NOTW L: The Immortals [Game Thread]

"Now we know that Seon is 100% Guilty Guilty Guilty Guilty Guilty.

Thank you for your confession. I truly do appreciate it. Hugs and kisses, sweetie.

Have your buddies come and kill me tonight. I ask to be watched, one more time. I'm willing to die to bring down two of you, bucko."

"Anyone who can block night actions target Seon tonight when he survives this lynch!! This is an order from the Prespurian Regent, acting under the command of King Exar!!"

Make sure to take a picture of yourself reading the update when I flip, pizza.

Be kind and send at least 3 vamps after me tonight. Any less and I won't be killed.

"Oh come off of it.

WHY did you just lie to me, you silly, silly, strange little servant?

Get real. If you're claiming to be innocent now, you have a LOT to answer for. Start answering."

"There's no balanced power, guilty or innocent, that can stop unlimited lynches. This means the guilty parties can utterly annihilate us and our ONLY power to battle them is vampire biting, which is weak, and there are only a few vampires at all.

You have more power than the Gods themselves if you were telling the truth.

So, seriously, you deserve everything that's about to happen to your sorry servant butt.

I asked you to cooperate with this Inquiry, and instead, you're lying to my face and INSULTING MY INTELLECT by coming up with lies so outrageous that it makes me want to throw this goblet of blood in your face right now.

How dare you insult me like this? I am the Prespurian Regent, you slave cur!

Be grateful we are in council session, because if we were in a place where law and order did not reign, I would strange you myself."

I'm claiming to be innocent now, pizza.

So you may be asking... Why am I making the town, quote unquote, waste a lynch by targeting someone who I know to be innocent aka myself?

Because f*** that, that's why. You need to be taken down a notch. People need to know that your reasoning is faulty and should not be blindly followed. People need to learn that there are some requests, no matter how good the authority seems to be, that should not be followed. Else, we risk the town falling apart simply because one man with neutral alignment with a sharp tongue can play the game well.

I'm claiming to be innocent now, pizza.

"The oh-so innocent blood pet who lies about having powers he cannot possibly have, of course. You must have unlimited Chaos mana for you to be able to perform this task over and over and over again, because I've seen the description of Chaos mana. It functions precisely ONCE!"

So you may be asking... Why am I making the town, quote unquote, waste a lynch by targeting someone who I know to be innocent aka myself?

"Not only that, probably waste TWO lynches, slave mongrel!"

Because f*** that, that's why. You need to be taken down a notch.

"Yes, I need to be taken down a notch by wasting two of our lynches, after you have lied to everyone here in this council and refused to cooperate at all with this inquiry! I have been attempting to give you ANY recourse to stop this from happening and instead you insult me with your inept bald-faced lies!"

People need to know that your reasoning is faulty and should not be blindly followed. People need to learn that there are some requests, no matter how good the authority seems to be, that should not be followed. Else, we risk the town falling apart simply because one man with neutral alignment with a sharp tongue can play the game well.

"People need to know that if they're innocent and lie to this council about being not only immortal by being impossible to lynch, but that they could single-handedly stop this council from meting out any form of justice whatsoever, that they will be destroyed by whatever means necessary! And if that means every single vampire in this meeting place comes storming through the doors of your servant chambers tonight and brutally smashes in your skull, that's precisely what's going to happen next.

If you were innocent you wouldn't have played the hand you played today.

And if you somehow just did, you really should be ashamed of your behavior, and how dearly it is going to cost us.

You may want to stop talking to me right now, because I am beyond furious with you, and it seriously is only the fact that there are palace guards standing nearby that I don't crush your throat myself."

The claim that you can stop unlimited lynches Seon is very clearly a lie. No one is that powerful. I'm not sure why you would even make that claim unless you were a very desperate guilty person. Verarde Seon.

"This is all on you, bloodpet. I'm the entire reason you didn't get lynched yesterday, and wouldn't have called for your head at all today if you had cooperated or spoke truthfully."

The Regent storms out of the chambers, furious beyond all words, unable to restrain either his tongue or his sword any further.

I just did. I feel pretty good about myself, really.

Admit it, you are lynching me because you have nobody else, and that's only to be expected. It's day 4, I don't expect there to be any leads, not to save myself or to name the next guilty party.

If you weren't such a pompous bastard with your vampire coddling despite the fact that, from what i have just heard (your only proof is that you can track whether or not they feed? are you freaking kidding me?) they are equally likely to be either demon affiliated or usurper as I am, then I might have felt a little bit more bad about it. Maybe even accepted it.

Matter of fact, no. Your logic is faulty. Your entire basis for finding if someone x or someone y is guilty is faulty. I'll make as much noise as possible to hammer that in.

So you are sticking with your story that you can stop unlimited lynches? You won't even claim there is some sort of catch?

Oh there is a catch.

I told a trusted friend that. He's totally free to reveal it.

OOC, since I'm technically not here right now
Spoiler :
Seon, if you are innocent in this game, pal, I will never begin to understand why you did what you just did, and I will personally feel very disappointed with how you've conducted yourself. Truthfully. You never do this when you're innocent, you are going to be lynched, and making sure the innocent team is only forced to use one lynch is the correct play.

Resistance to this incontrovertible fact is either proof of guilt, or own-team sabotage.

I don't believe you're this poor a player. I can only conclude you're guilty.

If that's incorrect, this is all still your fault. You cannot lie to us like this. I'm sorry.

