Events Spoiler : Germany rolls a 3! November 3rd, 1910 There are mass demonstrations in the street, as large portions of the German people protest the awful working conditions of German workers in factories, and the generally dreadful position of lower class Germans in German society. They rally to the cry of "One for all!" It is expected that, given time to ferment, these series of demonstrations and revolts could lead to a full blown revolution. Poland rolls a 9! September 25th, 1910 Thanks to the reforms passed by the Polish parliament last season, the imminent revolution was brought into check. The rise of quality of life of the Polish public has caused them to become more concious about their situation, thus creating a generation of young Poles who, in a rage of idealism, wish for universal rights and government aid to be applied to all Polish citizens. Kalmr rolls an 18! September 29th, 1910 "The Battle of Guangzho," said a Norwegian professor to his class, "is a name that refers to a series of conflicts throughout the administrative region of the Xia Republic. Thanks to brilliant Kalmar planning, excellent discipline, and top-of-the-line equipment, we have brought, with this battle, the Chinese Region one step closer to permanent stability and peace! We, Kalmar - protectors of prosperity!" Throughout the late summer and autumn of 1910, the Kalmar lower class was rallied by sights of Kalmar naval dominance; the one-sided victory in the Zhujiang River Estuary, successful demands from the Korean Empire, and naval demonstrations all along the Kalmar coastline. The people trully believed they were the greatest nation on Earth - "Glory to our Union, ruler of the world!" Novgorod rolls a 10! November 20th, 1910 An increasing number of people throughout the Novgorod Republic are seeking a unification of the People of Rus'; nationalistic sentiment, specifically around the Muscovy and Novgorod regions, are a growing trend, along with revanchism against the Polish. Though the movement is small so far, it has the potential to grow to become an overriding part of society. Officials in Novgorod worry about what effect this could have with mutual Novgorod-Polish relations. Baltic Union rolls a 3! September 23rd, 1910 The recent communist uprising (which quieted down after their demands were met) in Poland has instilled the flames of Marxist passion in many a young socialist and communist heart, throughout Eastern Europe and the Balkans. In particular, the Baltic Union - the disparity between the lower class industrial workers and the aristocrats - the merchants - grew wider with each day. One could go to a common peasant's home and see not a bed on the floor, nor food on the table; and barely a roof over their heads. The merchants, however, gilded their bread with gold and encrusted their roof with silver ingots. The growing tension and disparity between the two classes have finally broken out, with a known communist to the name of Hermann Adler leading a group of discouraged workers through the streets of Riga, marching to Parliament, to attempt to negotiate some reforms. Unfortunately, police units had been called in and things became violent; ten communists were killed, and one officer fell to a rock to the head. The growing tensions in the Baltic Union could, soon, lead to a full-blown revolution... Georgia rolls a 13! December 1st, 1910 Progressive reforms over the past few months by the Georgian government have caused the working populace to largely quiet down in the nation, with Georgia having some of the strictest safety laws in the world, along with a high minimum wage and unemployment subsidies. Workers from all over the region are migrating to Georgia so that they can work in such conditions. Karaman rolls a 2! October 25th, 1910 During the middle of the night, a small convoy of Karaman supply ships were destined for the Bulgarian rebels; they did not want the strong Romanians but the weakened Bulgarians on their border, which would greatly help the cause of border security. Unfortunately for the supply ship, a Romanian shore battery had spotted them, opened fire, and managed to sink one before the other ships turned around and sailed back to port in Sinope. Nearly two tons of weapons and one unlucky captain's ego was lost. Romania rolls a 12! October 19th, 1910 Thanks to the quick thinking of the Romanian army, the Roma-Bulgarian border was secured a merely four hours after the rebellion began. With thick, concrete fortifications the Romanian army stood up to the Bulgar rebels, and a stalemate has ensued along the border, with the Romanians dug in to deeply to be removed by the Bulgarians and the Bulgarians too numerous to be dislodged by a Romanian counterattack. Bulgaria rolls a 9! October 18th, 1910 With the Romanian army based in Bulgaria forced out, the Bulgars had an easy time occupying their rightful land; indeed, the people welcomed them! However, when the Bulgarian Revolutionary Army began its march north, to deal the final blow to the Romanians, they encountered an enormous wall of concrete - bunkers, walls, battlements, barbed wire, trenches... The Romanian Army was dug in deeply, and there would be no removing them for the time being. The Bulgarian army now much dig in themselves and wait out the war. Sicily rolls a 19 August 25th, 1910 It couldn't be a better day for the landing. The sea was calm, the beach was