gun emplacements, etc. Build these in such a way that the Swedes have no choice but to advance under a withering barrage of cannon and arquebus fire. Also, exploit the mobility of our soldiers to mount lightning raids on their flanks, to disorganize them. Their conscripts will not be used to such concentrated fire and should break quite easily. Once this happens, they will be easily dealt with by our veterans. Our new cavalry should be useful here. Once we have broken the back of the Swedish counterattack, advance into Stockholm.

The Swedes may also attempt to break our supply lines or take Göteborg. If they try this, shift some forces to engage them and press the assault on Stockholm. With the fall of Stockholm, Swedish resistance should crumble and we will be able to deal with any trouble in our rear at our leisure.

If the Swedes have enough troops in Stockholm to make an attack prohibitively costly, besiege it. The Swedish navy may be able to keep the city supplied, but once the Golden Horde attacks Sweden's eastern territories, their supplies should be cut off. When we attack, try to keep the city intact, but destroy it if Swedish resistance is too strong. Once organized Swedish resistance collapses, mop up the little pockets in the interior.

If our forces are defeated, mount a fighting retreat towards Norway. Do not allow the Swedes to surround us and keep us in Sweden.

The 2nd Army of Germany will oppose the Swedes in Germany. If the Swedes mount an assault, it is to defend using the same tactics as the Army of Norway. It is then to advance towards Danzig. If the Swedes do not attack, advance anyway. The utmost care should be taken to preserve Danzig. The Army is not to advance beyond the Vistula. While these operations are ongoing, the Baltic Fleet will move into the Baltic and oppose the Swedish fleet. Initially, they should coordinate with the 2nd Army to take the southern coast and then move to engage the Swedish Fleet. Try to avoid a direct battle where the superior Swedish firepower can be brought to bear. The Swedish fleet should be busy trying to move men and material across the Baltic, particularly after the Horde attacks, and we should harass those activities. At all costs, keep the Swedes busy in the Baltic. Do not let them into the Norse Sea, where they can harass our naval supply lines.

All captured territories are to be treated quite well. When the Horde invades, they will undoubtedly commit numerous atrocities, and we want to look good by comparison. However, do not be soft. Rebels should be treated harshly. If we manage to capture King Gustav, keep him alive at first. Transport him to our territory, away from his people, and induce him, by any means necessary, to abdicate his throne to the Emperor. He will then be sent in exile to our colony in Avalon, but will tragically be swept over the side on the journey.

BAVARIA WEST:
The Army of Holland will be stationed in Holland. Our border with Bavaria and its vassal should be fortified as much as possible to prepare for the Bavarian invasion. Use the same basic ideas as in Sweden. We believe that there are two places where the Bavarian invasion could come: Bremen and towards Amsterdam. Keep most of our army back from the border until we know where the Bavarians are attacking. Have our military intelligence concentrate on pinpointing the location of the Bavarian thrust, and move part of our army to engage the invasion. Once the Bavarians are engaged, the rest of our army, in conjunction with the troops of Aquitaine and Lothringen, should move behind them. Once the Bavarians are surrounded, they should be obliterated by massed cannon fire. After the defeat of the main Bavarian invasion army, the Army should advance into Westphalia and north western Bavaria. Speed is important. Westphalia is weak, and should fall apart after one decisive battle. After the fall of Westphalia, continue to advance to the south.

BAVARIA NORTH:
The 1st Army of Germany will be initially stationed near Stettin and will strike the crushing blow against Bavaria. The presence, or at least size, of the army should be kept concealed as far as possible, and it is not advance until the Bavarian invasion in the west has been engaged, to prevent the Bavarians from shifting forces to counter it. Once the western battle has begun, it will advance rapidly south, towards the Bavarian heartland. The Bavarians will likely have a small force in the former Swedish territories, attempting to secure them. Enlist the help of the local peoples, who should be friendly due to Domestic Policy Item 7, and surround and crush the Bavarians.

In order to penetrate into Bavaria, the 1st Army will need to cross the Elbe. The Bavarians will probably try to destroy the bridges across that river and it is imperative that we prevent them from doing so. Our cavalry is move with the utmost speed to secure the bridges. Before the invasion, we should try to send small groups of local Germans and Norse soldiers to the Elbe. Once we invade, they will disrupt any Bavarian attempts to destroy the bridges and try to secure them. Despite our efforts, the Bavarians may manage to destroy the bridges. To prepare for this eventuality, the 1st Army should have a significant number of engineers, who are trained in rapidly building makeshift bridges. To prepare these engineers, they should spend the winter practicing. The army should also practice building rafts and should be prepared to construct them in a hurry. Once across the Elbe, the 1st Army should move with speed towards Prague and Regensburg. Try to gain support from the people of Prague. Hopefully, the Bavarians will not have many troops in the area and will be forced to desperately gather an army. In this event, there will be many small bands of Bavarian troops moving to mustering points, and our cavalry should range away from the main army and try to destroy these small groups one by one.

We expect Bavarian resistance to harden enough to make a crossing of the Danube impossible. However, if it does not, the two armies should cross the Danube, using the same tactics that the 1st Army used to cross the Elbe, and attack Munich. This is not to be undertaken if casualties would be too high.

In all our operations, care is to be taken to preserve the cities that we capture and to minimize civilian casualties.

The Army of Britain and the Home Fleet are to defend Britain against possible Irish attack.

CONTINGENCY PLAN:

If Aquitaine and Lothringen betray us, cancel all invasions of Bavaria and shift to a defensive posture. Shift the Army of Holland to France to defend against invasion and shift the Armies of Germany to Bremen to defend against Bavaria. Use a mobile defensive strategy, raiding them to delay them but minimize casualties. Defend the cities fiercely. Make sure that any economy centres are destroyed.

I had to completely redo the military section at four in the morning after the blasted coup in Bavaria, and it shows. A lot of very questionable decisions.

12 EP from 2 sacrificed Economy Levels (Good Enough (+2)>Not Bad (+1))

29 EP Total.

1) Spend 1 EP (29>28) on our colony. See: DOMESTIC POLICY Item 1
2) Spend 1 EP (27>28) on project (1/8>2/8)
3) Spend 1 EP (27>26) on Musket Research. See DOMESTIC POLICY Item 3
4) Spend 10 EP (26>16) on Tredje Growth (30>80 Regiments)
5) Spend 8 EP (16>8) on Army Growth (85>125 Regiments)
6) Spend 6 EP (8>2) on maintaining Training
7) Spend 2 EP (2>0) on Military Logistics