OOC addendum
Spoiler :
TBK could only see the first tier of what Chaos mana does. It's possible Seon's team has more than one Chaos Mana. If that is the case, he may be able to use multiple Chaos mana to, perhaps, cause the second most voted person to die instead of simply nobody being lynched. Or worse, cause someone of his choosing to be lynched instead. Any such power is absolutely, 100% guilty. No innocent can have such a power.

OOC: All the previous times, I did not have an ability stop lynches, pizza.

Fine, I'll admit one of the reasons I'm doing it. I'll send you a PM.

I remember one time long ago in a galaxy not so far away, that I claimed immortal. It resulted in me being lynched as if they wanted to test me. I died of course and my innocence was revealed. What can we learn from this? I have no idea really.

I believe my servant has his reasons for this claims so I will continue with accusing Backwards Logic for something.

My thoughts on what has transpired:

1: I still am unconvinced that Vampires are innocent. Sure, you can discuss whom to feed on, and who feeds on whom, but unless everyone who has been fed on reliably comes forward (which is very unlikely with half a town of inactives, and various demons who won't admit it), any Vampire-Demon or Vampire-Usurper can still pass as innocent by claiming that a: they fed on supposedly nuke-immune Seon, who IIRC claims that as the bloodpet he cannot be killed by feeding or b: they fed on an inactive who won't come forward or c: The person they "fed" on isn't coming forward and has something to hide or d: pretending to be inactive (*cough* jht *cough*)

2: Seon can't have the ability he claims. First, a town player would not just waste lynches to make a point, when his innocence would serve the same purpose instead and much better. Second, if he's vampire-immune and lynch immune, then he's invincible, which is completely unbalanced. No such being could exist, or else they would rule this world by now like Mulcarn once did (OOC: Sprig wouldn't make a role that OP).

3: Seon could be a jester (i.e. a death seeker), though is probably a panicking usurper. Even if he is a jester, the game won't end with his victory (OOC: Game-ending jesters are also unbalanced and generally don't make much sense in-universe) and we can move on to finding other enemies. (Frozen in Ice, can you confirm or deny that Seon shares your 2nd VC?)

I still want Verarde to give evidence of his behind the scenes labors, but for now Seon should die or surrender his chaos mana to the consul.

B: I can stop unlimited number of lynches.
Why would this possibly be an innocent ability? Exar gains strength from lynches, and the lynch is the best way to eliminate demons/usurpers - this is mafia/NOTW 101.

The Sheaim Merchant, who looks even less well than earlier in the day, has taken the dramatic step of closing his Slave Emporium for the afternoon...

Well, bathing in slave's blood didn't work, and now I'm having trouble keeping my food down. Perhaps if I got my hands on some Metamagic Mana, I might be able to conjure up some kind of cure...

Spoiler :
[OOC: It turns out that missing a day's work is not a lot of fun when you're too sick to do much more than lie on the sofa trying not to vomit.

The Prespurian Regent returns to the hall, after having consulted with allies and opponents alike in private. He seems calmer, and resolute, but has a grave expression on his face.

"Kennigit appears to have been a mason, and I believe I know who his partner is, and his partner is in need of the 2 sun mana.

I won't reveal his partner here, publicly, but I ask that the Sun Mana be given to Catharsis, who I trust to hand directly to the mason in question.

I have been trying to decide all day how the best way to get this done was. I realize that I am asking far, far too much of this council, and it is not only unwise, but not very much fun, to simply hand me every bit of mana I request.

I have already obtained the MetaMagic Mana that I need, and I am handing it to someone who will make a copy of it, and that makes 2. I will then ask that the original is handed back to the person who gave it to me.

Then, I ask that the one up for vote today goes to our friend the Sheaim Merchant, Winston Hughes, who intends to use it to destroy the Fire Mana he obtained yesterday, and convert it into something more useful for this council, a noble cause.

And I have no real reason to trust this man, but I'm doing it anyway. I'm going with my gut feelings.

Again, the Death Mana belongs to me and is quite necessary to be back in my hands.

My attack on Stuck in Pi last night reveals that my attacking strength is back down to exactly 1 damage. That means I have no more Death Mana remaining. One was stolen, and one was used to restore the Sheaim-Calabim relations.

That means my stolen mana returns to me, 100% of the time. I am the logical choice, and should I survive, I will generate more Death Mana for King Exar.

~~~~~~
Finally, I've requested that Seon give up his Chaos mana if he is in any way innocent. He wants to be put to death via vampire attack, to fulfill his personal goal.
This happens only if someone announces that Seon has handed over the Chaos mana. Otherwise he dies by the lynch, and then a second lynch, and I have no intention of risking the lives of my fellow vampires giving a known liar what he wants, which might very well be to crack the necks of my comrades as they approach him.
A Demon is going to be infinitely stronger than a Vampire in personal combat, he may be able to damage us in combat. That is why I am concerned that he is baiting us into a trap.
I want to know where the Chaos mana ends up.
Finally..."
The Regent takes out his sword, and tosses it to the floor.
"My sword is of absolutely no use to protect me against Immolation.
If you believe I am an innocent person, I require no less than 2 Water Mana to perform a spell of Self-Protection.
You have to hand it to me before Night Ends tonight, or I will die.
This must happen, or I'm dead, and you will have lost far more than you can possibly know.
I'm not just a leader, I am a very important person in many different ways."