warm, and the North African soldiers had no idea they were coming. The Sicilian government issued an "apology" for Sicilian build up in the Med. near the NAC, which the NAC had bought and pulled several soldiers off the coastline. Though when the landing happened, they wouldn't be terribly far away, it would mean they were less prepared and the innate advantage the defender has will be mitigated greatly. This battle was going to go well. (North African defense bonus -20% to 10%) Serbia rolls a 6! October 1st, 1910 "We don't wish to live under the Sicilian yoke!" cry protestors in the streets of Kosovo, in response to Serbian trade and defensive pact with the Sicilian Empire. To many Serbs, this has been seen as a sort of handing over of Serbian sovereignty - and they dislike it. Led by one Nedim Khreshinovic, Serbs throughout the nation are demanding that the defensive pact with Sicily be rescinded, so as to "protect Serbian sovereignty." Austria rolls a 13! November 5th, 1910 Due to a series of sweeping reforms, giving minor unemployment subsidies to workers and pensions to those too old to work, Austria remains quiet during the European October Revolutions. While Austria is not exactly a bastion of stability, it is faring better than many European states, with the workers fairly content with their lot in life. Combined with a general economic upswing, the Austrian nation is in a good position, coming into Autumn of 1910. Italy rolls a 14! October 17th, 1910 Though Italy experienced some civil unrest during the October Revolutions, it was not socialist or communist unrest; instead, it was revanchism and anger. The Sicilian Empire, after its outrageous demands in the summer, have caused many formerly pro-Sicilian Italians to become very anti-Sicilian. Combined with troop buildup in Pisa, long considered a rightfully Italian region, the general populace of Italy is turning against their Sicilian neighbors, and many are calling for a forceful restoration of Pisa - and, indeed, Sicily - to the Italian Kingdom. Occitania rolls a 6! December 15th, 1910 An Occitanian agent, operating in the Catalonian Occitania region to ferment a patriotic fervor amongst the formerly Occitanian populace, has been captured by Catalonian anti-intelligence agents. The agent will likely talk; luckily, he has been given a capsule of cyanide, though it is unknown if he will take it. Occitania has yearned to retake control of Catalonian Occitania, after it was forecfully taken from them from the Catalan Army and will likely always be a point of tension between the two nations for as long as one of them controls it. France rolls a 3! October 5th, 1910 The Berry defector, Francois Hollande, has turned out to be nothing but a double agent; when maids went to his bedchamber late in the evening of October 5th, they discovered him gone, along with nearly three million francs which had been siphoned out of French banks. Since he was discovered so late, he is likely already in Berry, retiring to an estate there and surrendering extreme amounts of information he uncovered in his time in France. This betrayal has left many Frenchmen angry and demand his extradition to France from Berry. Bar rolls an 18! November 10th, 1910 A Bar strategist has developed plans for an extensive line of defense, to be built up around the borders of Bar against any nation who has proved itself to be an enemy of the People of Bar (Germany). The strategist, one Xavier Maginot, has been ordered to oversee the construction of these fortifications against their westernly neighbor. The fortifications, an extensive network of thick concrete and deep trenches, would prove impervious to near any assault on its position. Berry rolls a 17! October 5th, 1910 The brilliant double agent, Francois Hollande, has defected back into Berry territory, bringing with him nearly 3 million Francs and secrets upon secrets pertaining to France. He has been hailed as a national hero by those few who know who he is, and is set to receive a cushy manor near Bordeaux, to live the rest of his life out with those 3 million Francs. North French Confederation rolls an 8! October 19th, 1910 Tragedy struck, as a merchant ship destined for Inverness lost its way, striking the rocky Scottish coastline and sinking, losing every man and several million reichmark worth of goods. Though many point out that this would not have happened if the British government improved coastal safety with the inclusion of lighthouses and foghorns, the British government denies any responsibility for the tragedy, in which 75 people were killed. The Netherlands rolls a 6! December 13th, 1910 In the Dutch colony of Argentina, there are large amounts of nationalistic sentiment going on; Argentinians want independence and the Dutch want them to remain as a colony. Earlier this day, there were protests and demonstrations throughout Buenos Aires, with thousands of Argentines now seeking sovereignty, or at the very least, autonomy. If nothing is done by the Dutch, then it could result in a revolutionary war, akin to those of North America after the First Polish-German War. Catalonia rolls a 10! December 15th, 1910 Thanks to Catalan anti-Intelligence agents, an Occitanian spy has been caught, fermenting patriotic sentiment in Catalonian Occitania. However, revolutionary sentiment has increased significantly in the region, where the majority of people