I swear I suggested the medieval version in this very thread...
The "backstory" to my scenario goes like this:
X City (code name until I can be bothered to think up a real name) is your average city-stricken-by-civil-war. It's a large city (capital, maybe) in the middle of a desert.
There are the "normal" 4 factions, and a slightly altered "Farmer's" faction:
-
The Survivors:
Once the every day normal civilians in the city getting torn apart by MG rounds, RPG's and the such, now they're getting torn apart by the living dead. They have to get past the Desert to the TV station.
-
The Authorities:
Were fighting "the Rebels" (both physically, and for the hearts-and-minds of the population), and have now called a ceasefire with the rebels so they can combat the Zombie threat. The only problem is how long will this last?... They have to destroy the zombies, and then everyone else to stop further contamination.
-
The Company:
On invitation by the government to do their crooked testing, they have now unleashed the horrible Z5N1 strain of the Zombie Virus onto the population of the city. They- like always- have to cover it up somehow.
-
The Zombies:
The companies created these monstrosities using the Z5N1 virus. It can raise the recently deceased, and is highly contagious among most un-living animals. However, it is not as strong as future versions of the virus, as it has not been "perfected". It is still lethal.
-
The Rebels:
Whereas they once were fighting the Authorities over who controls the state, they've now set up a temporary peace-fire. However, they have not committed themselves to fighting the zombies, due to them seeing this as the perfect opportunity to weaken the Authorities. They can mainly be found hiding out at their farms and Military Cache's dotted around.
-
The map:
The map is a little bigger than the previous one (standard, instead of small), and is on the mainland, as opposed to an island. However, x and y wrapping are on (to simulate the fact that you cannot escape the city, no matter which direction you run!), and a river runs through the middle of the map, although there are a couple of crossing points. The TV station is located in the very corner of the map, and is surrounded by deserts on all side, so that you can't walk from one point of the map and abuse the wrapping system to get there early!
The minimap:
I'll post some more in the morning. Right now, I need to go watch The Young Ones
