Zelda MOD and scenarios thread

Considering that there isnt much info on Zelda, I think it would probably be best to take some freedom...for example make the whole map not just Hyrule, but some other areas, that you have to create. Civs are also alittle difficult.....I would try and do a few very diffrent civs and make them workable, rather then have some civs that are practically useless (The Kokiri for example would better be represented by Hyrule, rather then its own civ with no military really.)

I would have something like

Hyrule
Termnia
Gerudo
Gorons
Zoras
Dekus
Ikana
Maybe a general Evil civ representing Ganondorf (Stalfoes, Dinofoes, Moblins), but that could be combined with the Gerudo. I personally think both would be good to have espeically since these two civs both have a pretty good pool of units to draw from. (There are several female warriors, and mythological/magic units).

Then possibly take alittle freedom and add all those civs some other cities that don't appear in the game...You could also make up civs based on the game like Moblins, Dinofoes, Maybe another Humanish civ...As for Zoras, Gorons, and Gerudos, I think it would depend on map size on weather or not to combine the various groups of them.

If that could happen, then the Playground mod would have been finished in about 2 weeks.;)

It almost is. ;)

I don't see a Zelda mod with the differents peoples fighting each others and trading maps, it's not Zelda, it's just Lords of the Ring with Zelda names. But in a scenario, it's a different thing.

Player civ(s) (A few upgradable Hero units, a home town), "Dungeon" Civilizations (One town, no settler, an unmovable boss unit, with a unique resource under), settled Civs (a few town, no settler, resources to exchange; per exemple the Kokiri or the Gorons), traditional Civs (one starting town, settler, per ex: Ganondorf and his troups).

The world would be relativily static until Player Civ and Ganondorf Civ get big and powerful. These are the two big powers making the world shakes and changes.

I would like to play this kind of scenario !

I'm happy to help with this scenario/mod. I can help with anything to do with OoT, and WW, and could probably use some ex-nintendo nut freinds of mine to help with the other games (e.g. MM, LoZ 2, the 4 swords, etc.)...

That sounds like fun. :D

I agree. However, not everyone is always content with scenarios only. A random games may appeal to some people.

That is more or less what I was thinking. I think that we should also find a way to, if we decide to make a random .biq, make our own civs, that fit easily into the Zelda world. That way, we wouldn't have just 3 or four civs, we could have more.

The world would be relativily static until Player Civ and Ganondorf Civ get big and powerful. These are the two big powers making the world shakes and changes.

Definitely. We would, what? Make the first era for both of them relatively peaceful, then second era, Ganondorf gets some naughty techs, and begins rampaging...then about halfway through that era, the other ones learn techs that can help them...then they have a chance to start saving themselves from Ganondorf. We should absolutely have hero units. For the hylians, it would have to be Link, as well as for the terminians (different side of the mod). Ones for the others are a little difficult, although we could simply use the leaders of the civs in the games. For the Kokiri, since they aren't really warrior people at all, we could simply have the Great Deku tree as their king unit, and if it gets killed, then that would be the end of the Kokiri.

In the idea I've had of the scenario, only 'Player' civ and Ganondorf would be playable. Others civilizations would be the "theatre" for these two actors. It would be more easy for the gameplay (no need to have 8 functionnal civs or a dozen unique units per civ) and it could still have a multitude of civilizations in play.

Still in that idea, a good way to give the player civ more heroes throught the game would be :
A starting unit 'Unforeseen future' or other enigmatic name; no stats, no move, no action, not even disband. Upgrades to Impa when you've got the resource 'Sheikah Protection'. Sheikah Protection would be some preplaced ressources near (and only near) the Sheikah or the Hyrulian Civ (unplayable). Thus, the importance of keeping good relations with the others Civs.

Unplayable Civs could still have their own heroes (and kings); the Gorons could have Darunia, the Kokiri, as you said, the Great Deku tree.

Ah. I see what you are saying. I kinda missed the whole "upgradable hero thing". Thats a good idea.

EDIT:!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha!!! I just figured out how you can win the game!!! at least in a scenario liek that. The dungeons, that have the boss, and the little resource under it, the resource could be used by the player civ to build something that will prove winning thetemple (Medallions in Oot, the four things you had to get in Majora's Mask, etc.)

We could make it like the space race victory

Still about the whole idea "Two playable Civs" (I'm a little monomaniac here ;)) and the win conditions, we can have 2 sort of race.

Link Team

Space Race : Like you've said, using unique resources hidden under each dungeon.

Points : In each dungeon, there is a 'Medaillon' or 'Triforce Part' unit. Capturable, Immobile, Flag Unit, Hidden Nationnality (so, if, by chance, a unplayable civ capture a dungeon and this treasure, the Hero Team can take it back quickly without problem ? Need testing). Or something similar with Sacrifice.

Ganon Team

Space Race
: Using resources near each unplayable Civ (p.e. the same 'Impa Protection' that give a new hero to Link). Perhaps the space part need to have the resource near the town to be built, thus no commerce.

Points : In each capital, there is a 'Princess' unit. Capturable, Immobile, Flag Unit. Exemple: Princess Ruto for the Zoras.

A combination of that would be interesting.

I think that adult w/ epona shouldn't be included in that...

besides, if you were including epona, then you wouls ahve o ahve Link w/ epona from Majora's Mask as well

I had a little time free tonight, so here it is.