now wish for a reunification with their Occitanian motherland. It is possible that, in the future, Catalonian Occitania will rise up and rejoin with the motherland. Castille rolls a 12! October 18th, 1910 The Society for the Restoration of Castille is a brand new organizatoin in Castille, already with an impressive membership despite being only a few weeks old. The formation of this group is showing how much the Castillian people want to retake their ancestral land; to drive the Rereconquista out and to reestablish Christian dominance over Iberia once more. Portugal rolls a 20! October 19th, 1910 The Portugeuse workers have always been sturdy, industrious people; never more so than now. Over the past few months, Portuguese industrial outputs have increased by nearly 50%, thanks to the blood and sweat of Portugeuse workers (and new technology). This amazing output, coupled with Portugeuse upper class sympathy for the proleteriat, has led to high outputs and little in terms of civil unrest. Andalusia rolls a 15! October 21st, 1910 Andalusian vehicle designers have reached a breakthrough with their still-in-developmental phase "Jmalelmidfa." It is estimated that the actual developmental cost has been cut in half thanks to this breakthrough, which will add an impressive tool of war to the already-mighty Andalusian army. New Britain rolls an 8! November 29th, 1910 British citizens are demanding that the New British government improves the safety of shipping along the Scottish coast, after a NFF ship was sunk after striking off rocks during the night. They demand lighthouses, foghorns, and other safety measures to be employed all along the coast so as to avoid any more tragedy similar to that of the NFF ship that claimed the lives of 75 people. Ireland rolls a 5! September 22nd, 1910 Ireland's latest potato crop has failed, after a blight ravaged it year round. Irish politicans look on gloomily; there is no food for the people, and they are starving by the hundreds. Irish diplomats have been sent to every major nation in Europe, seeking help; there soon wouldn't be an Ireland if the famine keeps up. Irish are emigrating all over the world, fleeing from the blight; Amerika, Britain, Kalmar, Northern France. Ireland is going to be hurting badly for a while after this. Sibir Rolls a 7 One of the largest problems that the Sibir army faces is that of logistics. Sibir is a vast, and empty, nation with little in terms of population centers; thus, the usual course Sibir takes is to live off of the land to gather supplies. However, thanks to Scorched Earth tactics employed by Hindu and Afghani forces in Northern Afghanistan, this proved to be difficult; the sparsely populated region, combined with many farms and houses burned to the ground, laid waste to the Sibir Army. It was only the quick thinking and ingenuity of General Rabert kept his entire army from starving to death. (-10% combat modifier, -1 army) Mongolia rolls a 1! October 17th, 1910 A coup! The people, tired of the Khan's lethargy and defensiveness over the course of his reign, has been usurped by an aggressive and brilliant general, who promises to bring the people strength, glory, and land. The Mongol Army waits on the border of Qing, awaiting the command - the Yuan dynasty will be reestablished soon, the Chinese lands will fall to Mongol strength once again! The people are rallying around their leaders. The decision hinges on Korea, however - without Korean naval support, it would be a fool's venture. Afghanistan rolls a 20 Thanks to the young briliant minds of the Hindu Officer Corps, the Khan's invincible army was starving. The army, so used to living off the land, no longer had land to live off of - in the Coalition's retreat from Sibir positions, they had burned every farm and every building that could have served the Sibirians. Though the Sibir's general had kept the entire army from starving, at least one army's worth of troops had starved while a solution was created and the troops morale was shattered. It was a rousing success for the Coalition's efforts. (+10% morale bonus) Tibet rolls a 19! November 5th, 1910 Tibet agricultural specialists have developed a new system for agriculture, borrowing from the Incan terrace system; after some tweaks for the different enviroment and different crops, it proved to be a brilliant success, with Tibetan agricultural product increasing by nearly 50%. Many of the land's farmers, used to substinence farming, actually carried some of their crop to market to sell. This is an important mark of progress, as Tibet slowly manages to bring itself out of the depths of poverty. Qing Rolls - 15 After a particularly gruesome battle that left much of the Qing army decimated (yet still a victory), the Xia High Command decided it was an ample time to begin a counterattack, to help drive the Qing out of Xia. However, the Xia had not anticipated quite how extensive the Qing National Rail Network was; reinfrocements from the Mongol border and newly raised regiments from throughout China had reinforced Qing's position within 2 weeks, leaving the Xia counterattack no choice but to withdraw to their capital, at Guangzho. Xia Rolls - 4 After being forced to withdraw to the capital at Guangzho, the xia Glorious Leader, Wu Zetyan, stepped in to establish order. The troops had to form up, begin construction of fortifications - but no one was listening. Enormous