DOMESTIC ORDERS:
1) Expand our Avalon colony. Expand the infrastructure and provide some incentives for people to move there. Try to expand trade links with Avalonians. The Four Nations, at least, should be willing to trade with us.
2) Continue Musket Research. Last turn we gathered the resources necessary and conducted preliminary research. The increase in funding this turn should kick start the program. They are to try to find more effective firing mechanisms, as well as conduct metallurgical research to decrease the size and weight of our guns.1 EP Invested, 2 Turns run
3) Continue Cannon Research. While we are not providing major funding for this program, we hope that some advances that come out of Musket Research can be applied here as well. 2 Turns run.
4) Bring the Swedish and German churches into the Norse church. Since the Norse church is already independent from Catholicism, I am removing that part of my project. Instead, it will bring the Swedish and German churches solidly under Imperial control. As these churches were largely autonomous anyway, there should be little resistance.
5) Deal with the Swedish Royal Family. Round up everyone with even a drop of royal blood in them. We do not want anyone with anything approaching a legitimate claim to the Swedish throne left loose. Once we have gathered them, present them with a choice. If they sign documents abrogating all their family's rights and claims in Sweden in perpetuity, they will be sent into exile with the Swedish Navy. If they do not sign, they will be executed. One way or another, this should secure our hold on Sweden, hopefully with a minimum of bloodshed. We do not expect any outcry from the Swedes, due to the catastrophic failure of the King in the war.
6) Study the design of the Swedish Navy ships. Per our agreement with the Swedish Navy, we will shortly be in possession of a great many ships of Swedish manufacture, which are the best in the world. Have our shipwrights closely examine them, to try to discover the Swedish innovations. Hopefully we will find something that we can improve upon and apply to our designs.
7) Spread stories about Bavaria's perfidy. Spread tales of atrocities against loyalists, Landsknecht charging protesters and that sort of thing. Emphasize that we wanted peace, but the 'Lord-Commander' is forcing war on us. This is absolutely true.
8) Conduct a survey of our internal tariffs. Tariffs on goods passing from one area of the Empire to the other are damaging to internal trade. They restrict the free flow of goods, which is particularly important in this time of economic uncertainty. We may have abolished internal tariffs a long time ago, but we may not. Regardless, it seems likely that with the integration of so many countries into our Empire, the tariff situation is uncertain in areas. Conduct a survey of all of our internal tariffs and customs to ascertain the exact situation at the moment. This is a precursor to the abolishment of such things in the near future.
9) Install Imperial government in conquered territories. Try to keep most of the low level Swedish and German bureaucrats in place, but put new men in the higher ranks. Try to recruit highly competent men from among the natives. There should be little resistance from the Germans, as they did not resist when Bavaria annexed them. There may be somewhat more trouble from the Swedes, but hopefully their old government was such a disgrace that they are happy to be a part of our Empire. To keep our new people happy, be nice to them. Reward Imperial loyalists and that sort of thing.
10) Begin spreading our culture to our new lands. Emphasize the shared heritage of the Norse, the Swedes and the Germans and begin cultural exchange between them. We don't want to subsume German and Swedish culture into Norse, but we do want people to feel a sense of connection.
11) Offer Frenchmen in our French territories emigration to Aquitaine. Gilles of Aquitaine has proclaimed himself king of France, so many Frenchmen might prefer to be ruled by him. Any that want to go are to be allowed to liquidate their property and will be given help in moving to Aquitaine. Replace the emigrants with Englishmen and Norse. Hopefully this will remove any dangerously nationalistic Frenchmen from our remaining French territories and further ensure their stability.
12) Step up our domestic intelligence. With the addition of so many new territories to the Empire, there is a chance that foreign powers may try to incite rebellion among Germans or Swedes. Keep a close eye on the new provinces and try to infiltrate any suspicious groups. If we find any nascent rebel movements, terminate them with extreme prejudice.
13) Start the Reformation. Sort of. We don't want a huge theological reformation, but we do want reform in the office of the Papacy. Condemn the Pope as too involved in temporal matters. Spread stories of Papal decadence and corruption. The Pope is certainly both decadent and corrupt, so this should be easy. He also supports the Mongols against fellow Christians. This is outrageous. Spread stories about this, and spread stories about Mongol atrocities, just to drive the point home. Have as many preachers as we can find declare that the current Pope is corrupt and borderline heathen, and that the Papacy must reform itself and stop aiding heathens if it is to remain Christ's Vicar. Also, have some preachers declare that the Pope does not have the authority to excommunicate anyone; only god can do that. Seriously, the Pope cannot expect to help heathens rape people and still maintain even a modicum of moral authority. OTL Reformation started over indulgences and this is far, far worse. As the Pope never had much power in this timeline, and the Spanish, Swedish, Norse and German churches are largely independent anyway, people should be willing to go along.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS:
1) Encourage revolt in Bavaria. This new government is made of military men and nobles. Common people tend not to like military men and nobles, particularly not when those nobles are causing suffering to the peasants. Send in some agents rile up the commoners up further. Moreover, there must be some Royalist nobles and military men. Encourage them to revolt.
2) Assassinate Bernhardt. There must be some closet Royalists in the military. Find them, and encourage them to kill the Lord-Commander.
3) Provide safe haven to Bavarian military men. The murder of General Wilhelm will have greatly alarmed many of the moderate Bavarian generals. We would prefer that they stay and fight the new regime with their troops, but some will doubtless prefer to leave to stay safe. Offer these men places in our military.
4) Bring Westphalia into the war with Bavaria. They are my vassal now, so I presume that I can have them send their army, small as it is, to help our armies.
5) Sign the treaties with Finland. A trade agreement, a treaty of cooperation and a guarantee of their independence.
6) Fulfill our agreement with the Swedish Navy. We take possession of their islands and half their ships. In exchange, we allow them and their families safe passage to Avalon in the remaining ships.
7) Spread propaganda in Poland. Spread the news that the Polish government betrayed Galicia to the Golden Horde. This was mentioned in diplomatic dispatches from the Golden Horde and is apparently true. Hopefully, this will outrage the Christian Poles. Encourage them to rise up against the government. At the same time, spread news of the Norse crusade. Present us as true Christians and encourage people to join us and fight the infidel.
8) Spread news of our war in Horde occupied territories. Send agents and weapons to encourage Christians to rise up against the oppressor. There should be significant numbers of recently released Swedish soldiers in former Swedish territories areas. They should be easily roused and should provide a solid core for a rebellion. Because of Christian solidarity against the heathen and all that, they will hopefully be willing to overlook our role in the destruction of the Swedish kingdom.
9) Send whatever support we can to the rebels in the east of the Horde's territories. Try to send some weapons, and agents to organize and stiffen the rebellions. We probably cannot send much more than moral support, but even that should encourage them. The rebels are isolated enough that they should not hear of our crusade.
10) Try to incite noble revolt in the Golden Horde. The Mongol nobility is angry at being marginalized. Now is their chance to do something about it. Make it clear to them that our crusade is aimed at stopping Mongol incursions into Europe, and that we would make peace if a new moderate government rose to power in the Golden Horde.
11) Spread pro-Christian propaganda in Kostroma. Send in some people to spread the word that it is un-Christian to aid the heathens against Christians, and that Kostroma should throw off its overlord and join the crusade. If they do so, we will protect them. Hopefully there are some exceptionally pious and stupid lords that we can convince to rebel.
12) Try to assassinate the Mongol Khan. Try to recruit some people from among malcontented nobles. Regardless of whether we are able to recruit any one or not, send some of our men to kill him. We expect his security to be light, compared with the security surrounding western rulers.
13) Continue to send aid to the Four Nations. Ship the supplies through private companies in Aquitaine's colony. This has two advantages: it is closer to the Four Nations, and it should help to disguise our involvement.
14) Send military advisors to Lothringen. Help them to bring their army in line with recent advances.
15) Ship supplies and advisors to Finland. Help them to rapidly develop an efficient, modern nation.
16) Send advisors to Galicia. Due to Bernhardt's infamy, we cannot send troops. We can, however, send advisors to organize their army along Norse lines.
17) Offer the Lapps autonomy within our Empire, if they join us and send some men to attack Kostroma. If they accept, the Lapp familiarity with the north should give them an advantage over the Kostroman and allow irregular Lapp forces to inflict significant losses on the them.
18) Step up our intelligence gathering activities in Poland. Hopefully some of their officers will be so outraged over their treatment of Galicia that they will be willing to provide us with intelligence. Regardless, try to infiltrate their army as much as possible. Poland is confused, so this should be relatively easy. We want to know as much as possible about the location and plans of their miiltary.

