I've never been in an echo chamber based on any ideological point of view. Mostly because I like to debate and take to task people I believe are erroneous or foolhardy, in my opinion, regardless of their ideology or socio-political stance. Are they really as bad as they say?
Can't tell if you are joking or have difficulty reading a room

Biden sounds like a President. Forgot what that was like

I don't know, there. With Bolsanaro, Bukele, Duerte, Erdogan, Orban, and Lukashenko, Trump may be in a vogue class of "Presidential-sounding," heads-of-state in the current zeitgeist. :P

"taxes through the roof" is largely responsible for every bit of fairy tech that makes your life so wonderful today. gtfo of here with this garbage.

It's called the free market. And that tech is based on real science that exists in the real world. Not what if stuff that's only been rendered through 3d software and appears only in news articles.

Besides I don't want my gas bill going up. The cheap fuel we have now is good for the consumer. Ain't nothing changing that.

Sorry, Gary? Is that Kiwi slang?

Gary Indiana.

US has spots like that but yeah Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia etc. Go outside certain parts of the capital everywhere looks like that and worse.

Americans to comfortable to overthrow the government.

And the "free market," allowed the creation of the corrupt plutocracy that hijacked the American Republic, took all meaningful choice from the voters, used big money to help rig the elections, and overt bribery to make sure politicians of both major parties kowtow to big corporations over their constituents, while the U.S., the nation with the largest total GDP in the world, has a wealth disparity the vast majority of Americans live as though they were in a nation with a much lower GDP, and healthcare and quality education access and safety security net are among the worst in the First World. Isn't Capitalism grand?!

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...heapest-sources-of-power-in-most-of-the-world

Solar and onshore wind power are now the cheapest new sources of electricity in at least two-thirds of the world’s population, further threatening the two fossil-fuel stalwarts -- coal and natural gas.

The levelized cost of electricity for onshore wind projects has fallen 9% to $44 a megawatt-hour since the second half of last year. Solar declined 4% to $50 a megawatt-hour, according to a report Tuesday by BloombergNEF.

And Obama started the fracking boom, not Trump.

It takes millions of years to turn plants into oil. It doesn’t take millions of years for plants to start taking CO2 out of the atmosphere. Plant a few million trees and that’s...I dunno... a lot of CO2 taken out over the lifetime of those trees. It may not be the cure for global warming by itself but it can be a part of it. Plus it’s really cheap and easy to do. There is really little downside and a whole lot of upside.

Might be the most dense take I've ever read. The free market has not brought you anything, its reiterated it, made it leaner, pulled more out of it.

Your gas bill has been artificially subsidized for decades. The truth is our entire infrastructure has been built around fluffing oil profits. Stop it. You are not actually benefitting and you, your children, and their children are suffering and will continue to suffer at worsening levels as this continues.

is your take literally do nothing?

Even the world's most socialist nations were built on the backs of the capitalist industrial revolution. Socialism didn't build nations, merely inherited it. Meanwhile they export their industry to nations of a less equal standing to do the dirty work.

And tell me will it be cheaper?

Most US citizens can power their homes and cars for daily usage without any fossil fuels and they will save thousands per year. gtfo with this misinformed nonsense man its hard to even read this level of stupid on a civ forum.

And tell me will it be cheaper?

Yes, right now. Cheaper in long run but expensive up front. The wealthy are already making this move across the nation.

I didn't say otherwise. It seems you're assuming my economic views based on an inflexible Capitalism vs. Socialism binary, like mine, many other people's, are presumptively assumed, both American and around the world, based on an inflexible Democratic Party vs. Republic Party binary. Such binaries are artificial, contrived, and very often far from correct.
