2020 US Election (Part 3)

For starters, I did not vote for him in 2016 and just lived out my life normally. I did not entertain the idea of attacking Trump because I've been through it before with George W. Bush during his administration (For the record, I voted for Kerry in 2004 and I wasn't old enough to vote in 2000) and saw that it was not worth attacking Trump and lived out my life as normal, until around the time Gamergate came around and became miffed with identity politics being rammed down my throat.

The whole "Let's make fun of Orange Man Bad" did not appeal to me since I've already gone through "Let's make fun of Dubya" when I was younger.

Please take a moment to recognize the incredible amount of privilege it takes for you to be able to check out during a Trump presidency and not see any harm come to you or yours. While I understand the word "privilege" gives you 'Nam flashbacks of "Gamergate," I feel you're operating from a harmful perspective here where you think because you were able to ignore the "Orange Man," you think everyone else should have been able to as well. Trump's actions and rhetoric brought material harm to several demographics. He and his cronies have dismantled regulations and protections that were hard fought for over decades. If you were able to ignore his actions and see no risk come from it, you are in the demographic most responsible for his rise to power and also part of the demographic most capable of undermining his objectively harmful authority.

If you are of the belief that Trump is no different from Bush, that a Biden administration poses significant risk to the integrity of the US and your personal social paradigm, and that resistance to Trump is parallel to leftist radicalism, you are operating from a poisoned well. You cannot be angry that others refuse to drink from it.

The same sort and tenor of taunt post (just different targeting) that a mama's basement Alt-Right punk might use. I rest my case, @Cloud_Strife. Thank-you for proving my point.

For once in your life, can you not be condescending?

Guys that meme and Clouds spin on it was dead on. I’ve seen Cloud get hateful and stuff but that meme was not that at all. Frankly it’s a damn good point about America not living up to its ideals.

This cannabis-pushing crap (and the intimation that everyone has to succumb to the weakness of dulling their mental faculties to deal with any problems in life) has really gotten old. In fact, it's gotten downright disgusting and lowly.

I’m pretty sure you could use a sedative a bit more often in your life. Whether you acknowledge that or not is on you.

You should read this, @GenMarshall and meditate on it

Right?
Their head analyst made a pretty good case as to why they called it after getting a lot of backlash. His answer was basically: math
It may be crucial. The talk is that the next option for Trump is "Trump TV". If this sets him up in opposition to FOX news from the start, rather than in collaboration with them, it may cause some new axis of division on the right.

He should come over here.
Best weed here is west coast, it's wet over there and yeah.

Northland pot also good. Kinda like California.

One or two spots would probably do it it's fairly potent.

Laugh if Fox kinda turns on him.

I'm sure various people have or know about dirt to bury him.

No Trump TV if he's busy dodging charges.

No way. I don't see anyone of the Democratic candidates having been able to beat Trump, let alone pull off what Biden appears to have done, this cycle. I mean Trump is on pace to hit 70 million votes. That's more even than what Obama got in 2008.
I've been wargaming out alternate scenarios among the Democrats to reach Super Tuesday and I think any of them would have lost in a blowout except maybe Booker.

It's interesting to notice who was around when MobBoss used to bully GenMarshall, and who learned from the experience.
It's also interesting to see posters who claim they're done with a topic, or cause, while at the same time - often in the same post - raising that same issue but from another viewpoint.

Anyone who talks about the "radical left", for example, isn't done with identity politics. They're espousing reactionary labels that only make sense in the culture "war" of said identity politics.

Oh he's definitely running third party if he doesn't get the nomination. "Trump TV" is a perfect platform to set that up.

Interesting.

Argues Bernie would have done better.

Personally don't see it.
Economist has opinion.

And all that talk is just that, talk. Trump was an elitist of the worst kind, so established even his woeful business acumen didn't make him a distant memory. This is just a variation on: politicians aren't popular. Because their job requires them to talk bull. Because us humble people want to hear that bull. We can't deal with honesty, because when we get honesty, you're not going to get any votes. It's the exact same mechanism advertising works. We all know the claims are nonsense, since the manufacturer makes the claim, but! And this is a big Oprah Winfrey sized but, advertising works. The reason we get so much of that expensive advertising is, we react to it by buying that stuff. Politicians talk bollocks, but they have to talk bollocks, or we don't vote for them. Lets not forget that we, as consumers of politics, decide which way politics go. And the last 5 days have shown the American politicians, you don't get a slap on your wrist for talking more bollocks than the other guy, because it appeals to "the expandables". You almost win an election. The only reason you don't win is because you're an incompetent doofus yoghurt. But here's the troubling thought, what if the next guy isn't?

Learning is totes an assclown thing.

I'd say Trump isn't an elitist, he's a narcisso-oligarchist. If anything, he's anti-elitist as he has no notion of "elite", considering the only worth he find in people is only in relation to him.

I figure the NY attorneys will hold off until March before moving on him.
As unlikely as it is to actually happen... I kind of like the idea of him being dragged by his feet, kicking and screaming out the front door of the White House by the Secret Service, after them being issued a Court Order to do so... as he clutches an area rug, chair leg, flailing for anything to anchor himself down... and the Secret service deposit him in the driveway, where he is immediately taken into custody by the Capitol Police... who then drive him downtown where he is extradited to New York to face charges.

Of course that will never happen :mischief: but its still fun to think about. What is probably more likely and possibly more healthy for the country is he cuts some deal with Mitch McConnell behind the scenes to finally concede and leave quietly.

Trump running 3rd party would pretty much doom any republican next time wouldn't it?
