NOTW L: The Immortals [Game Thread]

MetaMagic to ChineseWarlord. Isn't meta-magic his specialization? (though if he shows no sings of movement by the end of today, then I shall change this vote to someone more willing to do something with this mana)

Also, Visor, why are you so obsessed with giving manas to kennigit? This is the second day in a row that s/he has been offered manas without even asking for them and you are the first to offer them. I don't think either of you is a traitor, but you seem to have to high of an opinion of Kennigit's qualifications.

[OOC: I will write something more substantive if I have more time]

I know Kennigit can use sun mana, hence me giving it to him.

I want to know what I can do with the mana available. If someone would show me their mana I'd appreciate it.

The Prespurian Regent stands and taps on a crystal goblet, asking for everyone's attention.

"Greetings, esteemed council members. I bring important news.

In the night, I was approached by someone who has a very good stated reason for needing the Entropy Mana. This person only requires the one, and through long discussions with this person I believe it will benefit our cause. Here's the thing- this person's identity needs to remain hidden for his own protection. His life is rather important to us all.

I know what I am about to propose requires trust. I understand I was voted the Death Mana yesterday, and for me to ask another favor of the council is pressing matters. But this is far more important than me, this is for the benefit of us all.

I offer the council the following choice:

  • Trust me to hand the Entropy mana to this very important person, discreetly, by voting me the Entropy Mana.
  • If you are wary of me, I offer an alternative- **Select a representative**. Someone who we agree has been acting in our best interests, someone we know cannot be a demon, someone we trust to complete the necessary task. If you believe giving me this mana is too much to ask, I understand, but this mana must be delivered discreetly to a certain VIP.

What this representative does, when chosen, is they are voted the Entropy Mana. Then, I will reveal to this person who the VIP is who requires the Entropy Mana, and what it is being used for, what its purpose is. And then there are two of us who understand where the Entropy Mana is and why. And if any of us should fall in battle, the survivor could pass on that knowledge, just so the council knows what happened to it, in the event they have to know.

Then, our trusted representative hands the mana to this VIP, and we trust that no harm will come to this VIP.

It is vitally important, fellow council members, that the Entropy Mana reaches this VIP, because it will bring this one person 50% of the way towards a goal which has lasting, permanent benefits for everyone here in this council who desires peace.

The Sun Mana, I concur, should go to Master Kennigit.

I ask for the Entropy Mana, for now, but I am willing to change my vote to a chosen representative supported and trusted by the council. This is vitally important.

I could use the Mind orb, as that is another affinity of mine, but I am specifically not asking for it. I do not wish to concentrate the mana in too few hands.

I also do not wish to give the Amurite Wizard any further mana until the curse has lifted and he is awakened.

I am willing to discuss my vote for the other mana, especially with those who have supported me in the past, but- if there is a pressing need and you can explain it to me, even if you have not had previous dealings with me, I will hear you out.

The Sheaim Merchant is grinning broadly, and shouting in a thickly-accented voice...

Slaves, slaves, slaves!
Come on in slave lovers!
Here at Winston's Slave Emporium we’re slashing slaves in half!
Give us an offer on our vast selection of slaves!
This is a slave blow out!
Alright, we got elf slaves, human slaves, dwarf slaves, goblin slaves. We got hot slaves, cold slaves. We got wet slaves. We got smelly slaves. We got hairy slaves, bloody slaves. We got snapping slaves. We got silk slaves, velvet slaves, naugahyde slaves. We even got horse slaves, dog slaves, chicken slaves.
If we don’t got it, you don't want it!

Attention slave shoppers!
Take advantage of our penny slave sale!
If you buy one slave at the regular price, you get another slave of equal or lesser value for only a penny!
Try and beat slaves for a penny!
If you can find cheaper slaves anywhere, disenfranchise them!

The Prespurian Regent eyes the Sheaim Merchant's 'wares' lustfully....

"It is rather tempting...." he whispers to himself.

Branding and such.

The Regent nods approvingly.

"Well played.

For that, you get a fire orb, Merchant Hughes.

As for the slaves... do you have any very large, muscular men with a sort of... boisterous and outspoken personality, a kind of 'hear me roar' quality, perhaps someone that would be downright dangerous if not properly shackled, one that is wild and untamed, a fierce and dominating presence?

Perhaps, with eyes that are limpid pools of pale blue that sparkle in the moonlight, striking and imposing, yet soft and gentle like a summer's breeze... perhaps hid behind wavy strands of hair, the color of the harvest grain, that drift in and out of his gaze as the wind caresses his delicate brow?

I mean, I'm just looking, I.... might not buy."

I called Visorslash out a couple of days ago for an answer I didn't feel was adequate here and after that Visorslash starts accusing me, too reactionary for my liking.

There are some vampires eager to bring war to this place and I accuse Visorslash of being involved.