MILITARY POLICY:
1) Continue to reform our officer corps. Just keep slowly moving towards a system of promotion based completely on seniority and merit, rather than social rank.
2) Do NOT adopt the Austrian pistol as the main weapon of our cavalry. We anticipate that many countries will leap to adopt this innovation, but we feel that it is detrimental to the effectiveness of our cavalry. At this point, pistols are slow to reload, and have shorter range, less power and less accuracy than arquebuses. This means that in order to use pistols, cavalry must ride for significant lengths of time at slow speeds while well within range of the infantry, thus abandoning their advantages. Our cavalry is meant to be a highly mobile disruptive force, not a slightly faster and much less powerful version of our infantry.
3) Send some officers to observe the War of Hungarian Succession. In that war, two of the most advanced and capable armies in the world are fighting. Our men should observe, to see first hand the strengths and weaknesses of the Byzantine and Austrian tactics. This should provide us with valuable lessons about fighting a modern enemy, that can be applied in our campaigns this year. Our men should scrupulously avoid aiding either side.

MILITARY ORDERS:
Total Forces: 125 Regiments, 80 Tredje Regiments, 45 Squadrons. In addition to our own forces, Lothringen has sent us 25 Thousands. They were intended to fight the Mongols, but they did this before news of the Bavarian revolt surfaced. They have agreed to allow us to keep control of the troops, on the condition that they be used solely against the Mongols, and that a Lothringian general be in command. They have assured us that this general will not be a bother to us.

Deployments:
1st Army of Germany: 25 Regiments, 10 Tredje Regiments
2nd Army of Germany: 25 Regiments, 10 Tredje Regiments
3rd Army of Germany: 10 Regiments, 10 Tredje Regiments
Army of Provence: 30 Regiments, 15 Tredje Regiments
Task Force Riga: 25 Thousands, 5 Tredje Regiments, 5 Squadrons
Task Force Danzig: 5 Regiments, 15 Tredje Regiments , 10 Squadrons
Poland North: 10 Regiments, 5 Tredje, 5 Squadrons
Poland West: 15 Regiments, 5 Tredje Regiments
3 Regiments in Sweden.
2 Regiments in Britain.
Mediterranean Fleet: 25 Squadrons

MILITARY OPERATIONS:

THE MONGOL WAR
TNES_RIGA_OPERATION.PNG

We did have massive operations planned for this theatre; unfortunately, Bavaria's volte-face has forced us to cancel those plans. Instead we are limited to a single small operation, to secure a base for future campaigns.
I) Task Force Riga will sail into Riga and take the city. The fleet will sail into the harbour and destroy any emplacements, then the land forces will disembark. Once the city and the surrounding countryside has been secured, they are to heavily fortify the area and begin bringing in supplies. Do not expand beyond an area that can be reasonably held. Their goal is to secure Riga as a base for future campaigns against the Mongols in the Baltic region.

THE BAVARIAN WAR:

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1) Portray the war as being against the usurpers. Because it is against the usurpers. We are not fighting this war against Bavaria. We have made peace with Bavaria. The nobles and generals who have imprisoned the king are unlawful rulers, and we seek only to remove them and return the rule of law and peace to Bavaria. Make sure the Bavarian people know this. Also, be nice to them. Give them gifts, pay for food, that sort of thing.
2) Eliminate the usurpers. They have sinned against god and, far more terribly, against Canute. Any that we capture are to be publicly executed in some gruesome fashion, as a warning to others who would go against the divinely appointed order and the Norse Empire, and as a sign that justice has been served. If we capture Bernhardt, and I hope that we do, kill him as slowly as possible. Cut off pieces of his flesh and feed it to him, flay him alive, pull out his fingernails, use thumbscrews, the rack, any other implements of torture we can devise, and when we can't keep him alive any longer, have him hung, drawn and quartered and feed the pieces to wild dogs.
3) Tactics. The Landsknecht can stop our cavalry, so we shall not use our cavalry against them. Their massive pikes make the Landsknecht painfully slow and vulnerable to gunfire. Our Tredje are much more maneuverable. We shall use our cavalry to separate and destroy normal units, while baiting the Landsknecht into a position where they will be destroyed by cannon fire and gun fire from our Tredje. If the Landsknecht try to charge our lines, our Tredje can avoid their attack while still pelting them with fire. Once the Landsknecht are disposed of, we can use our normal tactics to obliterate the remaining enemy forces.

SPECIFIC OPERATIONS:
TNES_BAVARIAN_INVASION.PNG
Here is the map.

Ia) The 1st Army of Germany will advance from northern Germany into Bavaria proper. Their goal is to attract the main Bavarian army and keep it busy. Try to minimize our casualties while still keeping the Bavarians occupied. Even if we have a chance to break through, don't take it, for reasons that will become apparent in the next item.
Ib) Some time after the 1st Army has moved, the 2nd Army of Germany will advance through Lothringen's territories and hit Bavaria from the side. The Bavarians will not expect an attack from Lothringen's territory, so at this point, the main Bavarian armies will be engaged with our forces in the north. The goal of the 2nd army is to move fast and trap the Bavarians in the north. At that point, the Bavarians can be destroyed at our leisure.
Ic) After the 1st and 2nd Armies have moved, the 3rd Army of Germany will move through Lothringian and Swiss territory to the Bavarian border. The Swiss have agreed to allow us passage. These movements should be undertaken with the utmost secrecy. We do not want the Bavarians to learn of our presence until it is too late. Once on the border, they should move extremely quickly towards Munich. The Bavarians should not be expecting an attack from this quarter, and the city should be lightly garrisoned. Take it, and everything else south of the Danube.

THE PROVENCAL WAR:
TNES_PROVENCAL_INVASION.PNG
Operational map.

