The thread itself is only for discussion of completed units. If you want to discuss other naval units not yet posted please visit my thread on the main creation page.

Currently I am not taking requests for this time period nor am I planning on doing many at the moment. I will occasional add ships as they peak my interest.

As I was saying, it's indeed a great unit with awesome animations! I especially like the run anim, with the wave effect. The only downside is the 1-frame default, I would have loved to see another wave animation there. Also, perhaps the palette could use a higher contrast ?

Definitely a superb unit.

Is it just me or did ships and cars start looking allot less "cool" after the early 70s or so? It seems like by the mid to late 70s gone were the towering superstructures and radar masts, protruding gun turrets, etc. that made naval vessels the interesting pieces of hardware that they are. I realize the necessity of modern designs it's just that in my mind they lack the "charm" that their predecessors did. Most modern designs have all the attraction of a 1980s Ford Mustang.

That all said I am in no way insulting Delta's latest work, it's as awesome as ever.

They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, perhaps I'm just a helpless traditionalist.

Beauty is indeed a subjective thing: personally I've always thought some of the 1960s and 1970s warships to be very beautiful ships indeed,
especially the large missile destroyers of those eras such as the French Suffren class:

Wolfhart, you won't hear any disagreements from me. I've always thought that naval vessels of the 50s and 60s were for the most post some really good looking designs, especially allot of the missile conversions of WWII era ships, they had a sort of Frankenstein-ish appeal to them. Whereas by the late 70s ships like the Spruance class had the aesthetic appeal, at least in my mind, of a cardboard box.
