Look, I benefit from privilege, but I think relatively little of that has to do with my being a white cis male, and a great deal of it has to do with my living in a place that does not suck.
I'd rather be a gay person here in St Pete than some white dude in Camden, NJ

95% of the population isn't LGBTQ, the majority is still white.
Yeah identity politics works best when you're appealing to the majority. Trump proved that in 2016 and nearly did it again in 2020.

I forgot whether it was David Pakman or Kyle Kulinski who noted that liberal items on many state's ballots did exceptionally well (the ones that come to mind were increasing minimal wage & decriminalizing/legalizing drugs) but the candidates not so much. In other words liberalism is such a toxic brand for many Americans that even though they may agree w/ their policies they find it hard to stomach voting for a left candidate.

You can call such people ignorant but it doesn't change the responsibility of the democratic party to work on their brand to one that serves the working people and the needs of all as opposed to trying to be the wokest.

Liberals should focus on policies rather than trying to patronize various groups.

Did anyone make sure he had a good nap?

haha
Well it was already postponed for two hours and perhaps he is still napping because he is now 7 minutes late.
Let's see what happens further.

Yea I will not argue this, so how do we bring back a significant section of the populace who has fallen into clear despair back from the brink before its too late without turning into villains ourselves.

I, personally, would suggest a massive Nuremberg tribunal event for all the high criminals in Federal Government, or retired from it, from both major parties, and a Constitutional Convention to create a modern, democratic, and truly human rights respecting form of government, after allowing any State (or any of the five external Territories and/or Commonwealths in the Pacific and Caribbean) that really wants to, and has the support of a great majority of it's people, to peacefully secede and form it's own nation. But that's probably NOT very likely. Most other solutions would retain more inherent problems, and people of power from both major parties capable of causing said problems, intact in the fold.

People's Court! :D

I don't think he will speak tonight.
He's going to in a matter of minutes. I expect it will be more of a "message" than an "announcement" of any sort.

Are you seriously arguing that anyone loves Biden or that they don't hate Trump? Listen to Whitlock's video. Trump's people love him because he fights for them, he stands up to the bully and he never gives up. I understand you find loving Trump incomprehensible, but 50+ million people do. J

The same people that elected GWBush twice.
The same people that elected a brothel owner
The same people that elected a dead person

AP called the senate race in GA a runoff. Curious if they're going to call it for Biden soon?

That's pretty much how I see it. Even if someone isn't a raging bigot they're hearing "you don't care about us" and some PoC think you're patronizing.

I don't think the message is the problem but the messaging.

Look at how much flak the DNC gets for pushing centrists. That's how you win.

Pelosi and Biden were around when the liberals basically got decimated, Reagan carried California.

Even here the can't really push the "wokeness" to much. PMs a social liberal but she's realistic.

Some problems do kinda go in the to hard basket, you can't fix them in one electoral cycle.

In US terms they need to reliably flip a big state or several small ones.

That's gonna take a decade or so.

Biden will likely win but those swing states far from secure. He might win like Trump with a squeaker of a margin (where it matters).

Why not? The Founding Fathers officially invested all empowerment of the Republic in "You the People of the United States of America," remember.

You could be right, MSNBC just referenced it .

Actual moderate feelings will take time. They can't be forced. U.S. politics took well over a century to move beyond the Civil War as a theme...

May as well rub a lamp and ask the genie for world peace. At least you have a polished lamp at the end of it.

I thought you weren't a communist

I have the Chase Centre now on my screen

I thought you weren't a communist

I'm not. Power of the people isn't a uniquely Communist ideal, you'll be surprised to learn. Pericles, the creator of the Ancient Athenian Democracy came up with it first. In fact, "power of the people," is the rough translation from Koine Greek of the word, "Democracy."

Another batch of PA votes are due within the hour. Maumee they'll call it? I've given up all hope

Significant and meaningful reform and mass trials of criminals in a single sovereign nation is IMMENSELY easier to accomplish, relatively speaking, than world peace. The former actually has been accomplished quite a few times in history, the latter, never to date.