I) The Army of Provence should also move through Lothringian and Swiss territory. They are headed to the Provencal border. Once again, this should be done with extreme secrecy. There may be Provencal forces moving to help Bavaria; in that case, ambush them in the Alpine passes. Move into Provence proper. They should ignore the section of Provencal territory between the two rivers, and head straight for Lyons and the Provencal Capital (OOC: It says Provence in the stats, but I think it should be Marseilles). Neither city is easily defensible, so they should fall quickly. Try to convince the Italian Cohorts to switch sides. They are mercenaries, and more than that they are Italian mercenaries, and Italian mercenaries are not known for steadfastly fighting against superior numbers, weapons and organization. Promise them very rich rewards if they will join us, or at least abandon Provence. Standard tactics apply.
II) The Mediterranean Fleet will sail through Gibraltar and engage the Provencal fleet. It should be easily destroyed by our superior numbers and firepower. Once the Provencal fleet has been destroyed, our fleet should seek and destroy the Papal fleet, and then bombard the Mediterranean coast of Provence and the Papal states, and institute a blockade of Marseilles.

THE POLISH WAR:
It may be thought by some that we agreed to leave Poland alone. This is mistaken. First, our promise was extremely vague, and was given by an unauthorized low level diplomat. Second, we do not recognize the Polish government as a legal entity. We obviously cannot promise a nonexistent entity anything. And third, we are leaving Poland alone. It is the people currently running Poland that we are destroying, and they richly deserve it. We cannot overemphasize the fact that this IS NOT a sneak attack. Poland declared war on us, we revoked our recognition of their government and then made certain side comments that led them to believe we would be leaving them alone. At no point was a peace made, nor could it have been, for there is no legitimate Polish government with which to make a peace.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

1) Take great pains to avoid antagonizing civilians. This war is against the treacherous and un-Christian government of Poland, not against the Polish people or Poland itself. Make sure that the people know this. Try to enlist their support wherever possible.
2) Eliminate the Polish ruling class. They are un-Christian and traitorous and must be destroyed. The lower ranking officials were doubtless unaware of the government's perfidy, and will be spared. Any high ranking member of the Polish government that we capture, however, must be killed, preferably by Poles. Try to whip up a mob, which shouldn't be too difficult, and let them kill the traitors.
3) Tactics. The Polish army is far less advanced and disciplined than our army. Take advantage of this. Use our superior mobility to try to force direct battles, where the Polish forces will be under a withering barrage of gunfire from all sides. Hopefully they will break fairly easily. Use our cavalry to encourage them to run. They will probably be gathering peasant levies from the countryside, and our cavalry should try to destroy these before they can gather into large groups. Our guns should out range their guns, which is another significant advantage.
4)Do whatever we can to increase desertion in the Polish army. Offer deserters safe haven, spread propaganda, appeal to non-Poles to abandon the Poles, etc. Hopefully many Poles will have been disgusted with the government's betrayal of Galicia and will be willing to desert.
5) Exploit our mobility. Most of Poland is plains, where our armies can move freely. We are far more maneuverable than the Polish forces, and we should use this to force battles in favourable locations.
6) Once Poland has fallen, fortify the west bank of the Vistula against the Mongols.

SPECIFIC OPERATIONS:
TNES_POLISH_INVASION.PNG
Here is the map of our operations.

If) Poland North will initially be stationed at Stettin. They will advance along the Baltic coast. The 5 Squadrons are to assist the land forces in taking the coastal fortifications. Once the Poles have been driven out of former Swedish territories, the land forces should turn south into Poland proper, while the fleet should move up the Oder and bombard Polish positions on the shore. If necessary, the army should move to assist Task Force Danzig, but their general objective is to secure all of Poland between the Vistula and the Oder.
Ig) Poland West will advance along the west bank of the Oder. Their initial objective is the city of Wroclaw. After taking that city, it should continue to the south. Its objective is to cut the Polish forces in the west off from the Polish homeland. Once this is done, our force will turn to destroy those Polish forces. Once they are isolated, try to force the Poles into a small pocket and let them starve. Once the main Polish forces in the west are destroyed, it should move to secure the remaining Polish territory west of the Oder. Poland West and Poland North should begin their advance sometime before Task Force Danzig lands, to draw Polish troops into the west.
Ih) Task Force Danzig will land at Danzig. The fleet should sail into the harbour and blow away any Polish emplacements, then the army will storm the city. Care is to be exercised to avoid damaging the city. Once Danzig is secure, the land forces should advance up the Vistula towards Warsaw, while the naval forces sail up the river and provide support. The advance to Warsaw should be undertaken with as much speed as possible. Hopefully we will get there before the government can evacuate or muster significant forces to defend the city. If Warsaw is extremely heavily defended, set up a siege. Use our navy to prevent supplies from reaching across the river and to bombard from the river. Once Warsaw has fallen and the Polish government has been decapitated, our force should secure and fortify the Vistula line.

CONTINGENCY PLANS:
1) If Ireland invades: Evacuate the Emperor and the government to Oslo. Introduce mass conscription and guerrilla warfare. Fight them on the beaches, fight them in the hills, fight them in the streets, never surrender.
2) If Aquitaine and Lothringen invade: Evacuate all Norse and English to Britain, then burn northern France. Poison wells, destroy cities and kill every Frenchman we can find. Introduce conscription and defend Holland and Britain. If they attack Holland, destroy the dikes to slow them down.
3) If the Golden Horde invades: We believe that the distances and ongoing commitments are too great for the Horde to mount an effective intervention; nevertheless, it remains a possibility. In that case, the naval contingents of TF Riga and TF Danzig should seek and destroy the fleet that the Mongols would probably have built in the Baltic. The land forces should defend Riga and the Vistula line respectively.

Goals
- To develop specialized (very primitive longboat-style) naval technology by the end of turn.
- To develop a culture of hardy, proud, and independent (in the sense that they disdain too much control over them) people who strongly emphasize the value of hard work by the end of turn.
- To increase the value of metals, metal refining, fish and whatever locally available domesticable creatures in the local economy by the end of turn.
- To develop the pattern for a military doctrine of fast, semi-organized, "barbaric" warriors.

Spending Overview
1 EP to raise an appropriate number of levies for "storytelling purposes."
1 EP under King Matetsk the Lesser for the subsidizing of fishing and animal husbandry.
1 EP under the greedy King Yatskyut for mines, mining, and military expansion for mining areas.
1 EP more during the same reign for roads and wagons (he needs them to transport stuff for himself).
1 EP under Warlord Oskevit for restabilization.

Important Events
Years 1-10
- General disorder in Iskan society and criminality is high; the fishing is beginning to slowly rub away the nomadic lifestyle.
- King Hyertevit, by virtue of the elders, assembles honor-bound warriors for his ambitions but dies before the bunch of loot-seeking plunderers moved. This marks the first "organized" army of Iska.
- Prince Atskyut, 11-years old, inherits the honor of his father in year 10, but the ambitious lieutenant Ktagevit used his charisma, popularity, and blackmail to win over three-fourths the army.