steel warships, flying the flag of the Kalmar Union, had entered the Zhujiang River Estuary; Admiral Charles Rex, commander of the Indonesian Squadron, had entered the estuary. Shelling had begun. With her troops now fully demoralized, nearly half of them fled deeper into Xia. When Qing forces had pushed through the first lines of defense several miles out from the city, they discovered only 4 Xia armies ready to fight. Out at sea, Hong Kong had surrender to Kalmar forces (there were no troops available to defend it, and it had no choice - be shelled and invaded, or surrender). The 7 Qing legions, combined with Kalmar fire support, now fight in the streets of Guangzho themselves. Korea rolls a 4! November 19th, 1910 Patriotic demonstrators in Kyushu, determined to be reunited with their beloved Japan, have risen up. The demonstrators, who call themselves Japanese revolutionaries, are demanding that the Korean government surrender and give the rightfully Japanese land of Kyushu to the Japanese Republic. The demonstrators refuse to negotiate. Japan rolls a 1! December 15th, 1910 As Autumn rolls to a close, Japanese brokers and businessmen look on with worry. The Tokyo Stock Market, one of the global centers of finance, is showing a remarkable drop in stocks - people are selling them right and left, and a quick check of bank records show that large quantities of cash are being withdrawn from banks nation wide. The country, if this continues, will be faced with a disastrous depression that will likely send shockwaves out that will disrupt the economy of the entirety of Asia. As is, Japan's economy is steadily dropping, and forecasters have a gloomy picture on the future of Japan's economy. Manipur rolls an 11! November 15th, 1910 Trade between Hindustan and Manipur has always been a staple of both nation's economies, with Manipur goods often showing up in Hindi shops and Hindi crops often finding themselves in Manipur markets. However, protectionists have been an increasingly large part of the Manipur government, and due to a recent event where a Hindi caravan was forced out of a Manipur market to make way for Manipur goods, relations have soured and both sides are demanding an apology. Hindustan rolls a 5 Unfortunately, Hindu military planners hadn't fully anticipated the needs of an army, used to living in moist flatlands, who were now defending in high and dry mountains. Supplies were inadequete, the nights were cold without blankets, and the men's lives were generally miserable. There was little food to go around - the inept Hindu planners had decided to bring most of their supplies with them on large wooden carts, which could not traverse the mountains of Afghanistan. Dismayed, the troops were forced to carry as much as they could - which wasn't a lot. Famine was soon inevitable, and many, many Hindu soldiers starved to death before the Afghanis could scramble enough resources together to feed them all. (-3 Hindu Armies, -10% morale) Persia rolls a 5! October 17th, 1910 Due to Sibir aggression, Persia has been siphoning off much of its production to Afghani soldiers, fighting a desperate fight against the unstoppable Sibir Army. Unfortunately, this has not been the most popular move amongst the Persian populace - guns and bullets being produced in Persian factories and sold to Afghanistan could be shoes and blankets, being sold to the general populace. The population is fairly angry about getting involved in a war that does not effect them, and there have been demonstrations in Tehran, albeit small. Oman rolls a 12! October 2nd, 1910. Bells sound, as the formerly unmarried Egyptian Sultan marries the daughter of the Caliph. The event, which has been building up for nearly two years now, is one more step closer to Egyptian-Omani unity, and a great increase in relations between the two nations. The Royal Couple will depart back to Cairo, from Mecca (where they were wed) within the week. Judea rolls a 20! November 19th, 1910 The trade pact that was signed with the Sicilian Empire earlier this year has proved to be an extremely profitable venture. Sicilian goods have flooded Judean markets, and the relatively rich and well off populace have bought up every scrap; Sicilian corporations and factories have moved in, and some Judean politicians estimate that there is not a single unemployed man in Judea at this point in time. It is an economic boom, one where Judea can fully represent the worthiness of its independence. Egypt rolls a 5! October 2nd, 1910 The people of Egypt are gloomy; the royal marriage, between the Sultan and the Caliph's daughter, is just another sign of Omani dominance over Egyptian affairs. Though it has strengthened relations between Egypt and Oman, it is also just one more rope that binds the Egyptian people to Omani affairs, whether they want to or not. Free Africa rolls a 3! October 20th, 1910 The tensions, between the rich and the poor, have never been higher than in Free Africa. Once a bastion of liberty and independence in Africa during the Scramble, it is now little more than a burgeoise dream, with high taxes on the common folk and little on the high. