I love Chicago

'nuff said.

Not sure why people pick California. Oregon and Washington are full of people moving away from there.

yeah, Reaganomics typically screws places up, just look at California

West Virginia, because it's the only one that would like a real country if the Union was dissolved.

...
...
you included Idaho in favor of, oh, Missouri?

Vermont. I'd settle for Montana. Neither is on the list.

I'm biased towards my own home state :p. I'm also disappointed that the OP forgot Lucy's State (cookie goes to whom can correctly guess the state :p)

I'm surprised Maryland isn't #1 on a Civ forum. After all, it's where Firaxis is located. ;)

It's also where PG County is located

Gotta go with my home state of California.

I mean you can't beat snowboarding in the morning, then getting in a car driving a few hours, and being on the beach surfing all on the same day.

Plus we have the best weather. A cold day in California is 60 degrees.

The only problems are the budget and the schools (and illegal gay marriage )

Minnesota. A state that elects an ex wrestler Governor and an ex comedian Senator has to have something awesome going for it.

California, for reasons Owen has already stated.

Plus Los Angeles is a big multicultural city. Wonderful place (also one of the only places in the world where you can get shot for pointing with the wrong fingers :p).

Guess now we have to wait and see.

Although I voted for California, I am perplexed that the only New England state in the poll is Connecticut. Connecticut. C'mon.

Yes I should have definitely included Massachusetts.

That was a big omission on my part, I apologize