Years 11-20
- Ktagevit forces the young prince, his loyalists, the elder council into exile in the southwest among the tribes of the Ryatev people.
- Feeling secured, the 35 year-old ex-fisher and diver Ktagevit let his ambitions take charge and began planning and executing massive amphibious raids (meaning plenty of boats commissioned) to the east which were mostly economic failures.

Years 21-30
- The aging Ktagevit faced Prince Matetsk and his men, as well as sympathetic Ryatev warriors (who thought Ktagevit cheated his honor), in a war that begun with an invasion force of hundreds of men from the west.
- Several battles were fought, with the prince being vastly outnumbered many times; though not a strategic or tactical genius, the valor and unity of his men more than made for it.
- Ktagevit, being innovative as he was cunning, utilized a few wooden walls for a "mobile terrain advantage."
- By year 30 Ktagevit has been slain and his warriors were either capitulated and re-defected or executed for dishonor leading to the failure of their duty.

Years 31-40
- King Matetsk dies relatively young (for a king) due to a boating accident (having his head split by the combination of sharp rocks and strong waves) but is generally venerated as a hero, for Ktagevit had proven to be far less likable to the masses after establishing military control.
- King Matetsk the Courageous left his kingdom to his sons Matetsk the Lesser, Prince Atskyut, Prince Karatsk, and Prince Baretev, and the elders chose the eldest, Matetsk the Lesser (aged 17 by year 31). The other three became his loyal lieutenants.

Years 41-50
- King Matetsk the Lesser proved more peaceful than his predecessors, giving rewards ("encouragement") to those who fished and herded. He was partly traumatized by the death of his father, being on a nearby boat when the old King died.
- Limited agriculture and aquaculture became common, and raiding (done only to non-Iskans and non-allies) by local raiding parties died down for quite a bit.

Years 51-60
- The rule of King Matetsk the Lesser brought about a slight interest on song and storytelling at this time, for he was fond of those and would often call upon the bards of Iska to perform for him in exchange for privilege and renown.
- King Matetsk the Lesser dies as a part of a series assassination by Price Yatskyut, the king's youngest son who thought his father weak and effeminate while his brothers as competition. His plot was never unraveled.

Years 51-60
- King Yatskyut, 29 years old, began kidnapping and enslaving people to the east for miners, including the semi-integrated non-Iskans who Ktagevit had conquered, for he had acquired a taste for precious metals in his sudden rise to power.
- The various non- and semi-Iskan peoples of the kingdom, who were borderline happy with King Matetsk the Lesser, began several revolts which only led to drastic military action by King Yatskyut.

Years 61-70
- King Yatskyut the Cruel began several campaigns which brought several tribes up to the easternmost coast, some distance to the west and deep into the south to Iskan dominion, utilizing the re-invigorated army.
- Upon conquest, the king brought more slaves into the mining force, at the same time creating new mines in newly acquired ground.
- The lumber industry gets a kick as many prime mining grounds are covered with trees.

Years 71-80
- Oskevit the Easterner, one of King Matetsk the Lesser's lieutenants who was removed from position because of the power-shift, rose to prominence as a capable rebel general in the east who combined the old strategies of Ktagevit with popular moral high ground as a "liberator."
- As the kingdom fought the civil war, several acquired provinces not under the King's forces' occupation either broke off or joined with the warlord Oskevit.

Years 81-90
- Oskevit succeeded in defeating the King (dying shamefully when he, in desparation, tried to run away on horeback, only ending up accidentally stabbing himself as he tried to mount), and was proclaimed legal ruler by the liberated elders (who were under the threatening watch of King Yatskyut during his reign).
- The war machine of the wily Oskevit turned its sharp talons to the other rebel factions, claiming the laws set by the words of the elders were still laws even under the cruel Yatskyut.

Years 91-100
- Oskevit, the semi-integrated Iskan aged 49, campaigned to fight rebels there and was generally successful, though a few places were deemed to unsafe to retake.
- The new king, though reclaiming conquered land and people, was less of a power-hungry autocrat and more of a simple and just lawgiver, earning him bitter but well-deserved respect from his subjects.
- Prince Oskevit the Lame was born in year 99. He was born with a crippling disability, but the Iskan people do not judge people until they had proven themselves incapable of completing the coming-of-age test.

Everything Else
Writing with the on-screen keyboard sucks.

I'd like to know if that was way too advanced for its time; if it is, just spend 3 EP evenly over 100 years for the development of sedentation and roads and urbanization. I will not be bothered to elaborate on that until I get a keyboard.

Very nice. Mine were about half that long, I do admit rushing them to send late. I like your style.

Mine were a good deal simpler. Here's my timeline for Yexal:

Timeline
Prehistory: The tribes of Veerixura (the highlands and the immediately surrounding forests/jungles) have lived here since before history was recorded, before any of the elders or Kaskiiz (Priests) can say. They say that people were put here by the Xiliz (stars), but even with that no date is known. However, shortly before the rise of Yexal, Veerixura is covered with a large number of small villages. They are all ethnically, culturally, and religiously similar (linguistically, their tongues are mutually comprehensible, though there are differences in accent and word usage), but all in competition.

-2: Kaskuu Kee, a Kaskii (Priest) becomes Chief of the village of Yexal. He organizes a small but effective army and begins to attack neighbouring villages. However, instead of simple raiding and skirmishing, as had been the case in the past, he conquers. However, he is a skilled diplomat, and also manages to bring many villages into his fold without the need to fight.

0: Kaskuu Kee, having now controlling a realm two days' march across, declares himself Var (King) of Yexal, and master of Veerixura. He then returns to expanding his realm.

18: Var Kaskuu Kee passes away, and his son becomes Var Seeva Fuus. Seeva Fuus sets out to organize the nation. He clearly establishes himself as the ultimate authority, and the priests as local authorities. Expansion stops during the reign of Seeva Fuus, and integration takes place.

37: Var Seeva Fuus dies, and his eldest son, Hav Xil, becomes Var. Var Hav Xil launches an ill-considered attack into the jungles of the east with a small force, and is never heard from again.

38: Seeva Fuus' second son, Bav Xil, becomes Var. Bav Xil was trained to be a Kaskii (priest), and keeps such tendencies at his heart throughout his reign. The creation of fine artwork, statues, and temples abounds during his long reign. Later in his reign, Bav Xil's Gavax (General), Zovaza launches several campaigns of expansion to the south and east.

80: Var Bav Xil passes away peacefully at great age, to be succeeded by his only son (he had many daughters) Jexeev. Jexeev orders many explorations to take place. These make contact with Tookii (Toki), Rakadoonii (Racadonia) and reveal a large number of new lands to the west. Expansion continues at a slow rate, and is generally peaceful.

100: Var Jexeev, now in his 48th Ta (Year), continues to rule the rising nation of Yexal.

