NOTW XXIX: Hired Swords - Game Thread

People are misinterpretation my post, (and I guess it's my thought, after rereading my post). I sent a pm to BL for the same clarification I am giving you, as well as some other questions, and he did not answer. He is a fellow Grigori and he does not have any reason not to answer me.

Yea, I didn't respond you simply for this: I didn't trust you then, and I certainly don't trust you now. Remember, you were all high and mighty on having Stuck in Pi lynched when he was scanned an innocent, and I'm pretty certain you knew this going in.

I meant there aren't any as I know, protection abilities to be used on other people.

That's not really what you said. You said: "I have a protection ability!" And, in NOTW land, that usually means you can protect other people. Now, if you could just protect yourself, why on earth would you broadcast that to the world? You WANT people to attack you so it buys the innocents time. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't know of your ability until you yelled on top of the mountain so to speak. And in my conversations with other people, it would seem that too was the sentiment.

My protection ability is for myself, and is still in effect. The Mafia have not targeted me because they know of my protection ability due to the carelessness of Sprig earlier on in this campaign.

Or you're bluffing the whole thing. Seems convenient enough - it saved you then with Sprig, and you're trying to 'prove' innocence now with it.

The Mithril set I have wanted due to greed, I admit, but also because I do not know any other person to trust. Krill the person that Choxorn most trusted, didn't even follow our groups instructions for who knows what reason.

And yet right out of the gate you agreed with his statement about killing Khazaar and even voted the bow to him. What exactly changed in the past what, 6 hours?

One of the instructions from yesterday was to vote to me the Mithril set, Krill didn't follow and instead voted my opposition, BL to the Mithril set, denying me it.

Yet Krill didn't vote me anything, it was Stuck in Pi who judging by his comments shares a similar distrust of you. Obviously the root of his suspicion goes farther back than my own since he wouldn't go along with voting the two items to you.

Choxorn scanned Krill some time ago and he has shown negative for night movement. The biggest fault in Choxorns scanning is that someone who is a wolf doesn't need to be active at night.

Yet Krill was the one who did the vigilante hit on Double-A. And seeing as prior to that hit there were no arrow kills and that the slaughtering continued, it would seem Krill was in not lying about his vigilante ability.

Trying to piece the situation together, Backwords Logic was voted our leader, likely by the bandwagon of all his wolf buddy's, and went through the game undetected and unquestioned because he was our leader. Nobody bothered to double check him. Also, he was fairly silent for some time, when we could have really used his advice being the company leader and all.

Seeing as you're new I'll let this slide. It's well-known I only post when I have to or have something concrete to go on. If I don't have anything useful to say, I keep my mouth shut to not confuse other people with random distractions.

My suspicion of Krill started a long time ago when he did not contribute to any group discussion, actually the only order he followed was the voting on (Unvote: )Khazaar on the event of Choxorn's death, which would be quite a good excuse for an extra innocent lynch.

And you voted the bow to him. And agreed to kill the same guy via today's lynch. I'm confused here...

The only evidence in his favor was Choxorn's scan of no night action. During the Mithril voting yesterday, it became clear he was not with us, and today his raised suspicion of me despite Choxorn's convincing of the group that I am innocent is the last straw.

Well, I *think* Stuck in Pi was in choxorn's group, and it sure sounds like he did a helluva job convincing his group that you're innocent...

Today, Backwards Logic also raised his suspicion of me, likely a wolf group order to get me lynched since I have a protection ability(which would explain the sudden change of heart from Krill). Not to mention he not answering my clarification and questions from a fellow Grigori.

Or just your actions are just so contradictory. Krill can have the bow.

Everything your pointing out can easily be defended with the simple fault that "I am noob" ;)

Fine than, Lynch me. Im getting my "Told you so" pic ready.

I don't have a clue what is going on any more. I'm on a teaching placement atm, and have been pretty busy for the past 5 weeks. It's starting to wind down now, though, which is why I've started being around. The vigilante kill was mine (I seem to get that one alot...), and numerous people know that it was me that offered the vigilante kill days before it happened (and they can comment on that if they want.). I'm innocent, and the best recipient of the firebow to keep up our meagre strength.

Anyone not voting the item to me or trying to bandwagon me has either had the wool pulled over their eyes or is a wolf. Probably the same for trying to get me lynched, too.

To bad I am going to die, I really want to see the innocent's face when they lynch me and find out there chance at survival is near 0.

My apologies, friends. you may have noticed my recent silence... and current whisper. Sore throat, happens to the best of us.

ooc:
Spoiler :
sorry for being so quiet: finals and a paper. I need to read up on what happened, and the like, but i'll be active again.

The Ghost of the Sharpshooter demands that Paulus update on time for once!

Paulus? Is this game on life-support? What's going on?

Well... Today has been pretty long..