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer; the people of Free Africa have finally had enough. Radicals, led by Josef Wladislaw, have led the population into an uproar; a few bastions of the lower class still support the upper, but the vast majority of the populace has risen in arms, to push the burgeoise out. The Free African Revolution has begun! NAC rolls a 16 August 25th, 1910 "Hit," muttered a naval officer, aboard the Saladin. The battle had begun early in the Sea of Crete; the admiral had seen the troop transports, headed towards Benghazi. Taking the chance, he had opened fire, along with the rest of the NAC Fleet. One of the men on the bridge floated the theory that an entire army had been on that large steamer transport; the admiral certainly hoped so. As it stood, the NAC was at a severe disadvantage, but had managed to destroy two or three ships of the Sicilian Fleet before the word got out that the fighting had started. And now the NAC Navy had to prove itself. On the horizon, a fleet of pirate ships could be seen; they would defend their sovereignty, as well. (-1 Sicilian Army, -1 Sicilian Navy +1 Pirate Fleet to NAC) Canada rolls a 7! December 20th, 1910 Recently, Vestkysten and Amerikan customs officers have been seizing Canadian goods as they are exported out. Both sides claim that, because of Canada's nature of freely trading with both sides in the conflict, it is a breach in national security, and must stop; both sides are asking that Canada stop trading with the other side, and customs are not allowing Canadian goods through until they decide. Vestkysten roll - 1 As Vestkysten troops retreat under the might of the Amerikan Army, they received orders from High Command to retreat into the woods and mountains in the region and fight a geurilla, defensive war until reinforcements could arrive. Unfortunately, Vestkysten commanders had not anticipated quite how aggressive the Amerikan Army was, who had pushed up with an enormous force to the midpoint between Amerika and Vestkysten. Vest Armies, trying to relieve their beleagured comrades near the Canadian border, were caught off guard by the impressive Amerikan assault and were forced to retreat themselves, suffering heavy casualties (Vestkysten loses 3 Army, 75 Manpower, +15 War Exhaustion) Amerikan roll - 11 With strong leadership and disciplined troops, the glorious Amerikan Army, working to spread Amerikan ideals from sea to shining sea, have annihilated a chunk of the Vestkysten People's Army - first, near the Canadian border, and then near the center of New Jutland as Vest forces raced to reinforce their defeated brothers. The Vestkysten forces, caught offguard and with their pants down, were overwhelmed. Heavy casualties were sustained on the Vestkysten side, with very light ones on the Amerikan side. On a slightly different note, large numbers of Amerikan arms shipments have been shipped out to New Jutland militias ranging from the Canadian to Aztlani border, with permission to fire upon any aggressor nation. These militiamen have engaged with a large Aztlani army, crossing the border to claim a little bit of New Jutland for itself. Unfortunately for Amerikan planners, the Battle of Central Jutland and the large amounts of munitions diverted to militias have delayed Amerikan forces, who only managed to force their way through half of New Jutland, rather than to the Vest border. Aztlan roll - 14 As Aztlani forces roll into southern Texas, large portions of the communities along the Aztlani border have pledged themselves to Aztlan, hoping that it will instill order and purpose in their lives; this has caused two militia regiments to rise up and join the Aztlani push north. The resultingly large force has pushed the militias out with little bloodshed, but the militias, without Amerikan high command to keep them in check, have launched a counterattack. (Aztlani forces get 2 Armies) Florida rolls a 17! November 3rd, 1910 The damage done by the hurricanes of last season has been fully repaired, thanks to the generosity of Kalmar and Amerikan benefactors. Whenever a Kalmar or Amerikan tourist visits Miami, they are often treated like kings, thanks to the efforts of Amerikan and Kalmar donations and volunteers to help with the crisis. Trade has been strengthened because of the increased relations, with many Floridian corporations starting branches in Amerika and/or Kalmar, proving beneficial for all sides involved. The South American Confederation rolls an 18! September 25th, 1910 New English trade expands to SAC! The bountiful natural resources, mostly unexploited, in the SAC has caused entrepeuners from all around the New English-Iberian-British Trade Route to establish mines, lumber yards, and factories in the SAC, bringing some of the valuable commerce of the EIB Trade Route to the SAC, vastly enriching the people's lives. The Incan Empire rolls a 10! December 15th, 1910 The new trade policies between the Inca and their masters, the Kalmar Union, are a mixed bag; on one hand, Kalmar trade has brought prosperity to the Incan people. On the other, it has also vastly increased the already large Kalmar presence in the Incan government. The population is equally divided; some wish for less Kalmar presence, others welcome the prosperity with open arms. New England rolls a 9! October 14th, 1910 A band of Englishmen, gathered in the capital, commemorate the fall of England. The anniversary of the Fall to the Danish barbarians is always a somber time of year for the English; it serves to commemorate the fallen, to prepare the living, and to announce that the English will, someday, return, to their homeland.