Likewise quite simple (in part because they were a bit rushed):

Spoiler Ksiliotai Orders :
Goals:
- Gradually expand throughout our starting river valley, so as to secure more resources and alleviate our apparent overpopulation.
- As we expand, seize land, cattle and slaves, establish fortified settlements, cultivate the soil, and so trigger more and more population booms, thus establishing a stable expansion-consolidation-expansion cycle.
- Along the way, develop internal trade between the capital and the newer settlements. Also, establish trade outposts on the fringes of the valley to trade with the tribes beyond it.
- Also, encourage development of superior craftsmanship - focus on metallurgy, as we will need more and better tools and weapons for settlers and warriors respectively. This is also useful for trade, obviously enough.

Spending Overview:
- 2 EP on Army (+1000-I, 50-M).
- 1 EP on fortified settlements and trade outposts.
- 1 EP on developing metallurgy.

Important Events:
- Egrois Geohiemos will reign from -13 to 12 Standard.
- In 5 Standard, the first outburst of genuine expansion will commence (after years of raiding), the Egrois leading his warriors in several attacks on surrounding villages; these attacks will later be celebrated in early epic poetry.
- Egrois Phereos will reign from 12 to 34 Standard.
- Egrois Akurogos will reign from 34 to 72 Standard.
- In 36-37 Standard, Akurogos will defeat an uprising organised by malcontents from amongst the traditional aristocracy and priesthood, led by his brother Geodipos. Akurogos' victory signifies the strengthening of the military aristocracy, and is followed up by a new bout of expansion.
- By 48 Standard, the Ksiliotai will have grown overstretched, and many of his previous supporters amongst the military aristocracy will turn on Akurogos. After defeating a conspiracy and an uprising, Akurogos is nonetheless forced to halt the expansion for now.
- In 53 Standard, several measures are introduced to properly consolidate and unify the empire. Development of internal trade is encouraged, the poorer warriors are granted land, cattle and slaves in the newly-conquered territories, and an early, primitive code of laws is set down to regulate the relations between and within the various social groups.
- In 55-56 Standard, nonetheless, a new rebellion by those dissatisfied with the reforms has to be put down.
- After 60 Standard, expansion resumes even though Akurogos' mental health begins to deteriorate, leading to widespread intrigues and power-struggles.
- Egrois Aurios will reign from 72 to 75 Standard. This reign is the culmination of the previous troubles; it is short and tumultuous, with different factions fighting it out and Aurios often being a king in name only, and then only recognised by some. Despite his intrigue skills that allow him to reclaim power in the capital several times, he is ultimately deposed and slain; by then, the other surviving members of the previous dynasty have died as well, and a new ruler (previously a petty frontier noble/rebel warband leader) takes the throne.
- Egrois Erutogeros will reign from 76 to 102 Standard.
- In 83, after some more fighting, negotiations in the capital city (incidentally, let's name it Egroiokos - "the king's home" - for now) between the Egrois and the warlords of the outer settlements lead to the reunification of much of the previous empire. However, the aforementioned warlords are granted great degrees of autonomy within their territories, and become hereditary rulers.
- After 90, new efforts at expansion are undertaken, though the new political system and the country's general weakness after the turmoil hinder the process considerably.

Everything Else:
- Basically, the plan is to expand all over our river valley, overwhelming any other tribes by force. That said, some of the local tribes will be allowed to join us; most, however, will be slaughtered, expelled and/or enslaved, making room for our warrior-settlers.
- With all the new lands and slaves, we should start developing an extensive slave agriculture system.
- At the same time, internal trade should be activated after we have grown large enough; resources and agricultural produce could be imported to the capital, which will export crafted goods (making them even more dependent on the capital). Trade with tribes that dwell outside of the valley (and which are therefore not in our way) will be conducted via several trade outposts; sell them our high-quality crafted goods as well.
- Akurogos' code of laws is basically meant to keep the assorted noble groups from overwhelming each other or the commoners; therefore it benefits the frontier noblemen and the craftsmen and merchants considerably, while restricting the privileges of the traditional aristocracy. This code of laws does sort of survive to the days of Erutogeros, but it is increasingly neglected. In any case, the traditional aristocracy is further weakened by then, while the lords in the countryside have risen in wealth and power considerably instead.
- Just to make things clear: I mean to expand between the mountains to the south and the desert to the north. So mostly along the river, though ofcourse I mean to seize both banks.

No second turn orders yet?

Hmm, right.

Spoiler Ksiliotai Orders Two :

Goals:
- Establish and strengthen our military power, test and improve it through warring against the Erevas;
- Extend our political, military and/or economical influence/presence beyond the valley, chiefly to the south and the southeast;
- Work towards establishing a more sophisticated and advanced urban society and countryside feudal system.

Spending Overview:
- 3 EP on Army (+1000-I, +100-M).
- 1 EP on Army (better weapons, armour)
- 1 EP on general urban development, plus development of crafts.
- 1 EP on establishing a network of trade outposts beyond our valley.

Important Events:
- Egrois Erutogeros will reign from 76 to 102.
- He will have the new agreement with the Nazar, decreasing the tolls for our merchants, establishing dynastic ties and sending some craftsmen to Egroiokos.
- Then, to do our part in the treaty, he will take the greater part of our old army and lead it towards the lands of the Erevas, charming and/or fighting his way through the lesser tribes that stand in the way (preferably we want them as our allies or vassals; even if they resist, we shall be magnanimous in victory and offer them the same terms; but if a chiefdom insists on refusing without attacking us, do not pick fights). In the lands of the Erevas, he and his army will do as much damage as possible, but after his glorious death, regardless of fortunes, the army will have to turn back.
- Egrois Aurigiros will reign from 103 to 125 (unless he happens to die in battle earlier).
- At first, upon the death of his father, he will focus on domestic affairs, encouraging the development of cities and keeping the feudals in line. Ultimately, however, his Nazarian wife and his own warmongering instincts will lead to the Second Ereva Campaign (from 107 to 109-112), for which he will make sure to recruit a larger contingent of elephantry, hopefully incorporating some of those famed Erevan tactics as witnessed in the previous campaign.
- After a break, in 118, a new campaign will be launched to try and secure the southern territories, subjugating chiefdoms and establishing forts. One of the main purposes is countering any Erevan campaigns if the area; but if none occur or if they are defeated quickly enough, the Third Ereva Campaign might as well commence after 120.
- After Aurigiros dies, Egrois Kousotogetos will take power, but will only reign on until 129. He will mostly focus inwards, trying to consolidate his power and diminish that of the warlord-feudals. This will ultimately lead to his deposition and the rise to power of his younger brother.
- Egrois Akurogos II will reign from 129 to 164. He is a much more adroit ruler, but is forced to live with the consequences of Kousotogetos' mistakes, maneuvering between various feudal factions to restore the monarchy's power and prestige. He will greatly support the development of cities; he would also encourage and support the development of an extensive trade network in the lands to the south, conducting a subtle diplomacy to win over the local leaders with gifts and such, placing them firmly within our sphere of influence and setting up trade outposts there. Still, if anyone attacks our envoys and traders, we will, if circumstances permit it, retaliate in force. Meanwhile, the feudals would be encouraged to organise their own raids and campaigns against the Erevas.
- Egrois Aurigiros II will reign from 164 to 193. He is likewise an ally of the cities, and will continue to develop them; at the same time, he is a heavy proponent of expansionism. The feudals will be encouraged to resume large-scale expansion to the west and the east within the Valley; meanwhile, the army will be expanded once again, with mass recruitment in the cities, and then used to assert our predominance in the south. At first, subtly establish fortifications around our trade outposts, and send larger garrisons there. Any chieftain who is provoked by this to a rash action will be attacked and overthrown, to be replaced by a collaborator; any further attempts at resistance will be rooted out as well, while surviving chieftains will be made to swear fealty (note that they still would retain full internal autonomy, as long as they remain true to the terms of our accord).
- Egrois Aurigiros III will reign from 193 to 212; he is quite non-remarkable and is quick to fall under strong feudal influence, though the more pragmatic advisers at his court still keep him from reversing his father's policies. This reign will see a revival of raiding aimed at Ereva and a Fifth Ereva Campaign.