Anyway, When I die, and You'll see I am innocent, you will have lost a 6 str soldier with a protection ability.

Hopefully whoever is still innocent will see that who I targeted today (it's been a long day) are wolves.

OOC: A word of (ghostly) advise, it's probably too late to change anyone's mind about killing you. :)

I'm aware.

Funny, I went through numerios blackouts, and I have had to keep atleast one link saved the entire time, the link to my "I told you so" pic. :p

It was just before dusk. The Dragonslayer had found himself accused by the mob, and the remainder of the Company was set to do the deed and do away with him.

"If you think I'll go and die quietly, you've got it all wrong. Especially by your hand." If looks could have killed, the Adventurer would not have survived the Dragonslayer's glare. "There is still time, Company - leave me alive, and kill that accursed Adventurer instead! He has been deceiving the lot of you all along!" The Dragonslayer's gaze darted around, seeing if there were any ready to support him. There were none; the Company all took a step back, as if they knew what was coming.

"There is no choice for you, Dragonslayer. Take your punishment for treason like a man!" The Adventurer drew the Mithril Sword, and held it against the Dragonslayer's throat. The Dragonslayer briefly recoiled, but then drew his own sword in response. "I'll take you on, you blasted traitor, even if it kills me!" He charged the Adventurer, sword raised. The Adventurer simply sidestepped the charging Dragonslayer and stabbed him. Gurgling blood, the Dragonslayer fell to the floor, as he looked to the Adventurer and cast him one last foul glare.

"When this charlatan turns on you all... remember that... I. told. you. so..." The Dragonslayer could not manage any more words and collapsed. The Adventurer briefly checked him to see whether he had really died - which was the case - then got up again.

He assessed the remaining men of the Company, briefly locking eyes with the Mounted Archer and the Witch Doctor. Then, he gave a nod. The Mounted Archer quickly drew his bow and fired a well-aimed arrow at the Hunter, killing him instantly. The Witch Doctor cast a fireball and dispatched the Halberdier with it.

"You had been betraying us all along???" the Firebow exclaimed, appalled at the revelation. "From the very beginning we elected you as leader?"

The Adventurer smiled and nodded. In the background, the Pikeman was dispatched with another fireball from the Witch Doctor.

"The fools all tried to stop me. The Illians probably knew, but their secret died with the Mounted Axeman. But for the remainder, you all fell for it. If only you'd listened to the Dragonslayer now, eh?"

The Axeman tried to fight off the Mounted Archer to no avail. He had not been able to fight as well as he wanted to. He, too, was easily killed. The Firebow was spared the remainder of the Adventurer's brag - he was killed with another arrow. The Wizard was dispatched with a fireball to the chest.

The Mounted Swordsman held up the Eye of Nantosuelta in vain, as if it were supposed to protect him. He was defeated by the Adventurer, and only the three traitors remained.

"Perfect. The final thing I needed. Come on you two - we need to get out of here. The Illians might yet catch up, and we no longer have the rest of them holding us back." The Mounted Archer and the Witch Doctor nodded and walked with the Adventurer, knowing that their plan had succeeded and that they were going to be rich.

They went back and cashed the reward, dividing the spoils among the three of them.

The three conspirators never spoke of each other again, nor of their deeds. Their dark secret still was out there... but it was buried beneath the Illian snow, and what were a few more dead bodies in a hostile country where nobody would look? Exactly.

Nobody alive would ever know of it, save for the traitors themselves.

TRAITOR VICTORY!

Congratulations to Backwards Logic, Winston Hughes, askthepizzaguy, and Seon!

Innocents epic fail LOL.

I did my job as distraction well :p

OMFG. INNOCENTS WERE IDIOTS.

/positive comment
Great game people! Congrats to the winners who did a truly sublime job! Looking forward to reading all the stuff that happened behind the scenes!
Especially on how you set up poor TheLastOne36 to do all the killings for you.

My only complaint is probably how I am supposed to be an assassin and can't steal a silly sword without half the camp noticing ><
Oh and DE sorry for poisoning you, I felt that this whole herbs thing probably was going to make you powerful.

(All caps is sarcastic)

Edit: I thought of poisoning you first Backwards Logic but I was afraid that you would hand the sword to someone else. Looking back I should have sticked with my original plan.

How's that training going Khazaar?

Good job, guys. :)

Aww... I wanted to go one more night to accomplish my PG...

Congrats guys - ATPG, Winston, and Seon. It was absolutely a pleasure to work with you.

To the innocents and the other teams: Well, y'all get an "A" for effort.

To Paulus: Thanks for a magnificent game! :goodjob:

I'll have more later, but for now I'll just listen to what the lot of you have to say. If I get enough interest perhaps I'll throw together another AAR similar to what I did for Chand's game.

EDIT: Paulus, I assume the starting PM's will be out in the near future?
