New Terrain mod with rocky coastline, mountains and irrigation

Sorry, getting a bit sidetracked at the moment, want to test some scenario ideas and I'm in a bit of a fantasy mood so I'm working on a small dungeons and dragons type mod.

Don't worry, 3d terrain and machine gun guy are still very near the top of my list...

So are you ever going to upload that tundra :p?

I Install this program but it don't work in my game. I start new game and install again Civilization III but it don't work? Why? Can someone help me? :(

this is b/c it was made for vanilla civ iirc. it's missing the terrain pcx files that were added to civ3conquests. unfortunately, i can't recall which ones they are right now.

open your editor w/ the terrain pack installed and it'll actually tell you that 'such-and-such' file can't be found...anyways, these are the conquest pcx's i referred to. i C&P'ed them from the orig terrain folder and voila, it worked!

First of all, love your terrain. The original (Firaxis) one was getting a bit boring.

Anywho...

I've opened the zip and extracted the filed into the correct folder (C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain\art\Terrain) but when I load the game- It's still the original terrains. I even tried putting it in just art\terrain, etc., still doesn't work.

Help!

It's the wrong directory. You should extract it to
'C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Terrain\'

Do not forget to back up !

I pray El J doesn't read this (you know those New Jersey folk), but I like this terrain graphic more than the watercolor ones that he has on his scenarios..... [Looks for around for flying objects, and then runs for cover]

WTH is wrong with you?
I could say the same to you. I never said I didn't like El J's mods, they're beyond fantastic, it's just I've never liked the watercolor landscapes. They're rather dull looking and the forests aren't very distinct. Whereas this looks brighter and you can actually see the individual trees without trying too hard. I prefer things distinct and sharp.

u bumped a year old dead thread to say u dont like the terrian  it would have been better if you said nothing

Agreed. I love the jungles, plains, and irrigation in this terrain, but not the rest. An acceptable bump would have been "Hey Cordy, can I use some of your terrain that I DO like to create my own terrain?"

Really - can I ? :D

Quite the contrary, I said that I like this terrain better than the watercolor terrain. Don't get so worked up over little things, or your stress will kill you. I posted because I didn't know how long it'd been dead, because as many know, I'm not a Creation/Customization regular, I'm an OT regular. I can't keep track of when the last post was in every single thread in every single sub forum.

The best speaker in the world is worthless if he says nothing. Besides, I didn't look at the date stamp until after I posted it, so lay off. As much as I like to think I'm perfect, I'm not. It was a mistake.

Good idea Amesjustin, I'm considering doing that. I'll mull it over for a few days.

Than you can simply replace the terrain folder with watercolor-terrain by a folder with your favourite terrain.;)