"I wish to note for the record that thomas.berubeg has said nothing to the council, seemingly totally absent.

Not only that, I have traced his footsteps to these very council chambers all of 6 hours ago. That means he has nothing to say to the rest of you, but he wants very much to hear what you have said.

I formally accuse him of being a traitor, and Demon."

Sun to Kennigit
Entropy to ATPG
Mind to Verarde
Meta to Bad Player
Fire to Winston

(OOC: I am very limited on internet time over the weekend, so be patient with any responses to PMs that you may be waiting on.)

I am willing to trust you on this VIP thing, ATPG.

My governor was killed tonight and I will see him avenged. This can not stand and whoever did this is kindly asked to step forward now or feel the consequences later.

The adventurer is sitting, hunched over some parchment, quill in hand. He writes with the careful and considered hand of the seasoned mapmaker, albeit with the occasional twitch of one who has in his time had to pen a few ransom letters under extreme duress, sometimes from orcs.

I'M JUST SPENDING A BIT OF TIME TALLYING UP THE ACCUSATIONS FROM THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, BECAUSE AS WELL AS MY BRAWN, MY BRAWN, MY AMAZING HAIR AND OF COURSE MY MIGHTY BRAWN, I ALSO HAVE BRAINS TO SPARE!!!!!

SO FAR THE VOTE THAT STANDS OUT THE MOST AS BEING UNUSUAL IS THIS ONE:

There's no case or logic here, because EVERYONE is blindly sending the mana to the guy who wants it first. REALLY?!?!?

Frozen In Ice. FoS choxorn.

THE SITUATION AT THAT POINT WAS: NINTZ 2, CHOXORN 2, A BUNCH OF OTHERS (NOT INCLUDING FROZEN) 1, ROBBIECON 4.

BOTH FROZEN AND CHOXORN VOTED FOR ROBBIECON ON SIMILARLY WEAK REASONING.

BACKWARDS LOGIC COULD HAVE PUT A LOT OF PRESSURE ON CHOXORN, BY PLACING A VOTE AGAINST HIS NAME. INSTEAD, HE WASTED IT ON FROZEN, WHO WAS IN NO DANGER OF BEING LYNCHED.

SO ROBBIE WAS LYNCHED, AS YOU KNOW. THE FOLLOWING DAY, BACKWARDS LOGIC WAS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BLOCKS - WITH A VOTE FOR CHOXORN, NOW SAFE FROM IMMEDIATE DANGER. (HE REMOVED THAT VOTE SOON AFTERWARDS.)

BACKWARDS'S VOTE WAS ONE WITH NO CONVICTION. WHETHER THIS IS BECAUSE HE IS SOMEHOW 'IN LEAGUE' WITH CHOXORN, OR, MORE LIKELY IN MY EYES, IF HE SIMPLY WANTED TO BE SEEN TO BE AGAINST A LATE-DAY BANDWAGON WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING TO SET IT OFF COURSE, I DON'T KNOW. EITHER WAY, HE DESERVES MY INITIAL VOTE FOR TODAY AND I WOULD QUITE LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HIS REASONING WAS. AND WHAT HE'S CURRENTLY THINKING, TOO. SO FAR HE'S BEEN VOTING THE OCCASIONAL MANA TO HIMSELF AND ARGUING WITH ASKTHEPIZZAGUY, BOTH RATHER EASY THINGS TO DO!!!!

Also, Visor, why are you so obsessed with giving manas to kennigit? This is the second day in a row that s/he has been offered manas without even asking for them and you are the first to offer them.

i'm a bowMAN, not a bowwoman!

I'm also a demon hunter. Now, the results of last night is a little ambiguous, but my spell that works against demons was successful against Seon.

Easier than shooting apples off someone's head. Which is pretty hard to do, don't go hunting demons by yourself.

If for some reason Seon is not a demon, well, he needs to fess up a lot anyways since he has not revealed much of himself. Other than the likely false claim that he was a "normal human" [in talking to me, saying vampires are different than humans "like you and I"]

Kennigit sun mana

Really,

Cause it was totally ineffective. I got attacked but received no damage.

Did any vampires feed on seon last night? Please come forward if you did.

actually I may back off that claim a little bit (I got over eager), so proceed with caution people. Success means it casts.

but you still need to talk anyways Seon

though, speaking of which, vampires need to slow down on their munchies since spell casting success depends on max strength. You are weakening the town.

I also urge people to transfer death Mana to King exar so that the town can gain more strength from the result of today's lynch. The town as a whole could gain +2 strength.

Which, if we lynch a random innocent without a particularly useful ability, the town would gain strength (+2 complete lynch, +2 death mana 3, -2 random innocent default strength)

[ninja edit]: of course, that's if we lynch an innocent rather than lynch a scum*

"I will speak with Seon in private. For now, I do not feel it is wise to support his death. Leave business with Seon to me, sir Kennigit. I have ways of making him talk."
