well i HAD to vote Wyoming .. talk about boring..[well the southern part anyway] i have to admit there are some cool things in Wyoming [Yellowstone Jacksonhole,]
When i go to Colorado from the townwe drive threw Utah and wyoming..
Wyoming is flat and has sagebrush.. all looks the same.. =\..
and there is more Antelope then people in the state :O

in the state where i live;
Idaho,
its
ok.. the southern part where boise is twin falls, Idaho falls, etc etc
is flat and boring.. but the northern and middle part is pretty cool, it has 11,000 foot mountains and some 12,000 too not that tall compared to Colorado and California and some other states ,
where i live, its pretty cool a ski resort ..
i deffintly cant call idaho boring with all the stuff to do.[river rafting, rockclimbing, fishing, camping, hiking, mnt biking,] but you can also go to the "city" [boise] and go to the Mall and shop :D

The correct answer is Iowa. It's so boring the OP forgot to put it in the poll and no one has mentioned it yet. At least states like Wyoming and Idaho and the like have beautiful scenery, and at least Delaware has a coastline. Iowa has virtually no scenery worth looking at. It's all spralling flat cornfields. The highlight of the state is a Wal-mart in Des Moines.

Iowa is the outlier in all internet polls!

the Quad cities and the river are nice

I cant believe the state with the nation's first nat'l park is getting so many votes
And to the south are Flaming Gorge and the Green River. Most of the western half of the state is beautiful

I certainly would not vote for Maryland as boringest, but I do think its kinda boring:

1) Everyone I know who has spent a good deal of time there thinks Baltimore is lame.
2) Its claim to fame (crab) is maybe the 3rd best kind of crab in the country (which is why they have to cake it).
3) What else is there? I mean its really close to interesting stuff (like DC) but I dont think that counts does it?

One very cool thing about Baltimore though is Cal Ripken Jr. played there!

Educate me on the interestingness of Maryland!
what Mad Men said plus...

While Maryland crab cakes are quite superior to all others, they are not the main event. Steamed blue crabs and pan-fried soft shell crabs are the best crabs anywhere. You cannot get them anywhere else either. You have to be there in season.

Ft McHenry and the spring steeple chases in Baltimore Country are also excellent attractions. And if you like to sail the Chesapeake Bay is a grand place to do so. and the Naval Academy and the college of St. Johns are in Annapolis.

SHHH! If enough ppl think it's boring it will stay hidden and thus, less crowded on the ski slopes/lakes and rivers/hiking and biking trails/etc.

No problem Fifty:goodjob: I'll do just that hears a couple of things of the top of my head
1.Maryland had it's own (small) colonial empire
2.Maryland was the only colony to declare war on an other colony(Pennsylvania)
3.the last battle in the English civil war was fought in Maryland
4.Maryland was the only state to get its own service medal in WW1
5.It's the home of Johns Hopkins University
6.GPS was invented in Maryland
7.Have you ever heard of this game called "CIVILIZATION"? That's made and developed hear also.

Your dad is a GOD among 49ers

Washington used to be a part of it to.

Cheezy get your hangin rope there be some lynchin goin on ta night:trouble:
Spoiler :
:joke:

Ironically by being a Northern Virginian you have more in common with us than you do with people from the southern half of your state.

Lolwut?

Wyoming is famous for being the only state where the most interesting thing is the name, and even the name is boring.

The person who suggested New Jersey has got it wrong I'm afraid. Too much chance of someone shoving a knife into you to really call it boring. Grew up there, I still twitch.

I've been to just about all of them. Legally, politically, socially, culturally, meteorologically, geologically, historically, geometrically, economically, and via any other measure I can think of including its name North Dakota is wan, vanilla, middle-to-back of the pack. I read through most of its wikipedia entry and fell asleep before I reached the end, but here's a few nuggets proving through their very prominence in the article just how boring North Dakota is:

- No one is sure whether North Dakota is the 39th or 40th state; it and South Dakota joined virtually simultaneously and they didn't record whose was signed first.
- "North Dakota also shares concepts such as hot dishes along with other Midwestern states."
- CBS News has reported that the state with the highest per capita percentage of millionaires is North Dakota.
- In 2006, North Dakota was the state with the lowest number of returns filed by taxpayers with an Adjusted Gross Income of over $1M - only 333.
- Outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing are hobbies for many North DazzzZZZZzzzzz...

Okay, it's a craphole, but not dramatically craphole-ish like say Arkansas, Mississippi, and New Jersey, and New Mexico actually stays above it on the "border state with a lame name and some Native American history" scale of excitement. And hell, most US adults have a little piece of Delaware plastic in their pocket, while North Da...zzzZZzzzz... whups, sorry - while North Dakota is "the largest producer in the U.S. of barley, sunflower seeds, spring and durum wheat for processing, and farm-raised turkeys."
