My filtered water bottle seemingly no longer sells replacement filters. I don't want to spend $25 every few months on an entirely new bottle.

What is your preferred water bottle that comes with a filter, and can have replacement filters bought for? Ideally with a decent flow rate. My current bottle requires a fair bit of suction to get any water out and it makes drinking far more of a Task™ than it needs to be.

My original was a soft Brita bottle and the top part had mold issues because you can't properly clean it. I replaced that with a Bobble but now they don't sell replacement filters/tops, at least here in Canada.

Do you sometimes forget that you have a game in your steam library ? A few weeks ago the The Binding of Isaac was on sale, and when I tried to buy it I saw that I already have it. Then I remembered I bought it last December when it was on sale.

I do forget that I have certain games, but never while I'm trying to buy them. I'd say about half of my library has the "Hidden" tag either because they're bad games, I can't run them on my laptop, or they don't have replay value.

If I sell my body to science but then ensure my corpse is destroyed beyond any use upon my death, can the scientific institution I sold my body to sue my estate for breach of contract?

Well, you'll never find out...
Nobody else either. I don't think there's a good way to track where your body goes, for anyone outside the institutions, due to privacy concerns.

How do councils work?

How can you put me on the council and not make me a master? It's never been done before in the history of the Jedi!

edit: oh, county councils. Well I don't know the answer to that question

Generally, "inconvenient and frustrating" does not entail the death of millions of people.
Go big or go home, I say. It'd be unfair on society if, as Cutlass says, only your wife and kids get to participate in the fun.
Well I don't know the answer to that question

Is Ottawa's Aviation and Space Museum worth visiting?

I will have some time Friday to explore the city and do whatever I want. I will be seeking out used bookstores that sell sci-fi paperbacks as my #1 priority, but most of that will probably happen on Thursday. On Friday I have my whole day basically wide open for now, and Ottawa has a lot of museums I've never been to, so I figured out I would check out that one..

It's a bit out of the way though, but not a crazy amount.. so.. should I check it out or should I do something else? I'm sure somebody here has been there or knows stuff about it. I do love space, so this is right up my alley. Art museums are less interesting to me (but depending on the exhibit I will check it out). I also quite like natural museums, but can Ottawa beat NYC in that regard? That natural museum is my new standard for such museums.

I don't think any museums can beat NYC's, except maybe some in London. And the Smithsonian is in D.C., right?

Why does anyone buy people gift cards? You do not save anything compared to cash, they are less flexible (you can only use them in one store), and you can end up losing your money (case in point, House of Fraser). Yet according to that article, "the gift card market has doubled in the past five years and is now estimated to be worth more than £6bn annually", presumably in the UK only. What is the attraction?

Because it's marginally more thoughtful a gift than just plain money?

I disagree. A gift card is usually for a specific location, which means the gifter is then dictating to me where I should be spending my money. That makes the gift more about them than it does about me. Just giving me plain money means they care enough about me to let me go buy what I want from whatever store I want to buy it from.

Everybody would prefer receiving money instead of a gift card but we can't simply give money as it would somewhat defeat the purpose of a gift. Christmas would just be people shuffling around cash to one another. Gift cards are lame but way better than receiving some rubbish you have zero use of. It's a compromise everybody can live with.