War Overview:
- The war with the Erevas is intended to be an on-and-off conflict; for the most part it should just involve small-scale raids and skirmishes with occasional major campaigns on both parts that are nonetheless unlikely to achieve any major long-term results.
- The initial goal here is mostly to honour our obligations before the Nazar, but also genuinely to keep the Erevas from getting too strong; along the way, however, another, more important goal would arise - that of securing our economical and political influence over the lands to our south, where we would ideally have numerous vassal chiefdoms and principalities that are economically dependent on our core cities. Last but not least this constant warfare should provide us with much-needed military experience.
- The First Campaign will involve 1200-I, 100-M. The plan is to secure a path towards the Ereva territory, then rampage in the countryside, attacking and ransacking smaller villages and towns while avoiding the capital and forts. This should draw out the enemy army, against which we shall use sheer battlefield ferocity plus superior numbers of our elephants; have our hordes of elephants disrupt their infantry formations and engage their elephants while our infantry cleans up. If all goes extremely well and we both devastate the countryside and crush the enemy field army, lay siege to the enemy capital and try to either starve it into submission or find some hidden weakness we could use. Upon taking it, raze it, slaughter the men and enslave the women and children and go back home. Note that the same goes for all subsequent invasions if this is made genuinely possible at some point.
- The Second Campaign is very much the same, but we have even more elephants (+100-M) and more experience with them; try to use them in flank attacks as well as frontal charges to truly devastate the enemy.
- The Third Campaign is much more tricky; it is meant to secure the lands to our southeast, and that demands working with local tribes. Use the ones whom we already have vassalised, peacefully or through war, to help us combat their neighbours and/or the Erevas; split our army into two or three wings to efficiently cover these wide spaces. If/after we advance into Ereva territory, focus on destroying any infrastructure and forward outposts/forts on the western frontier.
- Subsequent campaigns against the Erevas are to mostly follow the template set forward previously, only adjusted as per the newly-gained experience. In this way we should gather up military experience while distracting and weakening the Erevas.
- The newly-recruited 1000-I in the reign of Aurigiros II are to garrison our new outposts and forts, and so keep (with occasional help from the main army) the vassal chieftains in line.

Contingencies:
- If the Erevas actually invade our Valley at any point in time, try to draw the campaign out, harassing the enemy without any decisive battles. Our climate should be colder, and they should have trouble getting supplies; eventually they'll have to retreat or die. They could try and attack the capital itself, but that is a trap as we would in that case encircle and crush them at the walls.

Everything Else:
- The development of trade and crafts brought about by our greater contact with the people to our south (from the Nazar's craftsmen to the assorted southern barbarians we could export crafted goods to; in this way I expect the Ereva Campaigns to have an effect similar to that had by the Crusades upon the cities of Italy) - as well as a natural tendency for such development - should result in the rise of several new cities (former fortified settlements) in addition to Egroiokos.
- Of all the crafts, the most precious to us is metallurgy.
- To continue parallels with the Crusades, the Ereva Campaigns should generally lead to us adapting superior weaponry, superior tactics and so on, whether by borrowing them from our enemies or by improving our own in accordance with our experience.
- As far as social development goes: the phratras are slowly eroding. Power in the countryside will increasingly pass to feudals (note that we have two different types of feudals; the Nakatai in the south and the east, i.e. descendants of unconquered warlords, are more privileged and autonomous than the northern Gasireai, who are royally-appointed lieutenants that only later became officially hereditary), while a class society develops, especially in the big cities. This means a more unified and cohesive state, and a more defined Ksiliotic identity.

Not all of it quite worked out, alas.

It's the second update, but he calls it "Update One". ;)

Spoiler AFSNES rushed orders for the turn Guangling lost a lot to Tibet :
Spoiler Stats :
Republic of Guangling
Capital: Guangling
Ruler: Lord-Protector Yun Dan-shek/flyingchicken
Government: Decentralised Representative Republic with major mercantile influences and aristocratic and bureaucratic elements
Culture: Xishan Chinese with limited Luoyangese and Avyaktaragan influences; neo-Sunfucianist, with tolerated but limited Paramatmanistic and (growing) neo-Mohist presences; quite sophisticated and in the midst of a golden agey.
Technology: Age of Exploration, with particular advances in engineering
Army: 30 regiments, 22 levy regiments, 4 Renmin Bing regiments
Army Description: Dedicated, professional, well-organised standing army (chiefly heavy infantry); good artillery.
Navy: 46 ships
Navy Description: Advanced war junks and river war boats with skilled crews.
Economy (Base/Manufacturing/Trade): Quickly Growing (2/2/3)
Area (Points Required): 4
Infrastructure: Efficient
Bureaucracy: Efficient (3/4)
Population (Points Required): 5
Military Cap: 40
Education: Perfect
Living Standards: Normal
Confidence: Loving
Projects: SECRET (SECRET) (Done!)
Colonies (Government/Income/Population/Militia/Loyalty):
Nation Background: The latest incarnation of the Eastern Chinese civilisation, the Republic of Guangling can be seen as the ultimate triumph of the Xishanese republican tradition. Climbing out of the Dark Age chaos through a combination of luck with diplomatic guile, the republic managed to secure a fairly large area in eastern China, often temporarily allying with various warlords and even giving them positions of power to thwart their less cooperative counterparts. Now seemingly secure, the Republic of Guangling turned to catching up technologically and commercially; however, new threats may be emerging in China.

Spending
2 eco points on supplies and logistics
1 eco points for 5 military cap
3 eco points for 15 regiments
1 eco point for civilian relief operations

Goals
- To secure and hold the Sichuan Basin for strategic and economic reasons.
- To gather and secure support from the conquered and the public at home through humanitarian programs.

Plans
Spoiler planning pre-ramble :
The orders should look okay in 1024 by 768 reolution or higher.

I am assuming around 10 regiments in the frontmost lines of the Sichuan Basin, 10 regiments in depth of the same area, 5 regiments guarding the rest of the border, and 5 reserve regiments who are acting as home guard. And I guess the 22 levies are with the 15. The Renmin Bing are in the southeast border, I assume as well.

And do harken back to the military doctrine of mine and alex's. The penalties for those who wish to accept our rule and role as liberators will be treated fairly, and those who do not will have some unpleasant things happen to them. Warned beforehand and all. The details are with you, I believe.

Should anything go badly, let the generals handle it.

Spoiler Operation Crouching Tiger :
Operation Crouching Tiger
As approved by the Guangling Senate
To be executed by General Lao Zhe

"We are at a precarious situation, threatened at all sides by the Tibetan menace and their opportunistic subjects. Our allies are, at the moment, incapacitated and their further assistance is uncertain. It is therefore our burden alone, as an enlightened nation, to bring peace back to this land and drive back the monster which has twisted the Buddhist ideal for its own imperialist ends."
– Lord-Protector Yun Dan-shek

The dashed red lines represent the Guangling vanguard consisting of approximately 10 regiments and up to 15 levies (the rest of Sichuan forces consist of, I believe, about 10 more regiments and 7 levies). At the beginning of the year, they will hold and do a staggered retreat towards strongpoints in the Sichuan Basin, as marked by the bright red arrows. In order to keep in line with the powerful Tibetan military, we must keep our troops organized at all costs.

In a few months, as deemed appropriate by General Lao Zhe, the forces should have reorganized and will be able to perform the counterattacks (as marked by the dark red arrows) to reclaim the basin.

The considerable amount of old fortification camps we have set up in the past should aid in our strategic retreat to reorganize, but they should not aid the advancing Tibetan soldiers. The troops will set the old wooden forts on fire before leaving them. Perhaps a few traps can be set, but that will all be left to the prudence of the General and his lieutenants.

Summary
Retreat.
Regroup.
Reorganize.
Reclaim.
Re-fortify.

Remember that the Guanglingese are willing to do strategic retreats when defending land to make sure organization is kept in tact.

Spoiler Operation Hidden Dragon :
Operation Hidden Dragon
As approved by the Guangling Senate
To be executed by General Wu Dao

"Sweet is war to those who have not taken a part of it. Senators, Lord-Protector, fellow Generals of the State, the legions are ready to do battle with the Tibetans. They are very eager to hammer down our ideals on those who still embrace the tyranny of despotic kings, the tyranny of widespread ignorance, and the tyranny of blind faith. They only await your word. I honestly believe that you should tell them to move now before they realize that they are entering real danger."
– General Wu Dao

The dashed dark red line represents Guangling defensive strongpoints (OOC: or approximations of them if things go awry; if things go TOO awry, just scrap this plan). We plan to defend as much ground as we can as the reinforcements take their positions and reorganize with the troops in the front lines.

The orange lines represent the fresh new troops for this turn, plus any levies (i.e. volunteer armies which we will not call upon). 3 will be reinforcing the Sichuan basin, 2 the southeast borders, and 10 will be forcing its way to the northwest. Let General Wu Dao coordinate with the Dinghisics and General Lao Zhe to relieve them of their burden and to finally drive back the Tibetans from their land.

(OOC: This is a rather slow half to quarter year for everywhere but the northwest, but the reinforcing of the lines will be vital if we wish to hold our strategic and future economic advantage in the basin.)

Summary
Rally
Reinforce
Reorganize
Relieve (the Dinghisics)
Remove (the Tibetans)

In the following set of plans, we are assuming we have gone through a cycle of take-retake or even justy simply holding strong before taking any decisive action. It should happen within 0-2 years of the previous plan's completion.

Spoiler Operation Angry Goat :

Operationg Angry Goat
As approved by the Guangling Senate
To be executed by:
General Lao Zhe
General Wu Dao
General Wang Feizhi

"It is a time for decisive decisions to be made. We have suffered, our people have suffered, our brothers in blood have suffered, innocent Tibetans and Dinghisics have suffered, children, women...I am sorry, but I cannot allow you to sit here and simple ask us to 'hold the line.' We, as the great nation built upon the ideals of freedom and sovereignty that we are, must make a solid stand against the tyrants. We must move forward to crush the Tibetans, or die trying. Otherwise, others will die for us."
– General Lao Zhe's plea to the Senate

The time for retribution has come. The Guangling forces will concentrate their efforts in taking and holding the two major economic centers currently held by the Tibetans. Their tyranny will be stopped only if their food, their gold, and their men are no longer under their control.

The orange line represents the concentration of our forces in the region. Hopefully, the northwest region as marked will be under Guangling control by this time. The yellow arrows and lines represent our plans of attack, and expected holdings by the end of this operation.

The border forces will make dedicated pushes to surround and besiege the two major cities seen in the map to the right. General Wu Dao will be handling the northern city, General Lao Zhe the western one, and General Wang Feizhi, esteemed head of the Renmin Bing and whatever levies and regiments are in the region of the Renmin Bing, will be handling the region in the Southwest.

The three generals will be handling strategy, timing, and logistics, and as to whether they should concentrate on one front or strike all at the same time (OOC: Their professionalism should be enough to keep them from bickering and squabbling).

Hopefully, this operation can be achieved within a timetable of a year or three. If this fails, fall back and we will hold the line as usual.

We must take these cities, for without them the Tibetans must reorganize back to the hells from whence they came.

Summary
Strike

Finally, the least likely of the plans to come to fruition because it assumes victories in the past. But, just in case.
Spoiler Operation Raging Turtle :

Operation Raging Turtle
As approved by the Guangling Senate
To be executed by:
General Lao Zhe
Possibly: General Wu Dao
Possibly: General Wang Feizhi

"The Tibetans have been staved off by the brave and noble Chinese spirit. We must rejoice, for this is but a step to the ultimate victory of liberty over tyranny."
– Lord Yun Dan-shek (hypothetical)

The main goal of this plan is simple: Take as much of the Chinese Mesopotamia so that we trouble ourselves with the Tibetans beyond the river. Our siege engines can handle the shores.

The dotted golden lines show possible attacks from this possiblity. Consider them contingency plans, at worst.

The city to the west will be taken by our troops there, led by the General Lao Zhe.

In the north, General Wu Dao will campaign with the Dinghisics to drive away the Tibetans.

In the south, our brave Renmin Bing regiments and their cohorts will surge forward and possibly back, even if it is a grand-strategic distraction

Summary
Brave (verb)
Break Through
Besiege
Bombard (the shore)
Bereave

I believe that Guangling investment in field artillery would serve them well in defending in sieges.

Finally, the 1 eco point for civilizan relief will be used to help out all the "innocents" as described in the earlier PM within the Guangling jurisdiction, turning a blind eye to race and religion. Obviously, unwilling-to-cooperate towns and cities will not benefit this.

Contingency
Consider "retreat, hold, try to retake" the main contingency of the Guangling plans. And the last bit with the attacks of opportunity at the south and northwest, if possible.

If the Buddhists we get are still extremely loyal to the Tibetans, deny them of our humanitarian services.
